The legend runs as follows. After a battle, only an injured young boy survives. A she-wolf finds the injured child and nurses him back to health. He subsequently impregnates the wolf which then gives birth to ten half-wolf, half-human boys. One of these, Ashina, becomes their leader and founds the Ashina clan that ruled the Göktürks and other Turkic nomadic empires.

A lot of people don't like the Twilight books, but I love that the author used a real tribe. The stories are amazing, both the real ones and the ones in the book.

"Hi'cha kwa" -- "Greetings" in Quileute. What the Quileutes believe in is what is known as totemism. That is the reason why totem poles are so common among the Northwest Coast Native Americans. It is the believe that they are descendants of an animal. Hopefully, we can learn more about the Quileutes, than just from a silly motion picture. How about learning their language, where all their legends are held. When you lose a language, you lose a culture. Let us not lose the Quileute culture

I seen a light in the woods camping near this land, Forks, La Push area, a place where you are not allowed to have electricity or plumbing. It was a ball of light that radiated for a min and then it slowly "melted like lava" into the ground - that's how it was physically when it went into the ground, like how the lava moved in those retro lamps.

@TwilightAtLaPush I have taken an interest in the Quileute Nation. Yes i was originally aware of the Quileute due to Twilight, but i have wanted to delve deeper than the books. It frightens me that there is the possibility of losing such a rich culture. I am glad there are those who attempt to preserve the culture. I hope that Meyer's attention to the Quileute has brought the attention of readers to this tribe and perhaps create avid interest to document and preserve the culkure and traditions.

    • @lucyk2634

I agree with you. It also frighten me to loose such a rich culture. I want to go to their forests and lands and discover what ought to be forgotten and make sure it isn't. Maybe even bring to the light of wider population all stories.
