I hope they just go full horror game with this one.
Yeah, I remember when I use to just watch the games so I could see what the prototype was, well first I was just curious what it was, then chapter 2 released and the prototype was in it, and I was like, huh, I’ll stick around for that guy to rear his mechanical ass, but now seeing this, makes me wanna see more then just the prototype, but I feel like the new monster, that jumpscared up in the trailer, she have more skinnier proportions, like it’s been down there for yonks, and it’s basically been starving, but I donno, I think that would look better than, oh the anticipation is huge, but the monster is kind of a let down, you feel me.

I doubt it because making plushes for little kids to buy is a huge money maker, but it would be cool if it was actually scary
I’m not that big on poppy playtime but damn even I have to admit they are REALLY making this interesting and I wish they made the game this creepy from the start.
honestly i'm all for this as if the deeper you go into the company the darker it is because they hinted at this level of horror with the adoption center

@@Vivigreeny25yeah I hope they keep the balance of puzzle and horror to until the final chapter (even though it's more puzzle than horror at the moment) although a bit of a problem in my opinion is chapter 2 isn't scary and I was worried they were never going to have another scary chapter after chapter 1 so I'm glad they still have there edge
The people at the mob studios have some real great. It's a bit of shame they use it on mid puzzle games, and RUclips kids content. I hope chapter 3 is actually good
Hopefully the chapter is as terrifying as the trailer. They definitely made this teaser feel like an A-List horror game that hasn’t ever considered catering to kids-it’s kind of refreshing, honestly! Taking a small detour out of the “mascot horror” genre and going more for actual “horror”.

Honestly I think maybe them going full horror wasn’t what they originally planned then through development they changed their minds, I definitely think this was the right call because I feel like mascot horror can only hold them back. Definitely high expectations for this

1) kids like edgy stuff and they gobble up scary media as a way to prove how old and mature they are.
2) it's a two or three year franchise that was basically marketed towards middle schoolers. Teens often feel pressured to "grow out of" their middle school interests, especially if they were edgy, and new middle schoolers don't usually replace them because, as a market demographic, they tend to want something new and don't take well to established IPs, even if they're only a few years old. It's likely they're trying to age up the franchise alongside its fanbase.

they said it's a lot bigger than chapter 2which is already at 2 and half hours... I really think they should take time to make this chapter because it's delayed a lot with project playtime.
@@vidurasankalpa i just want to clarify they never said it will be "a lot bigger than chapter 2", micah just said "it will be longer". and ch2 wasn't two and a half hour long it was 2 hours at most, still really good and lengthy for its quality for a $10 price tag. chapter 3 was also never delayed, if something hasn't released after the planned release date then it's delayed. Ch 3 never had a release date confirmed by the devs and it still doesn't. I know chapter 3 is still a massive significant upgrade, as I've been following everything they've said on discord about how it, is like it being beyond the previous 2 chapters quality wise, that the devs might have to complete remaster the previous 2 chapters both of which are already impressive. in the end just wanted to correct you that's it.
I finished the initial reaction and started to scroll toward the comments but Spiff told me not to look at his recommended so I immediately scrolled back up and checked.
Glad they're actually putting effort into these games. They could easily pump out so many games real quick and earn mad cash but instead they seem to actually care about their reputation.

I'm glad Poppy developers are getting farther away from mascot horror, because as soon as Garten of Banban got in on it, they totally ruined it with a bunch of crappy low effort games
Certainly looks interesting. A closer look at the prototype, assumedly, or whatever it's actually called.
I feel like a kid could easily mistake poppy playtime for some kind of Roblox game and then just watch this trailer.
Edit because some people need it: poppy playtime sounds like some fun Roblox game that 10 year olds would play, so 10 year olds being 10 year olds, they click on the trailer to see it and absolutely get traumatised, yes I could of worded this better but still.

Honestly mad respect to the devs for taking their time and making something that looks genuinely creepy and as spiff said, "not like mascot horror".
Mascot horror is actually trying to be horror now instead of the fake trying/accidentally succeeding that happened before. Ruin is a successful fnaf horror game (sure it's a dlc, but other creators have brought up the point that ruin was the first unrushed fnaf game produced by steel wool. No rush, no pressure. N its a legitimately scary game for a lot of fans. So many ppl r just loving the environment of ruin because of how horror it all is.) Now poppy playtime's next chapter is looking like a genuine horror game as well. The mascot of it all being just shadows in the trailer rather than any legitimate viewing of the mascots we all know n love/hate. So it doesn't seem like its just poppy turning toward legitimate horror. Its looking (to me at least) like the indie horror scene is shifting away from the mascots n toward actually scary, somewhat cinematic horror. Maybe banban was the mark of an era ending n a new one beginning. Or maybe its just something about 2023 making horror games spooky again n it'll all be over by next yr. Who knows.

The fact that you literally based the entire trailer on the last ten seconds of it down to a simple "they jumpscared US with a LITERAL PAIR OF EYES and they expect US to go "OOOOOOOHHHHHHHH SPOOOOOOPPPPYYYYYYYY" to be honest, it's really sad that by now people are only nitpicking, even complaining about total nothingness in order not to be able to accept the fact that the thing they hated so much Is finally getting better. People are just blindly supporting and liking whatever anyone releases even if it’s bad, this trailer looked cool but isn’t actually scary or actually showing what is in the game it’s just random environments and a random jumpscare

tbh the only thing i didn't like about the trailer was the "jumpscare" at the end. I feel like it would have been more unsettling if the eyes just moved away from the camera as you hear scratching footsteps or something like that
Agreed. The trailer was fantastic, but it feels like they ran out of time, budget, or creativity for how to end it.
It may be too much effort, but I would have loved to see it end with some rotating animation in the darkness, where it's revealed that the "eyes" were mere nostrils on a bigger creature or something awe-inspiring like that.
Or, like you said, fading into darkness with good sound design.
Better than a cheap, not-scary jump.
They tried to be battington so bad and I got a slight feeling of that, but damn did they fail to stick the landing. The rest of it was alright I liked it

I disagree imo chapter 1 and 2 especially 1 was really well done from the level designs throughout chapter 1 really well directed by isaac to the sound design and voice acting for the first project of the studio was incredibly impressive and fun the first time playing

Normally I’d like the fact that it’s going darker, a nice break from how squeaky clean security breach is, but I don’t know, something’s bothering me about it. It just feels really forced to me. I mean, I guess everything about Poppy is “forced” , the whole thing is basically a cash grab and nothing more. Them adding in a darker tone is basically just a pathetic cry of “Please take me seriously”.
