After knowing the pain and joy of growing rice in Vagabond. (If you've read it until then)
The Farm Arc has so many great moments for Thorfinn and many other characters that’ll be introduced later on. Askeladd’s final moment was probably the most intense/emotional scene I’ve ever read in a manga series. This arc still holds up and I think you’re going to enjoy it.
Vinland saga is a pretty underrated gem atm. Glad to see the anime service this scene and manga well!

The quality dropped after the farming arc in my opinion.

Yea, I'm very sad that such a quality series doesn't have the same the quality as it was, at this point, I don't even mind if it's had endless hiatus likes berserk and vagabond if Vinland will still had it's quality likes before.

Askeladd isn't truly dead, he's just healing his wounds before he returns to Wales.
Is that a reference to something im sure ive heard it before in a different context but dont remember lol

Vinland gets very different moving forward, but it’s still such a beautiful manga. The emotion is so real, and trust me you’ll get more Canute.
As soon as I finished the anime when it was releasing on a week to week basis I immediately bought 6 of the volumes and breezed though the story like no other. I absolutely love vinland saga it’s so good. As far as the farmland arc I like the way it takes it’s time to build the characters and it’s plots and all the hard work that goes into being a farmer at the time. And the way it wraps up and takes you to the next arc is just amazing. Lots of powerful moments and great themes and philosophies get tapped into and it’s great. I’m 100% certain you’re gonna enjoy it.
Somethings you should know about the farm arc is that Thorfinn finally gains a sense of agency/purpose. With both his father figures dead we see how he takes the ideals of both of them in order to become a true warrior. One thing that haunts Thorfinn though is that he realizes the ten years of revenge wasn't for nothing, guilt ultimately clashes with his change.

The next arc is my favourite arc in all of manga, hope you enjoy it as much as I did
FARMLAND SAGA HERE WE COME
Thorfinn became one of my favorite characters at the farming arc. Too bad he declines for me afterwards, though i wont spoil. Einar is pronounced a bit differently btw. It rhymes with Reiner from AoT. I know since i'm danish.

askeladd was the most badass guy after his death the series was never the same sadly liked the early arcs better than the feelgood stuff going on in the recent chapters. cool review keep it up ryan and dont hurt urself with that knife

Canute taking Askeladd from Thorfinn was the ultimate blue balls unsatisfied moment, yet that was always how it was going to be. Sad in a way.
You are about to enter one of the best arcs in manga.
