Nice, where are you from ?
Land lobster 🦞!
I bought one from a Tucson nursery back in April 2020. Back then it was 9" tall now it's 24" tall 👌. I love this species of 🌵!
Me too! Thats why i post them so much! Did you see the short i posted last week about my variegated Saguaro?
Is this the right time to harvest those seeds?
These ones are nearly fully ripe, but the seeds are viable at this stage.
Yes please video! Love mammalaria!
Ill try to film it today after work!
Beautiful
Thank you 🌵
Love this thinking of growing from seed monsoon rains sounds good!
You should! I did it years ago but i need to get back into seed growing 🌵
@@CactusUncle I’ve been trying different methods this year next year ill have everything fine tuned! Love ya Uncle! Hope I stumble across something variegated!!
@@corneliuswalrus keep me in the loop i want to see what you grow! ❤️
Love a weirdo cactus! I was wondering if you can explain why some columnar cactus are thinner at the bottom and bulge at the top as they grow? My Polaskia chicipe is doing that and I thought I was doing something wrong
That heavy spination helps! Prestine :)
Thats right!
Uma linda bebendo água
❤️🐍
Lindo
Maravilhoso esse cacto
Thank You!
Lindissimo 💚
Scorpions scare me so much
Me too, i can do spiders and snakes but scorpions are little terrors 😅
Oh wow! Those are big!
I have scorpions 2 times that size at my house.
Awesome!
Dang 😂
Yeah i agree! 🤣
These guys scare me WAY more than the Rattlesnakes 😅😅
Ikr😭
Wow that's unusual! Very unique 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
🎉🎉🎉 so bright and vivid! Is that your only one or do you have more?
@@cactusjeff77 it is my only one, but if you give me 75 years i might have seeds to share 🤣🤣🌵
@@CactusUncle I can do that… let me get into my delorean and meet you! 😂
Yes ❤
Yes please!!
Yes I would like to see how replant
👍🌵
Nice pup! Peruvianus is definitely my favorite.
Its taking the phoenix extreme heat very well!
Cute belly buttons
I will post a video tomorrow showing how big they have gotten!
Thats not ripe the pink fruits are commonly red inside not green thats why prickly pear jam has a vibrant red and or magenta color to it the red can also come out pretty dark
Technically they are ripe when they go from green fruit to red (seeds are viable and ready), but you are correct that if left on the plant longer more of the flesh would have turned red which is better for eating.
Ive always been fond of them.
tuna
Bro has hands of steel bro
Reminds me of a kiwi
They are called tunas its a Mexican thing NOT prickly pear
Mexico is apart of North America, so it can naturally be found outside of Mexico. It is a prickly pear, it is also tuna.
It’s definitely prickly pear. I live in Phoenix and they are all over. You can actually eat the whole plant.
Well you clearly dont know shit about ehat tour talking about thats for damn sure they are called pricky pears but in a way your right because the fruits are called tunas
The cactus is a prickly pear, the fruit on it is called tuna 🌵
@@CactusUncle oohhh! Dang, I need to add “I think” 😭
The best cactus fruit 🤤🤤🤤
😋
Tuna
Yes 🌵
It tastes so good too!
What does it taste like
It has a bubblegum type flavor and is nice and sweet
Tuna
@@user-se2qq6ux9x imagine tasting a really sweet watermelon and pear flavor
I know what’s in those things because of Fowlers Makery and Mischief- 30 day survival challenge, Texas
Nice! Im curious what that event is now!
🐱🌵❤️
Beep beep, Vrooooooomm
Hi uncle cactus you have a beautiful collection I was wondering if you happen to sell seeds by chance?
Not yet but i will work on that, my site is www.cactusuncle.com
🌵
Hydrate or diedrate!
Where is Wile E.? How about the Acme Anvil? (why Acme? What was that all about?)
Ive also never heard it go "Meep Meep" 🤔
117 in Phoenix is normal. You moved there didn't you?
Born and Raised ☀️ and its certainly not 'normal' to be 117° for a whole week. We generally only get around 20 days over 110°.
@@CactusUncle oh a whole ass week? Yeah thats not normal then lmao
@@blender0118 i just keep chugging water and finding shade 😅 i love working outside but these temps get to ya! 🙏 for me 🤣
Humidity is way worst than a dry heat, beautiful Phoenix weather😂
@@MannyGunzz agreed! I can take the dry heat!
Beautiful
💦💧🌵
❤😅
How does it taste like
Barrel cactus fruit are edible but not very tasty imo, kind of tart. You should try one someday!
❤
I bought one of these from home Depot, but it wasn't called an Argentine giant the lable said "sungodese cactus"
Sungodess is a cultivar, its stays a little smaller than regular argentine giant but they are basically the same thing
@@CactusUncle when I bought it back in July 2019 the employee at home Depot said it can get up to 5 feet tall. I highly doubt this but so far it is almost 2 ft tall. Do you know how tall it gets?
Cactus 🌵 kitty 😺!
Yeah she is my sidekick 💪🐱
Kind of looks like a generic fire stick succulent? Really neat though!
Close, firesticks are Euphorbia. These are Pedilanthus, both Genus have very toxic saps!
