I rock with the brother for real. His words are relatable to my life with the exception of a toxic home. My problem was that my dad was a quiet dude and I used to think he was soft because he was so quiet and because of that I was determined to be the opposite, not knowing that my dad was a mature man and dealt with problems as a mature man. Nonetheless, I grew up destroying a lot of relationships because of my ignorance. I’ve grown since then, turning to my dad for advice and guidance, understanding what it meant to be a mature man. It is a cycle and it starts with dads not being in the home (whether they bail or the women wont let them be around their children). The father is a woman's first love and is where she learns to respect men, value them and value herself. Relationships and the dating world will never recover because the home will never be the same.
That's true but you have to learned and be willingly to learn because you can't keep using that as an excuse going in your 20's and beyond. My father wasn't there my mama was the same but I choose to do better with The Lord willing I'll be 47 years old and I hold myself accountable because I know right from wrong. I feel if you still don't learn or you can't get through it then it's time to speak to a therapist.
@latoyakelly3683 i agree with you but this has not changed in society and probably never will because these same people when they grow up do the same thing later on in life when they have kids, they chuck the dad in favor of just force monetary support and not requesting the kids see their dad. I am going through that now. A loving dad who cannot see his kids. The cycle keeps repeating.

I thought if I showed him what genuine love was and what it felt like he would change. I told him he was worthy of that type of love, even though he had betrayed me several times and had broken my heart. Then, I realized he just wasn’t ready or just didn’t want it. He wasn’t in a space to see it and handle it with care.
I stayed for 5 years stayed down nd dumb then I got tired nd left 4 a Year no contact no nothing let him be free do him we have kids let him move how he wanted I moved around hard begged for another chance in front of his current situation ( hate he did that ) talked to the girl she was cool and moved on let him back goin on a year he is everything i ever needed him to be we needed that break you have you let them know you ain’t playing change or lose me period!
After being with sumbody for 11 years but I checked out emotionally after four years The rest of the years was waiting on him to be done . Crazy part of it he “claimed” he was over me and moved on yet he calls my phone and text me just to see if he is unblocked . Or if I would respond I ran from me and ran to me Lastly he 40 years and still don’t understand the problem is him He can’t keep a female for shit I hope whom ever gets his toxic ass I hope they keep him occupied
But see... and no shade but this is the cycle that must stop. You invested years into this man, knowing he was not going to change. Yet a nice man probably seemed boring to you when you were younger. This cycle not only makes women bitter, it makes those good men bitter when they get older. Leaving the good men to not want those same women when they get older (and they look for younger to get their chance for a happy fresh start) and the bitter woman does not want the bad guy anymore and is left stuck in between. We need the youth to get with the good guy regardless of if you think he is not fun because he is not bad. He is a blast, it's just we need to unlearn that toxic is fun because it is not. And that man will stay with his woman until they are 80 years old and have grand kids together and the kids will grow to see a healthy home.
