I met Dieter Meier a few years ago in the Panorama Bar / Berghain, I had a brief chat with him and then I was allowed to hug him for his music, the man is so likeable.

I guess that this applies to about 90% of bands across all genres. Give me a group/band, any group/band, that from album to album, released something that is diametrically opposed and unrecognisable (as the same band as well as the music) from their prior album or albums.

It's just some kind of celebration and a riot of sounds. Only Yello has this sound, I am very glad that at the age of 20 I discovered this group thanks to the album Stella. Domingo simply amazed me, I had never heard anything like it before. They have so many wonderful and incredible songs.
These are the same guys that made a song that consists of the words "oohh yeah, the moon, beautiful, the sun, even more beautiful, its such a good time really good time, bow bow, chic chicachica,".. And that one is the song they are most remembered by.... This is a hidden gem and honestly its better than their most known song
I think "Baby" is underrated as a whole... This album should be their visit card not "Oh yeah" even though I personally love this song too it's quircky and funny. But the sound production and the integrity of "Baby" are beyond this world.

It;s like a familiar yet new, like a song but also the intro to a show we saw when was little. It;'s cold yet warm, its empty yet full. It's just a paradox and it's so cool and was way way ahead of its time to repeat the cliche
For the first time in history, they resurrected at least 2 dinosaurs from ancient DNA, just for a few seconds in this video. I can't imagine how rich these guys must be.
Yello has so many great videos I've just been binging on them. Why weren't more of these on MTV? Can't see how I missed them in the 80's early 90's. Other than "I Love You" these are all new to me and absolute gems.
Love the early stuff too.. Solid Pleasure (1980), Claro Que Si (1981), You Gotta Say Yes To Another Excess (1983), Stella (1985). Love these custom videos too (The Race etc).
By 1992 MTV had gone from a groundbreaking forum for promote the new art of the Music Video to a glib, corporate channel promoting gluttony, and drunk triopical beach parties. There would be no audience for the innovative videos of Yello.
The album version of this song is so unimpressive, but the energy of this mix is bad ass. I had to do a RUclips conversion to mp3. The video is so creative and so much fun.

dude it would be dope if they went back to this, i was listening to pocket universe a few months ago and was blown away by how hardcore it sounds, especially on tracks such as "resistor", "touch yello" was really boring jazzy/deep house stuff but i couldn't get into it even though i love that type of music, "the eye" was also super cool and i loved the remixes they had on it (especially akufen remix of planet dada) but the stuff they've been releasing recently is dull

Des réalisations comme Domingo, Mean monday,...,restent de superbes réalisations. Dommage que je ne vous ai jamais vu en concert.
