Josh , Another great video, my bike is doing the same thing, sometimes it has compression and sometimes not , i will try these and see what happens . Did you get my tip i sent you ? Thanks again
Thanks. New clutch fibers and my clutch grabs so it won’t idle. I turned it back CCW to resistance and it’s better, not great, but shifting get sticky. Also when shifter is held down or up I can still feel some clutch engagement . Any other ideas it could be?
it is probably revving too much on idle when that happens the cen trif e cal weights are starting to do there job so if you can't slow the idle down a bit you need to start looking at motor tune
I just bought a used pit bike 110cc I've heard there all the same. My stud WILL NOT TURN either way with the nut completely off. I wanted to adjust it because it bangs into gear hard from neutral even after lowering the idle. I did change the oil. And possibly at some point it had the wrong oil in it. But that wouldn't explain why the stud is stuck. How do you replace that? Mines a tao tao pitbike. Not sure where to get that part and the side cover gasket.
My 2017 crf50 moves on its own when put in gear and the idle is set correctly. It sat for 2 years so could it be stuck clutch plates? If I put the bike on a stand and put it in gear the rear wheel starts spinning and I can’t stop it.
Does it stop when you push the shifter down and hold it down? That engages the clutch, letting off engages it, that how it works. It disengages the clutch and shifts at the same time, when you let of it engages , like letting out the clutch on a standard shift.
New plates adjusted, are a 1/4 turn out from ccw full lock on adj stud. As clutch fibers wear you make cw turns to adjust for wear. If you are almost all the way cw with adjustment stud and have slipping etc...time to replace clutch fibers.
Yeah this nut is not a factory nut. Should of said something but didnt think my camera would pick it up so clearly - Oh well. You'll need a 14mm for the factory nut.
Thanks for showing this. My 81 kick starter is very easy to kick and not moving piston. Going to try this procedure. Wildman RG3
Awesome video.
One of the best on RUclips.
Thank you for sharing.
Thank you. I had no idea that JASO-MA was pertaining to wet clutch suitibility.
This is just what I need my 83 ct70 kickstarter is slipping
Thanks very helpful👍
6:50 you meant to say *clockwise*. Thank you for the video very helpful!
yes clockwise, oops
Good tip about the car oil compared to bike oil
True ,not many can give a good explanation especially when some say just put any oil in it and it will still go !!!
Almost. The motorcycle oil has a friction modifier, not the other way around.

helo any idea why my z50r wont move under its own power even on first gear ?

Best way to replace that little adjust stud ?
Can you tell by looking at the adjusting screw for the clutch if your clutch plates are worn?
New plates adjusted, are a 1/4 turn out from ccw full lock on adj stud. As clutch fibers wear you make cw turns to adjust for wear. If you are almost all the way cw with adjustment stud and have slipping etc...time to replace clutch fibers.
@@VintageHondaMinis Thank you sir
Will the adjustment stud show more threads with new friction plates?
@@troycotsenmoyer6736 yes, b/c you turn it out CCW to set inital grab

My 5 year daughter old painted them. No shame LOL
As the father of a daughter, I absolutely believe you. 🙂

@@monkeysbnb529lighten up, he just asked a question. Guys don’t normally wear nail polish, hence the reasonable question.
Dude, at least touch up with nail polish when making a video. 😒
haha
♥️👍🥰🥰🥰🥰👍👍👍👍
The painted fingernails are distracting
Should you do the adjustment after the engine is warmed up? thanks
Baseline adjustment cold is fine. Make a fine adjustments as needed.
What if the stud won't turn to the left or right?
If you loosen the 14mm nut It should. Maybe time to pull cover and see what is going on.
@@VintageHondaMinis i just rebuilt the clutch. Loosened all the clutch cover bolts and it freed up. Thanks.
Stop with the nail varnish.
Don't worry I didn't transition, I snapped out of it.
@@VintageHondaMinis Glad to hear it. Good response.

Dude, what’s with the nail polish?
Very clear instruction but the fact that a man is wearing fingernail polish is weird. Hope that the Lord grants you repentance.
What does the “lord” have to do with anything? F off
dude your 14 mm is 13mm

Y do u have painted nails 🤔
6:50 You said counterclockwise when you should've said clockwise, right?
4:28 you say 14mm nut but then the wrench says 13mm on it. No big deal but I thought I'd point it out.
OEM is oversized 14mm hex nut, this bike had a standard 13mm installed
