  • The layout of the Talmud, one of the most important Jewish texts, has remained virtually unchanged since its earliest days in print. This layout reveals a compelling look at Jewish values. What part did Daniel Bomberg - a Christian printer in Venice play in its publication, what’s behind the concept of “daf yomi” (reading a page of Talmud a day) and why has the Talmud’s graphic design not changed for generations?

      Talmud is studied for one's entire lifetime. How can one put Talmud into a 7-minute video?
      As for "something to hide," this is your own prejudice speaking. It's your problem.

    • @tstyleartistry
      @tstyleartistry 5 месяцев назад +7

      @Kurtlane I didn't ask for the entire book. The title suggests that there would be SOMETHING from the Talmud. I've watched videos that actually show what's written in it. They managed to do it in videos that ranged in length and from different channels from different perspectives. It's not difficult to put a passage or some form of context into a video.
      Obviously, those videos don't show the entire book (only a moron would even consider that as a possibility) because that would be like putting the entire Bible or Quran or an Encyclopedia into a video, but they managed to show passages, explain history, etc.
      This person clearly used the title for click bait, knowing that people are interested in knowledge and information, and they provided nothing at all.
      I don't think judging something based on what's presented is considered 'prejudice', but if you say so. Click bait titles are akin to lying. This person is a liar. It's not just misleading...it's a straight-up lie. Nothing was "unpacked."

      @@tstyleartistry , it does explain the basic division into Mishnah and Gemara. Beyond that, quoting any passage runs the danger of people mistaking that particular passage for the main message of the book. Why this passage, and not any other?
      The Bible and the Koran are much smaller than the Talmud. Moreover, the Bible at any rate has a process of events following each other, which unifies it.
      Koran was composed of bits of statements put together from pieces of paper, parchment, palm leaves, etc. with writing on it, and whatever was remembered by the last original reciters. So within Koran hides the traditional way of reading it, not from start to finish, but in a completely different way in which it was originally prophesied by Mohammed, or so it is believed, with (supposedly) later passages replacing earlier ones. Which makes it very difficult and debatable, since questions about which ones came earlier and which later will inevitably arise.
      So, as you can see, Koran is quite hidden. Especially from non-Muslims, who are not allowed to read it. But "Muslims have something to hide" is not said. Certainly not as much as "Jews have something to hide." Why? Because anyone saying it risks getting one's head cut off.
      And here we come to the true state of humanity, and how often people who are not allowed to "question" or criticize someone will switch their "questioning" or criticizm in someone else, who will not cut off their heads.
      (I put "question" in quotes here because they "question" like a child tears a little animal into pieces. They cut off body parts of many people, burn people alive, and call it "questioning.")
      Back to Talmud. It's like the Internet. Can anyone describe the Internet in the same way you demand Talmud to be described? "What is the essence of Internet? What is it really about?" And if you cannot -- "Oh, you must be hiding something, (expletives)."
      No, you are not as innocent as you pretend.

    • @Kurtlane
      @Kurtlane 5 месяцев назад +2

      @@tstyleartistry , I tried to reply. And was blocked.
      Trying again:
      Talmud is much larger than the Bible or Koran. Moreover the Bible has a certain rhythm, it moves as history moves. It's almost like it's possible to sum it up.
      Koran is not like that, but I cannot say anything about it, or I'll be blocked.
      Talmud is not like that either. It's like the Internet. Of course, you can ask, "what is written on Internet?" But is that a meaningful question? And does not answering it "suggests there's something to hide?"

      "The Talmud" is not one book made by a single author. The compilation happened for centuries. And it's not even canonical doctrine, but debate. If there's something bad about it, is everything in it bad as well, including all the people that wrote it and their relatives? It's like saying because one poem is bad from a compiled anthology of Greek poems, all Greek poets were inartistic, and ergo, all Greeks are ugly and vulgar. See, it doesn't follow at all.
      In addition, it has never been completely ascertained that "Yeshua," which occurs more than thirty times was actually "Jesus." Yeshua was a very, very common name, as well as "Mariam." The accusation is not well founded AT ALL.

    Those CONFUSED WHITE PEOPLE are NOT JEWISH - they are KHAZARS & ZIONISTS who's parents, grand parents & great grandparents ARE from Poland & Germany. Within Judaism, there's a distinction between being ethnically Jewish (having ancestry from the Jewish people) and being a convert to Judaism (someone who chooses to follow the Jewish faith). I am Dominican - born in the Bronx, New York. I was raised Catholic. I took my Ancestry DNA in 2018 and discovered I was genetically Jewish. Then everything I read and studied about the 12 Tribes of Jacob, invasion of the Assyrians through the North and how the rest of the tribes escaped through the SOUTH and into Africa, years later came the Trans-Atlantic slave trade and so on. Negroes, Hispanics and Native Americans are the modern day descendants of ancient Israelites.

    I don't know much about the Talmud, though some on RUclips have given negative ideas in it. Definitely, there must be some truth, that would explain something of Talmud students attitude in a video. Some Christians were taking part in some walk with across. Students spit on the feet of Christians, as they were passing by. It's not anything to blame all with, yet, it is what it is.

      Person A says: X. Person B says: Y. Person C asked person A: What is your reasoning for this? (Person A cites a verse). (Person B cites the same verse and explains that it means Y)…

      @@robertpatterson9943 , no, Jews don't admit it. Because it's all lies.
      Quite simply, thousands of Jew-haters over thousands of years have invented false quotes like this. And millions of fools believe them.

    It is really surprising that most Jews don't believe in the Trinity. I thought they understood the importance of the number 3, as it is the number of Creation. So it would only make sense since humans are 3 : mind, body, and spirit. That so too would God be 3 : Father, Son, Holy Spirit. That is what is meant behind humans being made in God's image. Christians and Jews worship the same God, there shouldn't be that big of a bridge between the two.

      We don’t believe that G-d is three since it’s already written that he is one. Deut 6:4 - “Hear Israel, HaShem is our G-d, HaShem is one.”
