The developer recently also added two achievements. The first one requires you to do everything again while being chased by a seagull called Wally. After you’ve made that you can try to obtain the second achievement called Skyborne. This one requires you to climb every mountain in Free solo Mode, meaning you have only the 6 point crampons and have to do everything again when you blackout due to permadeath, while being chased by not one but two seagulls.
The dev need to chill out, maybe look into some anger issues or smth, this is straight up sadistic

it just feels a bit extreme
especially since, after checking the achievements, only .2% have actually done everything in soloist, and NO ONE has done skyborne, some challenges are not worth achieving

The reasons he can get stronger crampon jumps is because, when you first travel to the second cabin it equips the 6 pointed crampons instead of the 10 pointed crampons. The ten pointed crampons give way stronger jumps.

I actually found the bug most prominently featured in this stream on my own; completely unaware the community as a whole had found it beforehand! It's a pretty easy trick to pull off (Super Crampton Jumps) where if you time a cramptom jump as you leave a surface, you can gain upwards of 5x the height and speed in less than a frame, allowing you to chain this to SPEED up mountains.
Very hold-knowledge dependent, very cool. Ruined the game for me early-on though since I figured there's entire levels you can basically skip with it.
Imagine if this game was multiplayer, and you're like 8 hours in at 6600m and this fucking shining gold guy just flies past you in like a second.

I almost feel like speedrunning it is a completely different challenge. You can take breaks between speedruns, crushing as a bad fall after your first 6000m run can be. But an 8 to 10 hour slow climb is a whole different beast.
I love how Spiff is so vehemently against calling it 3d getting over it but the only defense he has, that getting over it uses a hammer, proves that it really is

I have seen this persons other video about movement and what was said was, "If you have side mouse buttons you can swap between hands and pickaxes faster than 1 and 2 cause you don't have to let go of wasd in any way." and "Using pickaxes makes the grab more powerful." Or something along those lines.
I would just leave the room then look in the mirror and consider all my life choices, the amount of anxiety this mountain gave me just from your streams alone is enough for me, I actually did just that and now I feel bad because I in fact did not accomplish anything....
