@C0C0BELLA1 You are wrong. When you do crash, 911 will tell you to leave your child strapped in their seat in case there has been any spinal injury. When I had my crash in May, the EMTs took the whole carseat out with my little girl still in it for the ambulance. Please don't post any more comments on videos for safety when you're clearly inadequate.

Cute kid! and very very well behaved and patient! but I have to disagree witht he fat that this is 'safe' there is still room behind her to compress in an accident, yes better than if fastened witht he straps OVER the jackets as your first video indicated, however, still dont' think this is safe!

thats such a good idea! i have just been putting a fleece sweater on my son and then his winter jacket on before we leave the house. then once we get to the car i quickly take his coat off and put him in his seat with his sweater still on and then use a blanket. its such a pain in the butt but clearly worth it! im just always worried about him getting sick because of it lol

Oh my god! Don't zip the jacket! If something happen you won't have any fast access to grab your kid and leave the car...

Your child is a whole lot more likely to get cold if he or she is ejected from the car in an accident, which is what happens when kids wear puffy winter clothes in the car seat. If you're worried about your child getting cold, the best thing you can do is keep her out of the coroner's refrigerator.

It isn't safe to use a jacket at all! You should place a warm fleece blanket over your child AFTER harnessing them in the seat

Sam Dyke with such a heavy coat, the car seat straps cannot secure the child as tight as they can without it and then you aren’t getting the safety benefits from the seat. Look it up online. you can not secure a child near as well with a heavy coat as you can without and then applying a blanket over

It's not a baby carseat, it is a convertable carseat. The headrest goes up as she gets taller. A 5-point harness is the safest method to secure a child, and most convertible carseats go up to 65 lbs before breaking down to a booster seat. In fact, this child would not be safe in just a booster as she is much too small.

Well, if your child dies from being thrown from the seat because you want a thicker coat you wont have to worry about them being cold.

the danger isn't a "compressed coat" the danger is that the coats don't compress enough. Did you watch part one to this? Tighten the straps all you want but in a winter coat no matter what you do the straps are not going to be close enough to your child's body.

I think it's a great idea. You don't have to zip the coat up and you'd still have access to the baby.

For the comments on how having the coat zipped over the seat is just as dangerous because you can't access the child in case of fire (seriously, has anyone ever seen a normal road accident that has set a car alight?!). The EU doesn't allow chest clips for this very reason, access. I would say a child-proof clip is a lot harder to undo that a child-friendly zipper.

My worry would be more about the child getting cold following an accident than the potential danger from a compressed coat.

Being ejected from a carseat is much more dangerous and more likely in a car accident than a risk of hypothermia.
