I have watched so many videos on this subject before I found yours and I was in tears because I could not understand how to do this. Finally, after days of frustration....I got it!!! Thank you so much!!!!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I had a phrase that was too wide for the mat and wasn't sure how to slice between the two words to make it fit the mat. You did a beautiful job of explaining and didn't go too fast for me. I'll be keeping and saving this video until I can get the hang of it. I've also subscribed to your channel, so I can watch more of these. Thanks again!
You are awesome!!! I have watched several others and I felt like I was trying to learn how to build a rocket ship! 🤦🏼♀️ You broke it down into easy terms for me!! Thank you so much!!!!
You have no idea how helpful your video was to me. I have a project to do that is 3'x4'. I was trying to do it with each individual word, but then you get different thickness's of letters. Now I know how to do this correctly. I just wasted about 8 hours, but that's okay. Thank you so much. You were very clear in instructions and took it at a speed I can handle. You also were very good at showing your screen as you went along with instructions. Again, thank you!!!
Thank you sooooo much!!! I’ve been watching so many videos trying to figure out how in the world to make large decals and I just couldn’t follow any of the videos. That is until I saw yours. You made this so easy for me! Thank you for walking people through the steps and doing close ups. BTW- my mouth can’t spit out words as fast as my brains wants them too! So I get it! Thanks again!!!
Absolutely helpful video! Thank you so much! I'm a new Cricut user and I'm discovering there is a HUGE learning curve with the machine. I'm going to watch your other videos. 👍🏼👍🏼
I've followed your instructions and got to the GO print and am getting a Project Incompatible error. It's showing one of the slices is too big, but it's not. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks!
would you happen to have any ideas on how to print and cut a larger image than what the Cricut allows we are planning a Disney trip and the adults shirts I can not get large enough because the Cricut will only allow you to print so big most of your tutorials or vinyl do you have any that is print then cut image for iron on
Hi Caroline, Thank you so much for the video!! I'm new to cricut design space. If I'm trying to put a 17inch design on an 18inch round board would I use the circle vs the square? TIA
what if you wanted to make each word a different color. I was wanting to do something like this but with disney sayings and each word be a different color. I'm new with my cricut but am excited to learn. Love your videos
Thanks for asking. You would unattache and ungroup than change to the colors you want and than group and attach again and start from there. Hope this helps.
In the end are you painting over the letters you cut out and leaving the original wood to show through under the letter? Or is this more like a stencil in the end so the paint will be the letters. Kind of confusing, hope you know what I mean. ; ) If I wanted a stencil can I just throw the text away and leave the outline of the text in the square?
Hello I uploaded an image and put over my text but my slice button is not available its grayed out. I tried putting a box behind it and it still wont slice. What am I doing wrong? please help me. Im learning the ropes with my machine
This video was super helpful! Thank you! I have uploaded two different png files to make one phrase and when I try to slice it only slices one group. I tried grouping them but that didn't work either. Any idea what I'm doing wrong??
Question - I developed a very large subway and am trying to do the slice method you are showing (very well done by the way). No matter how I select everything (the white box and all the text) the "slice" button will not highlight for me to use. Do you have any idea why? I have tried welding my image and doing it, un-welded it, grouped it, ungrouped it etc - it will not highlight the "slice" feature. Thank you for your time.
Hi Lisa, It's because you are using text and depending on how you entered the text, will not be available. According to the website, this is what I've found "Text works a little differently with the Slice tool. If the text is multilayered and one layer is hidden, you can use the Slice tool. However, if you ungroup text from its shadow layer, it becomes an image and will no longer work with the Slice tool unless the text is ungrouped to individual letters." In was able to work around this, by selecting a different text font and I created one "image" if you will by clicking my enter/return key to add lines of text without it being a separate image. Once I did that, I was able to slice. Hope this helps :)

Wondering how you can do the same thing with different color vinyl?
You can ungroup everything and choose the colors you want than you group back together and follow the steps in this video. Thanks for asking. Cheers!

Marissa Gonzalez You will need to weld all text, so it's a single layer, before you can slice. Hope this helps. Cheers, Carolyn
Welding is what I was missing .. Thank you !!

Lisa Alexander Make sure there are no score lines. Score lines are a layer.
I'm also having this problem and don't have any score lines. Did you figure it out Lisa?
Great video!! Just wanted to let people know that you hit command instead of control if you're using an apple. ; )
Shana, Does any of your fonts have layers? If so, you have to ungroup the layers. Hope this helps.
