Being a Brazilian, I am ashamed. This is the type of image that we, as brazilians, do not want to pass on to the world, but unfortunately there is a lot of oportunistic and crook behavior in our car market - specially in the classic car market.
Traduz aí Korn. Roubaram em qual país? Não sei inglês.
olha só que mundinho pequeno, achei o Korn por acaso...
Hey Paulo! What about make a video in your own channel to tell brazilians gearheads this unfortunately history? It would be greatful to see this peculiar scene being passed through ahead!
Well said Korn. Im British living in Brazil and follow your channel. Sadly this is the image ... corruption and bribery. Guy was lucky to get his money back. Mexeu com italiano, e se lascou. Final feliz mas imagina o estresse!

Just for the record, this car was known for a long time in Sao Paulo, which is located thousands of kilometers away of any "Jungle". It is a bit old-fashioned idea to refer to Brazil as a jungle. Whoever called you to tell about the car, should visit the country more often.
true, is sad how ignorant this guy is , I guess he is just an average gringo , he belief that all brazil is the amazon
Agree, Rio is the largest urban jungle. Pretty cool in some ways. I lived there for 1 1/2 years, which was long enough. There are very very few cool cars.
@@253ful Yeah, silly Gringo. Everyone knows you guys replaced the rain forest with tarmac, bio-fuel crops and housing estates.
@@253ful and it's gets smaller everyday as it's cut down !!
I live in the American state of Colorado, when I tell people that have never actually been to Colorado that they always say "Oh you live in the mountains!". I live 200 miles from anything even vaguely resembling a mountain. 😂
Dear friend from Brazil, who speaks incredible Portuguese - 🥳 HELLO
imagine in Portugal there is a guy who speaks an incredible Brazilian
Remembers every single detail about every story he tells, but cant remember why he didn't go to Brazil .Thinks it was because he was getting over a cold. That's code for "I was scared shitless to go to Brazil" LOL
I saw the car recently in Italy. It's almost ready
Incredible! It deserves the proper restoration.
yes it does!
great story, needs a more engaging story teller
Photos? Video?
didn't take a picture. not possible
Glad it worked out for you. That was a fasinating tale. Thanks for posting it.
Wow, what an amazing story!!! I'm from Portugal, and it is quite exciting to know that an original SV was delivered here!!! I had never heard anything about this!
A lot of BS on this story. The seller was a crook, though.
I mean... a couple hours from São Paulo its still pretty far com the Amazon, the "jungle" is not the entire country you know
Aspen no we don’t know. We’ve been lied to. We we told Brazil is all trees and they are on fire and being cut down
Love watching these videos. Some people have the ability to tell stories an an interesting way and some don’t. You got it.
Hi John! Another great story I loved watching! Too bad this Miura didn't end up in your hands, but please continue putting together videos like this! Love hearing of interesting situations like this in our industry, Thanks!
Great story, but amazon jungle snake??? Come on... amazon is a remote territory here in brazil, that most of brazilian never been and never will be. Its a lot easier to us to go to florida than amazon.
Not only that but the snake would have been dead by the time it arrived in Italy, a bunch of bull shit that’s what it is
Toda a região norte se encontra na Amazônia, não é um território remoto. Se realmente estava na Amazônia, poderia ter sido em uma capital como Belém ou Manaus mas eu acho pouco provável tbm.
@@joshuagiuffre247 Not necessarily. If it was a constrictor like an Anaconda and had recently eaten a large animal like a deer for example, is possible that it could go for several weeks without needing to eat again and of course Anacondas are found all through South America not just the Amazon. Not saying there was or wasn't a snake found -- just the it is possible perhaps.
i am guesing that there was a small snake that was found dead in t he car or a small snake shed it`s skin in there. And every time the story got told the snake grew a feet or to. To the paint that when the story got told on YT it is a masive snake like the one from the movie: Anaconda...
Your massive snake is what someone else has encounters with on a regular basis.
We don't have many snakes in Europe so if a 6ft snake slithers out of a car that would be a massive snake.
As for the snake surviving the trip, I used to keep corn snakes one day one escaped(kids left the door slightly open)I found it 5 weeks later in the loft in poor condition but alive.
Great story! And good to hear the car is getting the restoration and will see the road shortly. Another one brought back!
You've got a new fan from México. Please keep these great stories coming. 👍
Wow what a crazy story! Loved hearing it
Fascinating story,,, Thank you for sharing. We just love all your videos. 👍😍👍
Another awesome story Jon! You have such a unique and interesting life. Also great taste in furniture love that mid century modern chair. Very evil villian style.
Wow I was literally on the edge of my seat with this one! Wow!!!!
Mind blowing story! Loved it

10:45 Wow I'm very surprised someone from Brazil speaks incredible portuguese rofl
que maldade kkkkkkkkkkk
Great story John! Brazil is an interesting place .
Some of these car stories are just incredible.. I can listen to these stories all week long.. this was a good one for sure.. It would be better to see the car restored 👍
Would have been better if there wasn’t a bunch of little lies and exaggerations throughout like the snake part, that’s a total lie
Crazy deal bud!!! I love your story telling!!!
I'm originally from Brazil and I can't find a single article to confirm this story in Portuguese or in English... Trust me... a story related to a Lamborghini Miura in Brazil, it would had been in every single news story and the guy would be in jail and you would never have seen your money again... Now prove me wrong... show prove of the story... or if anyone find a single article to confirm something please share the link.
It seems that brazil have apartaments in the jungle.
ora ora, olha quem eu encontro por aqui
Crazy story! And thanks God was solved! I am from Brazil, and is a shame that it happened, sadly we have some people who are not honest, but is not the majority. But is the imagine that the others countries have about us. Thanks for share this history.
amazing video!
I didn't go too deeply into this, but I think there is a still a silver Miura in Portugal, possibly at the Caramulo Museum.
I'm sitting listening to John and then... "are they sub machine guns in those show cases !!?" 😳
People think Brazil is only a big jungle ( Amazon) 🤦🏻♂️
you have some sharp cannibals also
But it is. Isn't it?
@@duschiavon bro sao paulo is twice bigger than new york 🤣
Wild story, the kind of car that people would passionately chase for sure, hope to see pics of it when it’s finished
For sure the most expensive 'puzzle' I've ever seen 👍
Another good story John 👍🏻👍🏻
Your viewer from Malaysia
Cheers to our friends in Malaysia! Thank you!!
Finally, a more appropriate shirt.
Nice!
Lots of dear friends
Nice story ! But doesn’t need to say in the middle of the jungle in Brazil ! Because it wasn’t there! There is no apartment in the middle of jungle ! A little bit xenofóbic kinda desrespctfull 👍🏽
You should have pride in your jungle, not be ashamed of it.
In Maryland There was a red Miura Running around in Macgomery County last I saw it was about three years ago beautiful car but I never realized truly how significant that they are and I’ve been in the car from a community my whole life And have owned a couple exotics myself
Does anyone know if the restoration of this Miura was documented online? Curious to see how it turned out.
What a bloody nightmare! I have bought a couple of cars sight unseen but nothing of any real value. Don't think I'd have been able to sleep too well during that fiasco.
THE ULTIMATE LAMBORGHINI RUclips CHANNEL!
The story could make a nice classic car movie.
Great story John. I bet you we’re happy to get out of that deal with your money back. I think I had been contacted by the owner of that car in Italy last year some time
The other Miura has a more complex story. It was sold to a Portuguese lawyer, with business in Angola, which was then a Portuguese colony. During Angola's war of independence, refugees fled to Brazil with their belongings, in small fishing boats. Many arrived with their cars on the deck of the boats - Ferraris, Mercedes, jaguars and this same Miura (the Jaguars should have been dumped into the sea, LOL). These people were received as refugees and their cars were given a special license as “luggage”, to be registered without paying import taxes, and to receive ownership title and license plates. There are pictures of these boats arriving at the ports in São Paulo and Santa Catarina states ( O ESTADA DE SÃO PAULO newspaper, for example)
This car has been in São Paulo in at least 2 workshops - Gancia ( Ferrari authorized dealer, mr. Gancia was VP at FIA, the heir of Cinzano drink company and a close friend of Enzo himself, he had the same nomination letter as Luigi Chinetti’s) and Manolo´s - a former Gancia chief mechanic and Alfa Romeu specialist ( he managed Gancias Racing team Jolly with the 2,000 GTAM). This car suffered with the local low octane gas rate - Only 78 ROM at the time. This car was well Known by the sports car community in São Paulo and Brasilia.
This lawyer returned to Portugal, and sold the car, which had a personal title linked to him, and with a problem with the fuel system. Nobody ever heard about the Portuguese lawyer again.
Due to the lack of proper import documentation, it changes hand many times, and ended in the hands off a businessman with links with the federal government ( more links than businesses, if you get the idea). The car was sized at least twice by the tax authorities, and returned to him, which also had a feud within his family. So the car ended in a barn just outside Brasilia, in Goias state.
In the end he made a judicial procedure known as “adverse possession”, which you justify that you are in the possession of something - car, home, land, etc- for more than 10 years and request the correct registration. Remeberring also that the importation duty had long expired, so Tax Revenue could not oppose the registration. So, after the legal procedure the car could be registered and exported to Italy, where it was rebuilt ( I hope at Polo Storico Lamborghini)
This is the story of the car.
I'm Portuguese cool story 👍
Left us hanging....wheres the car, is it done, updated pics! Would be so cool!
Great story. Luckily it worked out for you in the end but it definitely created a lot of stress.
from 0-16.35 is a waste of time.
It would be incredible to stop by the showroom and see the cars. Is the showroom open to visitors?
Yes! Come by anytime Monday to Friday 10am - 6pm
Fuck, that is such a cool story! I could listen to this stuff forever. I'd love to see somebody hot rod one of these cars!!
I have some information for you about the 2 Miuras you posted. The green one was imported by the Italian embassy in Rio, and I think it still belongs to the Italian consulate, because the embassy moved to Brasilia. I saw this car in 1998 at two oficians in São Paulo, one to service the engine and the other to repair the air conditioning. I saw that the timing belt tensioner was damaged and an adaptation was made with a VW belt and a GM command belt tensioner. The store that did this was PROSCHASKAR, well known in São Paulo.
Oficians = motorshop
We want more videos from you!!!
I am pretty sure the snake part is just bogus tossed there to add something more bizarre to it though
I am Brazilian and i Hate when other brazilians do that kinda stuff, put all of us as scamers, but not all of us are, some of us, like the current president are but not all.
For the Brazilians
Brasileiro fazendo o Brasil passar vergonha no mundo automotivo pqp, orgulho de ser brasileiro? Eu tenho é vergonha
There are scammers all over the world.
@@ClassicCarCustodians But in Brazil there is even more, such a God forsaken place.
Crazy shit! 👍
I know that the brazilian car market of exotics has it's bad reputation
But when dealing with us latinos, is not enought to be a especialist of the product you are buying, you need to know where it actually is and from who you are buying from.
If he really think that a car like that is stored somewhere in the amazon jungle or there is a jungle "a couple hours from São Paulo"... well there is where the fiascos came from.
The italians problably just payed more for the car and anderstood the burocracy better. Again they knew the envoiriment, not just the Miura... and they must be laughting a lot now that they know that they know besides buiyng your car that the Americans actually believed that was a snake inside the car
the snake was the sellers final attempt
Had you contacted Edson Arantes Do Nascimento (Pele), he would have snapped his fingers and the Miura would have been packaged with a bow and delivered directly to the USA. Pele is King.
Lots of South American Scammers out there.. I met a few in South Florida, they wanted to steal cars from Preston Hen's collection, Larry Wilson's and a few others in Florida. Scammers are looking to get lead poisoning..!!!
Give him $50,000 min and you too could be a dear friend.
Yes, he has a lot to dear friends, but no buddies.
What kind of watch is that?
Minutes went by, hours went by, days went by, weeks went by, ok John get to the story.
As a firearms enthusiast, I am really REALLY curious about those AKs in the display cases behind you. 😂
They are non-functioning art pieces, but they are pretty damn cool.
Anyone knows the name of the portuguese lawyer?
Ya queria saber o mesmo
This is like the luis vuitton version of vinwiki lol
A million plus car ,,as is and you threw 90 grand at it,not surprised
more aaahs and errrs than words turning off after a minute
There is also a brand new black Carrera GT in Brazil. Apprehended because of taxes.
So happy to hear a story where a stolen car comes home to the correct person. We all knew some one or it has happend to our self that there is some sort of theft in the Motor world. And so many of them stories just ends up with the car/bike/engine just goes missing forever. Even bether that it was something as rear and special as this car that Got a new like ones again instead of just rotting away or being sold for parts. But AK window stickers in the background in the video.... Made me laugh so hard... You dont put up AK window stickers....
U paid just under 2 million for a car that you knew was gonna need work sight unseen.. damn bro didn't you see the thumbnail to this video? You could have learned a lot just from that picture alone
What's the story with those AK47's in the background? Very curious..
Tivesse enviado por PAC dos correios tinha recebido a lambo

@Curated TV by John Temerian We're in the same business so my question is, with such a large transaction, why didn't you and your dad just get on a plane to go to Brazil and check the car out first, see the owners/sellers, make sure everything is ok and then proceed from there? Would cost a lot less for plane tickets than a $90K deposit.
The history is so crazy that it's hard to believe. First thing is change the snake for some mices and dogs....
"Miura For Dummies...." is that book available?
I have a spare Left Rear Quarter Panel off Bob Wallace's S
the snake likely made it onto the ship by some other means then slithered into the car during transport
Unfortunately not everyone has a thing for keeping their word anymore...
You pay $90K and you do not spend $2000 on a travel to Brazil? That is what it would have cost round trip.
brazil hummmmm
Ak’s in the windows what’s up with that
Great story....wrong music.
Lots of talk and nothing else?
Sounds like a made up story. Just put a jewel in the raw and Brazil and you have a great start point
this video just goes to show how much a one owner low mile car is really worth...... it was a pile a junk but hey 10.000miles ffs
Escrow is your friend
Smiling BS. Guy feels BS. 2M? Come on.
Bullllllllkshit
Great story who cares if it is in the jungle or not...geez people get a grip.
Thats why here we use to say Brasil não é para iniciantes or "Brazil is not for beginners", the Carrera GT story and now this one!! Just to leave a note, after all this time, the first from the Carrera GT situation started to pop up on the market: a manual 997.1 TURBO with no miles -> www.webmotors.com.br/comprar/porsche/911/3-6-6-cilindros-24v-turbo-gasolina-2p-manual/2-portas/2008/28861184?pos=a28861184g:&np=1
Lol. ....He said TITANIC
The snake was the original owner
Where is the story
The guy selled the car for more money. Common story...
Definitely a flood car that additionally was exposed to the hot high humidity air of the jungle. The worst possible condition for anyone not ready for a full but and bolt restoration. Car just waiting for it’s value to exceed the cost of repair to get it on the path to its second life. Awesome to see these cars revived to their former glory.
Alex Martinez don’t believe in that jungle part 😂
Flood ? Ok. Jungle ? Nope...
nut and bolt?
it takes 5 seconds to search sao paulo and you will see that is a big ass city
Forest? Give me a break... the car was in a city that (for your knowledge) is bigger than ANY American city... go to study!
why are people so crooked and dishonest and feel the need to rip other people off, if you have a car and someone offers to but it for 2 million dollars why wouldn't the seller be happy with that, ...just hand over the car and accept the money? ...but no...the seller wants to be greedy and dishonest and to try and ruin other people, ....what a disgusting person.
The amazon snake story is 100% bullshit tho
