I remember exactly where i was when i heard and bought this. 93. I was getting a train across the uk for a job interview in Reading. There was a music store (HMV? Our Price? Virgin?) at Waterloo station. I went into look around, heard this album and said 'whats this?' walked out with the CD.
The best "Kraftwerk" track for the period after 1986, miles above what the "official" Kraftwerk has released in the past 34 years.... And it seems that even the gorgeous "Telephone Call" from 1986's "Electric Cafe" was in fact mostly composed (and sung) by Bartos.
@@astro-tbo9322 I think "TV" is a great song and Bartos song writing is pretty strong in this album, even though the songs lack a bit of character, being very derivative of Kraftwerk. And yes, I'm aware he is an ex-member of the band, but still. Also, the production is a bit amateurish, It sounds like a home recording, specially when compared with the level or perfectionism and attention to details of a Kreaftwerk production. Having said all that, I still think Esperanto is a brilliant album.
I've only ever heard this album on RUclips, and doubt there are many physical copies still out in the wild. But I blame the lack of polish on this being because of the limitations of compression on RUclips.
@@ThereMayBeLions I’ve got the CD and it sounds fantastic. This user has kindly uploaded the best quality versions of these songs available on RUclips and it’s lovely to see. Worth tracking down a CD if you can - maybe try discogs. It was never officially released on vinyl. I’ve heard plenty say this is more well produced and dynamic than The Mix.
I had this album. It was basically "TV" and lots of b-sides. I always wondered if the band lent Kart Bartos the blip drum samples, or if he borrowed them. But TV is lovely, and a bit sad because it's sort of pre-internet, pre-Netflix. Kraftwerk were generally subtler. The instrumental bit from 03:50 always brought a lump to my throat.
Andru Schtog дружище, она не классная, она превосходная! Ибо автор - это один из праотцов электро и технопопа! При всём моём уважении к JMJ... Kraftwerk forever!

It's understandable it wouldn't fit in Kraftwerk aesthetics. It hasn't that subtlety when speaking of the subject. And Karl's touch is clear in its rich melody, which at first blended well with Ralf and Florian's robotic tunes, but then it didn't, which led them to release a very heterogeneous LP side in Electric Café Side B. The Telephone Call would fit better in Elektric Music's debut album than in Electric Café
Karl ist der George Harrison von Kraftwerk. Was ein grandioses Meisterwerk, elegant und sophisticated.
absolutely love Karl Bartos, very different and talented man. defiantly marry him if I was 40 years older 😙
Amy Louise Very Nice Said By You! 😉
...or if he was 40 years younger :D

the real question is, did you get the job?

"Expo 2000" and "Vitamin" are pretty great.
@@justaguy1451 I agree that "Expo 2000" is really good, but "TV" is in another league (at least in my opinion)

*Big hugs from Russia, bros! We love electric!*
Просто Совершенство.Просто идеально.Спустя столько лет эта музыка Elektric Music звучит по прежнему свежо и совершенно.
Both Crosstalk and TV was sensational when they first dropped. Love this part with the very funky, unkraftwerky bassline 2:33 🙂
One of the best tracks of Electronic Music! Thanks Mr. Bartos!!
One of the best Elektric Music's songs.

Great track....
My favorite tune from an ex-kraftwerker. Wish they would have stayed together longer.

Also, yeah - and I could have edited the comment, but I couldn't be bothered - but it always reminded me a bit of the music from Deus Ex.
Ashley Pomeroy totally agree, very reminiscent of those great days of early electronic music
Ashley Pomeroy Bartos invented the 'blip drum samples' as you call them. This track is basically Music Non Stop (1991).
there's also the 'choir' which was first found on "Uranium" 1975
From the Vako Orchestron. Amazing piece of kit for the time.
brilliant
unbelievable that you can't get this record on itunes
+Juan Martinez I have the CD, fortunately. Thankful my Uncle gave it me, as it is a really good album

gotcha home - bought in Polska in early 90s - epic transformation

Would be really cool if there were a german language version of this track, like Kraftwerk used to do
