The light at the end of the tunnel for a group of turtles at Cobbs Creek Reservoir

During a recent inspection of the 84-inch conduit pipe that will both send water to the reservoir and to the river when needed, four painted turtles were discovered lounging at the bottom of the inlet/outlet tower. They were carried out by county staff and contractors through the pipe that is buried 160 feet beneath the top of the dam.
