*** Updated note related to the effectiveness of the display mount*** The leather material on my dash made the surface unevenness, and the suction cup was impacted by having air trapped between the dash and the suction. The ideal install location for this mount would be the front windshield, as the suction works much better on glass
I wish they provided a description of the resolutions the camera is capable of providing. And whereas it looked pretty blurry on your end, the Amazon reviews seemed to indicate the image as fair to good?
Sorry about that, it could have been my recording quality. But in my opinion, the quality is 720p only approaching 1080p in optimal conditions (like perfect natural lighting). It’s not bad, and definitely is enough an upgrade to have no camera but is not HD by any stretch.
@@DetroneDoesIt Actually 720p isn't too bad imo. I did a little research and most backup cameras are 1080p or less, and I seem to remember reading that many older cars have cameras around 520p but I can't find the source for that atm. My use case is not having a camera at all so 720p is okay but unfortunately what you reviewed seems expensive for what it is, even with the black friday sale. I found 2-3 cameras on Amazon at 1080p in the $80-120 price range. And while the solar thing is a nice touch because you don't have to drill and wire the camera or power, unfortunately it seems like the downsides of a lithium battery and solar panel is it lithium dies after a while and I saw people complaining that it would lose power too quickly in the reviews. I did end up going for another option choosing a wired camera but wireless display, but your video was helpful in researching the ins and outs of choosing a backup camera. In any case, thanks for both the reply and the review!
When you first start your car, it automatically powers on and depending on the time you set it will stay on for 30/60/90/120 secs…. It does not automatically know when you are reversing though, so you will need to hit the button on the side of the screen to active it when you reach your destination.

Thank you for watching and I appreciate you taking the time to give me feedback.

@ Thank you for sharing and I’m glad you found it a bit helpful. Yes, price would also have been a consideration for me as well.
use magid tape and stick the screen in a good surface on your dash
That’s a good idea… The manufacturer who sent it to me told me that the ideal place for the monitor is to be suctioned to the front windshield.
Looks like the pros outweigh the cons to me. Does it automatically know when you’re backing up or you just turn on or prompt the monitor?

Thanks for checking it out!
Do you recommend any HD backup wireless cameras? Thanks
Unfortunately I don't have much experience with HD backup cameras but after using this one for a while... The video quality is not bad at all.
