The twilight movie series actually used real native Americans in the cast besides Taylor Launter who is only a little bit native in real life. All the actors were from tribes on the east coast but they did try to accurate about a tribe on the pacific coast.
Grew up in Fork. Huey Simmons is my Uncle. His parents t were Pat & Earl Penn in La Push. Spent many times at their home growing up. Thank you! I remember you both from Quileute Days and at the school.
Sorry I must have a brain fart. Lol. I did work at the tribal school for 11 years. Then moved away to Anaheim. Was nice to see Lynn here at Elders Week. She was making a drum. I haven't seen her since she played basketball with me in high school. 1983.
A lot of people don't like the Twilight books, but I love that the author used a real tribe. The stories are amazing, both the real ones and the ones in the book.
I seen a light in the woods camping near this land, Forks, La Push area, a place where you are not allowed to have electricity or plumbing. It was a ball of light that radiated for a min and then it slowly "melted like lava" into the ground - that's how it was physically when it went into the ground, like how the lava moved in those retro lamps.
Who knows, my maternal grandfather might be an descendant of this tribe, and his wolf shifting gene might be dormant, and passed it down to me, and it suddenly became active again after many years.
Twilight isn't real it's fiction there is a guy named kwàti and that's our language for the Creator and he changes us into people because a long time ago we were once wolves
I was just wondering where I could find a credit for this short film? and possibly others like it? I'm currently working on a research paper about indigenous representations in Twilight, so if anyone can help me out with this it would be great! thank you!
The legend runs as follows. After a battle, only an injured young boy survives. A she-wolf finds the injured child and nurses him back to health. He subsequently impregnates the wolf which then gives birth to ten half-wolf, half-human boys. One of these, Ashina, becomes their leader and founds the Ashina clan that ruled the Göktürks and other Turkic nomadic empires.
"Hi'cha kwa" -- "Greetings" in Quileute. What the Quileutes believe in is what is known as totemism. That is the reason why totem poles are so common among the Northwest Coast Native Americans. It is the believe that they are descendants of an animal. Hopefully, we can learn more about the Quileutes, than just from a silly motion picture. How about learning their language, where all their legends are held. When you lose a language, you lose a culture. Let us not lose the Quileute culture
I am a Maori woman from New Zealand my tribe is Ngapuhi, and Ngati Haua, i have been to Quileute an was amazed at how much it looks like my home town in NZ, along with the many traditions and and customs our cultures are very much alike, i would like to learn more :)

The entire black family in the movies is made of all native Americans. Taylor Launter is only a little bit native.
And she copyrighted their cultural imagery and didn't offer compensation. She's a cunt and so are all who worship her books.
@@xwrtk im todays years old to know that taylor lautner got native genes in his blood. so, he is indigenous?
@@clerith Not exactly. It’s pretty low so it doesn’t fully count.
