New subscriber here! I believe I am growing a Peruvian Apple Cactus in my back yard. I got a cutting from my dad’s big cactus, which was a cutting that came from my grandma’s cactus. My grandma’s cactus reached 25’ tall with a single trunk like a column before being snapped in half in a hurricane (We live in North Central Florida). When I first got the cutting from my dad, it was about a foot tall with no roots. That was two years ago and it is now 8’ tall in the ground!!! So a VERY fast grower for a cactus. Mine has not bloomed yet but my dad’s did last year and this year. The bloom or blooms only stay open for one night and then they close up and fall off, leaving a purple fruit that is edible. The bloom is white and huge! The cactus almost resembles the one in your video but I know it must not be the same since that flower is opened up in the day time. Since I do live in Florida, as you know we are very hot and humid, but it doesn’t mind if it gets a lot of water or no water. It just seems to grow faster the more rainfall we have in the summer. Is it possible to shoot you over some pictures of it? Maybe you could help me truly identify it. There are so many different cactuses when searching the web; I just don’t know for sure. Lol
