Got the 21" ride for about 3 years, got it for 120€ new! One of the best cymbals I ever owned - had Zildjian A's and K's, other MEINLS, Sabian, Istanbul, etc. - and this ride just blows most of the others away. I am also a very hard hitter and these don't break, even though I basically broke 3k worth of cymbals. And the tones you can get out of it, amazing. Great ping, awesome crash, great gentle jazzy stick ride if you go more towards the edge and a great metal ride if you stay in the middle/towards the bell. It's also the only ride cymbal I could crash and immediately start playing ride notes and they are heard immediately as where with other cymbals you'd need to wait for the wash to disappear. If you play anything that's loud and not jazzy I'd get these no questions asked. Another great series is the b20 from Millenium. Those just can't be beat in every single aspect.
Just picked up a near mint 17 mb10 china for 65$ usd on ebay. Great sounding line of cymbals. Doesnt make sense they stop making them. I prefer hhx over everything, but i wont pass on a good sounding cymbal.
@@heavydrumsinc4816 years ago i had an 16 mb10 medium crash and i also had an mb20 18 medium heavy crash. The mb10 sounded better in my opinion, but for half the price. The mb10 line seemed to have the perfect weights. Most of the tones seemed to be balanced really well and fit a variety of styles. I believe its just marketing, the classic custom lines appear more modern and cool to most people. As for sound, the thin lathing is far superior to machine hammering. My china sounds like a mix of A custom and AA.
@@MW3BOT yup, totally agree as to why they've done it. Looks based basically. To my ear the classics custom crashes do not sound as good as the mb10. And yes I'm not fan of mb20 crashes. I really liked the soundcaster custom powerful crashes though. The current meinl catalogue looks incomplete to me. But I'm a new fan. The extreme metal ride I recently got is incredible for the money.

Yes! I only discovered after I got this that the line was discontinued. It seems an insane decision. Very pleasant surprise in the sound quality here.
