Microscopic pieces of plastic have been discovered in the most remote locations, from the depths of the ocean to Arctic ice. We’re also breathing microplastic, eating it and drinking plastic-infused water every day. Plastic does not biodegrade. Instead, it breaks down into smaller pieces, and ultimately ends up everywhere, including in the food chain. Pieces that are less than five millimeters in length, around the size of a sesame seed, are called “microplastics.”

'Microplastics (including glitter) are everywhere," says Dr. John Yu, a toxicologist in the College of Nursing at the University of New Mexico and lead author of the study...The amount in human testicles is considerably higher than what was discovered in placentas and second to what is observed in the brain, says Yu. Exactly how the microplastics are making their way into the testicles requires further study...they could be "hitchhiking" through the gut via tiny, metabolized fat particles that fan out through the body.'

It is still surprising that a grandson is still alive. For the average person, their ancestors born in the late 1700s are 4-5 times great grandparents. It just happened that Tyler didn't have his children until he was far older than average for parenthood, and his child didn't have children until he was even older, and the 1 grandchild that's still alive is closing in on 100 years old (he's 96)

No, the 10th president was born in 1790. His grandson, Harrison Ruffin Tyler, is still alive, and is 96 years old.

How could John Tyler, a man born in 1790 have a living grandchild in 2024? By marrying women considerably younger. Tyler was in his 60's when he had his son Lyon who was in his 70's when he had the grandson.

'Ingested Microplastic (MP) particles can harm the human body. Estimations of the total mass of ingested MP particles correspond to 50 plastic bags per year (Bai et al., 2022), one credit card per week (Gruber et al., 2022), or a median value of 4.1 μg/week for adults (Mohamed Nor et al., 2021).'

Daft Punk made their biggest impact on the pop charts when they collaborated with Canadian R&B star The Weeknd on two tracks that bookended his 2016 album, Starboy, both of which peaked in the top 5 of the Hot 100. “I Feel It Coming” was a surprisingly smooth track that often indulged in edgy sonics, with Michael Jackson acolyte Abel Tesfaye coming as close as he ever has to an Off The Wall ballad thanks to Daft Punk’s vintage synths.
