Water chip being destroyed and having 150 days to fix it is the plot of Fallout 1.
The prop is also screen accurate to the game 😯
Yeah just about every prop is accurate to the games!
But the fundamentalist keep saying that the authors hate F1, 2 and NV 😂
@@maxdelpo5578 Not the authors, just Todd Howard.
@@misterkitewhich is a very dubiois claim
"Thou shalt get sidetracked by Bullshit every goddamn time..." that's so true to Fall Out :'D
It's true of lots of RPG's. I haven't even played Fallout and that one resonated with me.
I need to find shaun.... But first i have to collect every loose bit of junk, build atleast one 3 story building in each settlement, romance every single companion and max every single stat
@@randomcourier shaun schmaun, I'm more concerned with where I can find duct tape
Might be the best line in the show😂
It's what makes Fallout *Fallout*. And (good) Bethesda games in general. It's not the main story of those games, as much as getting sidetracked, getting immersed in the world, finding interesting characters and compelling side quests, and then remember 3 hours later you remember you have a main mission you planned to do.
"Maybe people won't fuck around with you if you are carrying some guy's head"
Yeah, that's ... a really good point
Nerdy’s imagination takes him so far away from the plot causing his predictions to be so left field. 😂
The wife is still in the picture in Ep1, cuz he's doing b'day parties to pay the alimony.
Well I think the alamony comment clearly shows they're divorced.
@@Metaljacket420 but not unalive as they thought.
They got divorced, which is why he didn't get into the Vault and instead became an irradiated ghoul.
@@maksphoto78which is unfortunate since the daughter was with cooper when the bombs fell.
The cartoon character on the sign at 26:28 is the vault-boy or pip-boy, the mascot of vault-tec throughout all the games.
The last scene shows us that Coop WAS the vault boy, he even gave the vault boy his signature pose with the thumbs up.
And yet he still didn't end up in a vault.
No wonder he shot that sign, no wonder he treats Lucy with such disdain.
Uh. Lucy is not thr only one. He treats almost everyone with disdain. Lol
I love the Deviled Eggs demonstrate how inexperienced as well as optimistic she is that she will take up so much room in her pack with a few eggs that are notorious for being difficult to travel with.
I like how the ghoul goes through Lucy's inventory right away.
Just like when you get a companion, you go through their stuff.
Maximus isn't the brightest, plus he seems to get head trauma every episode. I saw a video saying that the game has an Idiot Savant trait that he might have- it helps you level up more the lower your intelligence 😂
He DEFINITELY has idiot savant perk. I’m sure Lucy has “Skilled” and she most def has “Daddy’s Girl” too. The Ghoul def has “Bloody Mess”
@@dreamshakejunya the ghoul probably also have the Cannibal perk....
Low intelligence but high luck!
28:12 Interesting take by Nerdy, but he's forgetting the conversation by the neighbours in that same first scene where they reveal he is paying alimony. It could be considered conjecture by them, but it is more likely exposition for us.
Maximus is a brand new player who gets the suit way before they're ready to use it. Like me.
"Thou shall get sidetracked by bullshit every Goddamned time." Side quest!!
high END and LCK build
I left the volt to find my Son, I ended up sidetracked by building settlements and fighting raiders for scraps lol.
@@vkdeen7570 Also low INT and the Idiot Savant perk.
The location in the desert with all the sand-filled houses is a real location - an abandoned mining town in Namibia. The stranded boat is real as well.
Nerdy finding a flying radroach cute... and Clarus like WAT?
ngl, that is absolutely the first time in 56 years i heard anyone describe a roach as "cute"! i am totally with Clarus.🙂
@@davidperkins6752 then you haven't seen enough hentai... there's a surprising big amount of bug stuff out there....
but that's rule 34 for you...
@@davidperkins6752 that's rule 34 for you.... You'd be surprised how much bug stuff is out there....
@@davidperkins6752there are many people that have roaches as pets
Hahaha!
At the end where Coop is doing the commercial, posing for the camera, and he does the thumbs up thing. Coop is the thumbs up guy you see all through out the show on billboards, on vault posters and bobble heads. That’s why he shot the billboard of the guy doing the thumbs up thing. Because that’s him!! And it reminds him of everything that happened pre nukes. You’ll find out more in the coming episodes about the past.
28:18 - I don't think the wife is dead in the opening of Ep1.
One of the parents ask why a successful actor like him would be doing birthday parties and the other parents reply that it's because of alimony. So not dead, but divorced.
the looks she exchanged with the vault-tec people were kinda sus
I think those flashbacks is definitely something that works better in a TV show, and not so much in a game
From what I’ve seen, they didn’t do a green nose. It’s prosthetic around and then dots for cgi to edit out. Probably more comfortable. I think they said it was originally a 5 hour makeup but they got it down to like 2. I think it looks great.
Yeh I had to look it up as well as I had heard someone say 3hrs in makeup, but found a quote saying it started with 5hr but they managed ti get it to 1.5hr, with the nose being removed with CGI. So the ghoul skin is not a special effect but actual makeup department flexing.
It is preferable to avoid chroma coloured (green & blue, mostly) surfaces/items to not be near elements that aren’t being touched by VFX because of the issues the spill (reflected light) causes.
So, painting the nose green would’ve been a nightmare for the digital artists.
Handy tip, new filmmakers: Put your chroma fabric as far away from the foreground subjects as possible!
I don't get the feeling that the eyepatch girl was hitting on the brother, she clearly was enraged that her husband got killed (ep 1 gunning down the baddies) & she would like to do the same to the prisoners.
yeah first time I've seen someone come to that conclusion.
@@suddenimpulse030 cause theyre hella dumb lol
@@tuxedomask4masc Sure thing Sailor Moron
Conversation from the first episode... "Why is he doing Birthday parties? Alimony." She wasn't dead.
Where'd he'd be paying her alimony considering she likely has way more money. We can't take gossip from the party guests as gospel.
@@volourn9764 Though true that he probably wasn't paying alimony, that wouldn't be public knowledge, but the fact that they got divorced would have been.
@@kevinjohnson7631 Yeah, that's definitely true.
Carrying a head around: The doctor did have a black bag, but instead of using it to carry the head, she just left it next to the body. She is still a rookie at looting. And at carrying heads.
Everyone keeps shitting on Maximus for leaving the suit a second time. But honestly, I don't think anyone else is gonna go near it with bodies dropped all around it, including a guy with half his head torn off 😂
Yeah, the Ghoul face is a facial prosthetic, with no nose. Initially, it took 5 hours to apply, but the makeup team managed to get it down to 2. He had some motion tracking dots applied to his actual nose for a CG replacementm, rather than having it painted green.
I think that’s! why the jumpsuits are blue and yellow!
Also, the Ghoul is the original Vault Boy…
We have this big time actor to promote our stuff, let's give him the colors he's known for, oh that seems to be working no reason to stop using those colors now
"What I took from that was a desire to communicate," Yeah like, "Ass me a question!"
I believe it is in this episode, if you look at the very end, they show a billboard with the "cartoon" Vault-boy" partially covering the image of Cooper Howard (Walton Goggins character), so, there was some "fallout" between him and Vault-tec along with the problems with his wife because in the first episode it was stated he needed money for alimony.
that music choice during photo shoot is fantastic
Walton Goggins does have a very cute nose, to the point that it's almost incongruous with the rest of his facial features
it was definitely what caught my eye in Sons of Anarchy :D
I thought the Gulper was a show creation but apparently the Gulper (weird fish finger thing) was introduced in the Far Harbor DLC for Fallout 4. I had it but didn’t get around to playing it so I didn’t recognize it.
Also, the deviled eggs aren’t fresh…there’s a pre-war packaged food called “Yum Yum Deviled Eggs”. You find pre-war packaged food *everywhere* in the games, and apparently the Vaults had a 200-year supply of them also.
The wifey ain´t dead for sure.
14:05 Actually Nerdy I'm pretty sure you could see one of the security guys during the whole "red wedding" scene. In particular, when one of the raiders inhales the Jet and is about to kill Chet, but then gets pushed by someone and falls in between the door that squishes him. I think the dude that pushes is wearing the security guard armor.
Johnathan Nolan and many members of the crew are huge Fallout fans and Ella Purnell (Lucy) played Fallout 4 also.
Nice to know that!
0:37 The head joke had me rolling, I admit.
"Great great great great great great grandfather" IT'S ONLY BEEN 200 YEARS, MY GUY.
I predict the Ghoul will be this year's Halloween must wear costume.
It pissed me off so much when Lucy just picked up the head and started carrying it, like the saw came from a perfectly good bag, USE IT!!!
14:00 they were dying in the fight in episode 1. It's a quick moment, but the guy who takes Jet and is about to kill Chet gets kicked and tripped by a guard where the door bifurcates him.
this is really some grade a STORY TELLING!! YOU GUYS ARE MARVELOUS! ty FOR DOING THIS WITH US
12:54 - most delighted "Oh fuck!" ever.
The Johnny Pemberton scream is absolutely out of this world good hahahaha
They likely didn’t kill him because they believe the Brotherhood would hunt them down.
If he’s just beaten and runs home the Brotherhood would be angry at him, not them.
Nice observation.
in episode 1, Cooper didnt want to do the thumbs up "given the state of things" im pretty sure he was referring to the threat of nuclear war; also his wife is not dead in the beginning, one of the guys at the party jokes that Cooper is doing a birthday party for alimony
on another note, i love the suggestion that Cooper is the basis for the Vault Boy mascot, thumbs up and all, and the blue/yellow scheme is because that was the color scheme he is famous for
I find the show has, (being too tired to think of another analogy) kinda Lord of the Rings pacing... where it'll cut between each story moving simultaneously but keeps you engaged every step of the way
Fallout definitely does have a more subtle version of the Dune "aaaah" thing. Replace it with that for more epic moments lol
You guys really nailed why I love watching your channel and other reactors that love the same things I do.
You guys are one of my Fav couples that react to movies and tv shows. You guys are hilarious and your reactions are the best and so genuine. I loved your reaction to The Sandman!! Can’t wait to see your guys reaction to season 2 when it comes out!! Love you guys!! ❤
Also the Fullmetal Alchemist series
Ooooooooo Nerdy. Can’t wait for you to review your outro after the final episode.
Cgi? He's a Nolan. Practical as much as possible. Pretty sure Christopher would fly across the pond to kick Jonathan in the nuts if he over used cgi. Then their parents will tell them to hug it out.
Can’t wait for you to finish the show. You are not prepared!
Maximus definitely has the Idiot Savant perk.
I don't think you realized it, or at least it didn't get the right attention. The ghoul is the template with his thumbs up. He's the blond cartoon man on all the billboards. That's why he shoots a hole in the head, this advertising character at the end of the episode.
Yum Yum Deviled Eggs 😊
Always a good activity to have indeed.
The whole backstory of Cooper (Walton Goggins character) is fascinating.
Oh and if you ever feel like starting the Expanse book-club, I'm all in. :)
4:18 Lisan ghoul-gaib!
Hahahaha, nice'!
Euh... you forgot one bit from the opening when he refused to do the thumbs up. He was doing that party for ? To puy alimony, so his wife wasn't dead.
Nerdy Nightly, Subscribed because your content is fantastic!
The "after party" analogy is very apt!
I get the impression that Axolotl may have been based on gulpers from Far Harbor, with a lot of artistic license. If I may, I'd like to bump a tiny, but we'll made production on RUclips called Fallout Revelations
Guess they forgot about episode 1 jerks at the party commenting about Cooper having to pay alimony
14:34 Not quite from that height, but I've done that and I'm pretty sure that was the exact sound made afterwards. Takes a moment for the soul to return.
This show made me want to play Fallout. I didn’t have that same feeling when I watched Halo.
36:50 - These are truly the conversations why I watch you two. Majestic.
we have all caught that this series is totally western coded... but am I the only one who has caught that the three protagonists literally are:
the good (lucy) the bad (maximus) and the ugly (the ghoul)
I haven't seen or heard others make that connection...
Yeah I thought of that too 😅
Didn't think about that but I definitely see connections with Westworld since there's crossover with production. Lucy (Dolores), the ghoul (the man in black), Maximus (Maeve)
@@LoLovesLife i can see it with Lucy (Dolores) and the ghoul (the man in black) but i don't see the connection in Maximus (Maeve)....
@@GarmrsBarking The other two are definitely more of a 1:1 comparison but Maximus reminds me of Maeve's arc because they're both characters whose initial motivations are based on personal loss but eventually develop into a motivation for a higher purpose. Maeve with her daughter and Maximus with his entire family and community. I also think they serve as foils to characters like Lucy and Dolores who, at least initially, are presented as firmly on the side of good. From the time that we meet Maximus we understand him to be morally grey, admitting that he wished for his friend's injury and watching the knight die. His actions are understandable but are a contrast to Lucy who gives the ghoul vials even after he tortures and sells her.
It was something I was thinking after episode 2, but they didn't really keep Maximus that gray of a character, especially after the accident reveal in episode 8 which was really a disappointment to that mystery.
Hello Nerdy Nightly!!!
Great series Fallout (I'm on 5/8)!!! Going to be fun watching your reactions.
FOR the ALGORITHM!!!
For the Algorithm!
That looked like Bill Murray offering to teach them calculus.
I rewound, that is definitely Billy Murray in a cameo.
You missed something in the first episode but i dont want to mention it cause it might be considered disruptive to your experience.
In the game you can drop your inventory into a corpse, and if the corpse has a severed head, you can carry the head along as a weightless bag.
0:38 - TMI
4:30 - No you're not 😉
The tracker was designed to give you a heading . . . ba-da BING!
I get your point about past storyline in a post apocalyptic future but I promise in this show it’s very relevant
maximus has idiot savant perk.
Yeah...
noooooooo! I was on board until 37:10 🤣
Axalotle finger stroker - to go with your Dune 2 popcorn bucket!
You gonna sit there an' argue, or you gonna FISH?!
( Fishing with your friends has an entirely different meaning in fallout)
😉👍
This show is so good, you guys have no idea, the ending of this season is amazing.
Playing a really stupid character can have unique benefits in Fallout.... Maximus is playing that character type perfectly :)
And really hilarious interactions'!
4:52
Clarus nonchalantly giving a glimpse on the inner psyche of modern women.
Yeah his face was a mask and they just CGI'd out the nose
1:41 you’re right and you should say it! it’s a cute nose!
28:10 at least they're divorced at that point, judging by one of the party attendees comment ("alimony").
Funny you should mention Halo. I have never seen it, but I just watched a review of Fallout that rated it on a scale "From Halo to Last of Us"--it was the premiere and they ranked this significantly closer to Last of Us.
I am so looking forward to you guys seeing the rest of the season.
I love your guys stuff keep it up
and I made a comment years ago on one of you rings of power vids and I was a ass am sorry for that if you read this
The guy clearly has low Barter skill, should've allocated enough points there, at least 30 points. 🤣
Make a mental note of a few of your reactions for later on:
The theory of the axlotl
The reaction to Lucy walking without a shoe and grimacing "oh her foot!"
"See? They're a good team"
No spoilers, just keep those in mind
lol super heavily hinting but not saying outright, yeah okay
Yep, this show IS great
So are your reactions
Keep it up!
Yeah!
wife is alive (hence the alimony comment by the bday boy's dad). coop didn't want to do the thumb's up because it was in poor taste (threat of nukes)
the thing about maximus is that if he had S.P.E.C.I.A.L stats like you do in the game, hed have low intelligence but high luck, probably decent perception aswell as hes good with guns
If she was dead in the opening scene, he wouldn't have been doing birthday parties to pay alimony. ;)
I think the difference between something like Halo and something like Fallout is that Halo feels embarrassed about being based on a video game, while Fallout embraces it. Halo feels like the show makers thought that games were an inferior form of media, and they knew better than the game developers and the fans. By contrast, Fallout never feels like it thought of the games as somehow lesser, simply a different medium of storytelling engaging with the same world.
This is the best show I've seen in a long time man, it's so good...
1:45 hahahahaha
I thought for sure that you would say, " Boreing conversation anyway." Nerdy! I'm disappointed in you as a Star Wars fan! 😢
And custard. X^)
I'd only ever seen Walter in The Shield, which he was great in, but yeah he's perfect for this role.
Spoiler:
LOL at 'his wife is definitely dead".
Thank you for another great reaction!
in every single reaction she gets predictions right and he always tries to correct her because he thinks hes right 😂
I am grateful for this show.
There are certain shows I like watching reactions to- kind of gives me a pulse of the moral stance in the world right now. Not since watching reactions of the movie Joker have I felt this disheartened about the moral state of the world.
The real world.
You are right they are both great adaptation but Fallout push it even further
16:34 "torcher is wrong" best vibes!
That and "She kidnapps dads" are my favorite lines 😂
