I think it's brilliant that "Broadway, here I come" can mean either he's going to reach Broadway/fame or that he's falling from a building downwards towards Broadway the street, his suicide.
I'm high above the city I'm standing on the ledge The view from here is pretty And I step off the edge And now I'm fallin', baby Through the sky, through the sky And I'm fallin', baby through the sky It's my callin', baby Don't you cry, don't you cry And I'm fallin' down through the sky Toward the street that I'm from Oh, Broadway, here I come Broadway, here I come The pressure it increases The closer that I get I could almost go to pieces But I'm not quite there yet See, I've been bravin' crazy weather Drownin' out my cries I pull myself together I'm focused on the prize I'm fallin', baby Through the sky, through the sky I'm fallin', baby through the sky It's my callin', baby Don't you cry, don't you cry 'Cause I'm fallin' down through the sky And it's a tune you can hum Oh, Broadway here I come Mmmmmmmm Will I remain the same Or will I change a little bit? Will I feel broken or totally complete? Will I retain my name when I'm the biggest, hugest hit? Or will I blend in with the rest of the street The people all are pointing I bet they'd never guess That the saint that they're anointing Is frightened of the mess But even though I fear it I'm playin' all my cards... Baby, you are gonna hear it When I give them my regards I'm fallin' baby Through the sky, through the sky Now I'm fallin', baby through the sky It's my callin', baby Don't you cry, don't you cry And I'm fallin' down through the sky And I refuse to go numb Oh, Broadway here I come Broadway, here I come Broadway, here I come Oh, Broadway, Broadway, here I come Here I come! And the last thing I hear As the impact grows near Is it a scream or a cheer? Well, never mind, I'll never find out 'Cause Broadway I am here
:,( I loved the uncertainty of this song. I loved not knowing if it was about a guy trying to rough through the hard life of being an actor or if it was about a guy jumping off a building.
WHY WAS THIS SHOW EVER CANCELED? All the season 2 cliff hangers and general feels. There is not a Monday morning commute moment that goes by where I don't curse its cancellation.
Waige Jisbon not usually, but they just aired a musical special episode this week for flash. Its on here on RUclips look for "flash put a little love in your heart" for the song Jeremy's in
This song is so deep oh my god. I loved smash when I was a bit younger, but I wasn't this analytical when I watched. I am now & wow, this is some good music. It really shows how being an actor, shooting big, is similar to suicide in many ways. Also how suicide is similar to showbiz in the way people come to view. Beautiful & haunting analogy; love it. Also, vooooocals! *cries vigorously*
. Omg I love this song and I love Jeremy Jordan so much he is amazing he is truly a god omg this is long but I listened to this song every night and morning I wanna be on Broadway but yay Jeremy Jordan is amazing and a inspiration to me 🖤
No, this is Broadway star Jeremy Jordan. He starred in Newsies and was nominated for a Tony Award for his performance. Jeremy Jordan is also his real name unlike the person you're talking about.
That's not what I was saying. The uncertainty of weather it was a song about suicide, or a metaphor about Broadway that had nothing to do with suicide. The latter seems to be deeper to me, less a face value, and not knowing either makes it deeper still.
This was my favorite song I shared with bestie who committed suicide in highschool. I will always here this song and think of you my sweet older brother like friend
I think songs can really be interpreted 1000 ways, and my interpretation is that the falling through the sky, isn't suppose to be taken literally, and is more about surrendering, taking risks, and focusing on your dreams.
I believe this song has two different meaninings. There's the first one, where someone is litterally killing them selves."I'm high above the city,I'm standing onk the ledge. The veiw from here is pretty, and I step off the ledge." Or there's the second one meaning that putting yourself out there is a lot like jumping off a building. You have to take a leap of faith.
Actually, when the Diva sings it, the song is considered a pre-reprise. Then Amanda sing it, and at the end there is an actual reprise sung again by Amanda.
actually the first time Karen heard Jimmy sing this was at the bar before they started collaboration of the show. The diva was added as a character in hit list during process after the reading. They made her a bigger character because the critics liked the Diva (played by Anna) and Derrik one day chose to have the diva start the show with an excerpt from this- Karen's characters song that makes her famous later and Karen's favorite song in Hit list which is why Anna and Karen get in a fight
No, it was "[They Just Keep] Moving the Line." Caught in the Storm was the song Karen sang at the party after the book writer had smuggled her Jeremy's songs.
It was amazing right? It's called 'They Just Keep Moving the Line' They haven't released it as a single yet :( But it's in the Bombshell album that's being released on the 12th.
You really should it's a tv show obsession though that might be my massive love for Christian Borle talking to me and he plays an amazing character along with Jeremy he plays my second favorite character.
I disagree... In the story line of Hit List, the song is originally sung by the Diva as she is making here way to kill Nina/Amanda and then the reprise is sung by Amanda while she is contemplating suicide. No one in the show actually commits suicide so the lyrics cannot be taken literal in context (no one goes splat on Broadway), they have a more solid interpretation in the metaphorical sense. Unless I'm wrong about the song being written for the show.
Amazing how I can totally adore this version of the song (he is an amazing singer) but hate the fact they included him on the show with the boring storyline of the ''repentant'' addict turned super talented artist... So blahh... couldn't they have given him a more interesting story? And the love-triangle is getting old... Deren already please?!!!
I think it's brilliant that "Broadway, here I come" can mean either he's going to reach Broadway/fame or that he's falling from a building downwards towards Broadway the street, his suicide.
Yes. I've never seen an entire song be a double entendre. I love that about it.
@@rogalla9302 When you drop a note and hit a high one, you're not dying or suicidal, your at your best.
It could also be about a social suicide of him giving up everything to reach Broadway
This man's talent on the keys, guitar, vocal chords, and actor wise is just incredible! I love Jeremy Jordan
Pro tip : you can watch series at KaldroStream. I've been using them for watching all kinds of movies these days.
@Sincere Harrison Definitely, been watching on Flixzone} for since december myself =)

WHY WAS THIS SHOW EVER CANCELED? All the season 2 cliff hangers and general feels. There is not a Monday morning commute moment that goes by where I don't curse its cancellation.
Well, NBC moving it to Saturdays and all the behind the scenes drama between the original showrunner and the producers didn't help..
I can't believe this got cancelled the music coriagraphy and cast were on point
This song gives me the feels
Anyone else here in 2020? Probably maybe the best song in smash... season 2 at least
I can't even. Can they PLEASE make Hit List an actual musical? I would be there in a heartbeat.
He is amazing. I first saw him in Joyful Noise and everything I see him in is awesome so this season will be awesome. He is amazing.
who's excited to see Jeremy Jordan in the "Last Five Years" movie???
he will also sing on the Flash/Supergirl crossover episode *-*
YellowGiraffeGal They sing on those shows?

How did such a crappy show like Glee last for so long, and this amazing series get canceled?
tell me about it 😕
cfjermedal1 as crappy as your pointless comment?
I wish I can reach a Bb like that in the end. That was amazing.

Amazing song, thanks for sharing !
