    Interesting , in 2018 we set off from Gretna to The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, traffic was manic , nowhere to park the car, grandson became frustrated , so we went to Leith and came back to Gretna. May try in 2020 in our 10 foot caravan on our way down from doing the C500, it’s different when you have such a nice Camping and Caravanning Club to stay , makes a world of difference . My heart was in my mouth seeing all the traffic congestion. I bet all three of you were tired after such an exhausting day and drive. You did well.

    Sounds like a race car, not too quiet on the video. Pops can watch the telly, have some wine, and then leap into bed above the seats. Lovely.

    This looks very familiar because we had the Carthago version of it. You'll have found out by now that reaching across the dash to pull the windscreen blind up in the morning is wonderful exercise for the tummy muscles and you probably shifted the gear lever in the process! I thought the coach mirrors were a bit too big and obstructed my view, especially at roundabouts. After the first altercation (!) I learned to move my head backwards and forwards. The only annoying rattle came from that door, as Jenny has discovered. We had the 150 Comfortmatic with cruise control and it returned 28 mpg. It's quite tall and short wheel based so you've probably also found it gets blown around more than you're used to. We had a Hobby 750 before, and our first few trips in the Carthago were positively alarming until we got used to it.

    Very nice Bob and Jenny. From my experience as a former highway cop, it usually takes an experienced driver half an hour or so to get the feel of a vehicle you've never driven before, acceleration, braking, stability and general handling. Cheers from NZ.

    Great to see a video from an A Class, pleasant change. Interesting that its quieter as with the bigger boxy shape I thought it would perhaps be more "boomy". Not a fan of those dreaded mid-video adverts I have to say. Looking forward to seeing Scotland through those huge windows, have a great trip!

    We have a “little stubby aerial”. Watching others on site it seems to be far less problematic than setting up satellite. I usually have tuned the telly by the time my husband’s filled the water tank. We have only had to use the lead once (at Buxton when we were at the far left of the quarry site). Trees don’t appear to be an issue. As you rightly say, Bob, phones/tablets can be used for streaming non freeview or watching downloads - my husband secured a good deal for this purpose with our provider. We believe that as technology improves satellite dishes and domes on the roof will be a thing of the past.

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo

    Congrats on the new purchase, I look forward to seeing you take delivery. I noticed that it has a Euro6 engine... I assume that the B stands for adblue which I discovered it needs.
    I have a 2017 Australian Jayco based on a Fiat Ducato with the Euro 6 engine and it doesn't require adblue? I don't think any of the Fiat, Iveco and Mercedes based motorhomes in this country require adblue. Our emissions laws must be much lower than those in the UK?

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  4 года назад

      The Fiat Ducato Euro 6B does not use Ad Blue. It is the Euro 6D that does and falls under the new expensive Wehicle Excise Duty.
