Got a 1070 with similar problems (except the BSOD). Someone already attempted a repair and was successful (tho the joints have solder spikes but good enough imo).

strange i got mine from a family member, he had no issues posting when he used it but bsod under load. i have it now after drivers installed sorta, (didnt finish) the windows screen pops up for a second and goes blank and fans ramp up and its weird likes posting more switched to secondary bios not main bios

There's no easy way as with Mats for nvidia, unless you also hack amd or its partners and get a gold of whatever software they are using.
You could replace them all or one by one.
Although its possible to use other methods sometimes such as he does in this video with an rx 580

The problem is similar to the one in the video, but when I use MATS, there is no error at all. Is it a faulty GPU chip? btw, my GPU is 1060 and I'm using MATS version 367, thx

There's a program called Tserver for AMD cards, it's not very good.
MATS leaked from inside NVIDIA? Good guy whoever did that.

You can find lots of components on digikey,mouser, etc. I've used eBay aliexpress, but try not to use them.
Hello, how are you, I have a 1080ti founder's edition of the zotac brand, since I put a monitor at 165hz and updated the drivers, it freezes when starting windows, and everything goes very slow to the point where I cannot work, much less run a game, the drivers with which it lets me use my graphics card are version 472.12, any solution?
I have the exact same problem with a vega 64 card, that probably means i am screwed right ? Becaus of the HBM being tied together with the core ? Because i have 39 Ohms on the Memory rail.
I got a gtx 780 and when I install the video drivers it goes black screen also the bios screen I see artifacts so I decided to use mats to check and it show that one module of vram has errors (to be more specific it has 5360 errors), do you think that module of vram is the cause of the black screen?
HI @tech cemetery my gpu problem is overheating GPU chip I already change the thermal paste and its still gaining 100 deg celcius do you know something that causes it to overheat? any advice will be appreciated

I always change the chip, I never reball.
@@TechCemetery thank you for answering, i tried reflow but only thing that changed is number of errors got lower. One more question if I may, what soldering tip size are you using?

I have MSI 1080ti that had bad memory module and i changed it with one from asus rog 1080ti not the card have no errors what so ever but it crashes again as before when i install the drivers. What do i need to look for next help me please.
Run the program he just used in the video to see if you still have memory related problems. Use voltmeter to see if you got any shorts.
@@Piohm No shorts that i can find. I ran that program before and after repair and after i changed the memory chip there ware no errors at all all came clear but the problem still exists. As last resort ill try to reball the GPU chip.
@@Calardo666 You said your computer crashes? What's the BSOD error code that you get? I think that will the clue to know what to look for next.
@@Piohm Im not sure that it gave BSOD or just black screen and restarted it was like a 2 months ago when i tested it and just put it in a box and forgot about it. Will check tomorrow i hope.
@@Piohm It goes to black screen immediately after the card detects the drivers and restarts the PC
I have a 1070 FTW2 that is 100 fan , black screen... i took it apart and redid the thermal paste but the heat pads i had to reuse.
I was going to take it apart again and do pads this time but if it works for content for you maybe we can do something.
- heres the real joke on me. I origionally bought the OG FTW 1070 , and did the 100 upgrade to the ftw2 model to lock in reliability... 2 months after 3 years it drops on me. I had to scramble and luckily found a 2060 super that im using to keep streaming and recording, but that was a gut punch when that card started to malfunction.
i had same issue with my rx 480 8gb, it crash when i tried install the driver, when i check it on windows error code 31, is that because memory module issue?

Hi i just run mats on my faulty 1080ti, and i have one faulty memory module not with 00ff00 errors but only ffffffff errors on the whole module. It looks like mats wasn't able to read the memory module. Is the memory controller broken ? Great video btw
