Watching your videos makes me so sad to live in the US. I am a city planner in Utah doing everything I can to make it more bike friendly, but it is slow moving! Thanks for the great videos!
As a future city planner, the documentaries on infrastructure projects (with the narration) are very informative, but I feel like you could learn even more with these POV videos
Pity the camera could not have turned at 9:08 to show the lovely windmill. We rode along there in the Summer of 2016 (before all the bridge work was finished) and it made a delightful sight.
I'm pretty sure I'm not intelligent enough to cycle in Holland. Here in Canada all we have to do is cycle on the side of the road until we get run over. Simple!
I cycled over this school bridge path , I was just thinking am sure it must happen but I have never seen a dog going for some one one a bike over there ?.
De Daphne Schippersbrug was net geopend dus nog een attractie. Je had die afkeurende duim ook kunnen plaatsen waar fietsers door rood rijden (waarom toch die roekeloze haast) of elkaar nauwelijks de ruimte gunnen.
@@EugeneAyindolmah kids escaping? here in the netherlands we're like "what are you gonna do, run home to your parents?" because the teachers and parents would notice. Actually when i was a kid i was in a school where you could just walk off if you wanted to, but any primary school kid knows there ain't shit happening outside of school, so why even leave if there's nothing fun to do, while you could also be annoying the living shit out of your teacher together with your friends. The primary school next to mine did have an enclosed school yard, that's why on our school we referred to it as 'the prison'. But to be fair, it's no fun to escape if nothing or nobody is stopping you, so we had no reason to.
@@EugeneAyindolmah lmao, what? It's a school, not a prison. Do they lock you into the school in the US? Do you have to pass guarded gateways? I guess you have to do your weird little US prayer each morning too.
So the car that blocked the crossing gets a thumbs down but the cyclists who crossed the red light and that girl who cuts off the other cyclist didn't.
Yep, you got that absolutely right. Cyclists can do no wrong here. Some months ago a friend of mine was standing still in her car in front of a light minding her own business. A cyclist that was using her smartphone and riding against traffic crashed into her car. Guess who got the blame for that?
because en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Energy_efficiency_in_transportation#Bicycling BANCARS. PS. do u know that every barrel of oil means that fresh water goes deep underground to compensate oil?
The car was blocking the flow of traffic of bikes. The bicyclists who ran the red light knew from experience that the light would be green in a few seconds or they saw no cars approaching anyway. BTW, cardrivers are also caught using their phone while driving but when they screw up, somebody goes to the hospital or dies. Using your phone while on a bike is also not allowed and bicyclists caught get a hefty fine. In some other videos you may have noticed there's also police officers on bikes trying to uphold the law for bicyclists.
At 11:11 the girl actually kicks the bike of the person crossing the road. No thumbs down for that? How odd. She then proceeds to almost cause an accident with two other cyclists. Still no thumbs down there either. But oh my God, a car got caught out by the traffic lights, let's by all means put a thumbs down on that, because car drivers are the devil.
I agree with you, I think the girl overreacted. I mean she is cycling in the centre of the city, where cyclist do more crazy things. Don't know how she can cycle through the inner city if she is that quickly angry. I myself cycle through the inner city every day, and after 5 years, I'm now used to the chaos there.

I could watch these videos all day! Oh what I'd give to have this cycling culture in Ireland
Would you give up Guinness?
59acres Guinness? Yes. Potatoes on the other hand...
I'd have to agree with you on that.
Well get organized, nothing is holding you back.
Don't worry, we have potatoes too. And Guinness.
One of my favorite routes. it passes through so many aspects of urban developement/planning. there's a bit of sightseeing as well
Spring in Utrecht. It doesn't get any better. (Until summer starts ;-))

Nou de stoplichten nog wat fietsersvriendelijker. Verder prachtig.
hoe bedoel je?

LOL!!! Bicycle road rage at 11:11!!! I do like a girl with spunk! LOL.
Wederom een mooie fietsvideo van ons mooie Utreg.

Didn't realize the bridge lined up so nicely with the U-shaped building of Utrecht City Hall in the distance.

@11:13 that chick . . thuglife. hahaha!
Is this daphne shippersbrug?
biking near utrecht centraal is horrible. even with the bike lanes. just your vid proved it again.
3:45 is that the school yard? Completely open?
Yea so?
@@Brozius2512 We would never have that in the US because of the fear of kids escaping

Letterlijk wat ik zo ongeveer 6 keer per week fiets.
Same here in my country Scotland this would be brilliant not the uk , it isn't a country. ...
Right before the truck I disliked the cyclist who almost hit a pedestrian at 10:33

She had quite the road rage! And probably was ashamed of herself. She started cycling like crazy after that. It put a smile on my face.
