It's surprisingly capable in corners, the transmission is just a marvel to use and the engine is peppy ! The front grill plastic and headlight lens were pretty tired, otherwise it felt just like a brand new vehicle. Moreover it's quite unique, having this cheeky quality that the bigger hot hatches have lost.

On dit que le modèle est plus fiable après 2013 en raison d'un bloc moteur différent. mais il y a encore des plaintes. il semble que vous ayez de la chance avec votre voiture. Prenez-en bien soin et il continuera à prendre soin de vous. Le modèle de lifting 1.8 TSI 2015> a été amélioré, entre autres, par un nouveau bloc et est plus fiable.
@@35dd with proper maintenance, the new 1.4 ea211 engine family is pretty reliable, no horror stories like the old engine...annoying issues with sticky or rattling wastegate, some early revisions had issues with a hose and also the failing water pump or noisy oil pump, but nothing really expensive to fix...generally, go for an engine after 2016 and you should be fine, it's more refined and feels marginally punchier 0-100 than new 1.5 evo, albeit slightly thirstier
hope you drive it properly warm before flooring it, these engines are extremely sensitive to wear/breakage so it needs all the help it can get, unless engine oil doesnt cost anything

Them stories are false 😭I have a 2011 polo gti 1.4 drives smooth, never had problems with it. If you drive it like a nob everyday of course your going to get problems but for the price your getting a 1.4 at your and the horsepower on this car your not finding it anywhere else
is the gearbox or the engine fragile at all? im planning on purchasing a polo 6r gti with the same engine and gearbox but ive heard that they are very problematic. does it burn oil or have a lot of misfires or even cracking pistons? and also is the gearbox not reliable?
if you can afford the repair bills, then you will enjoy it. i had one in 2013, it was only a year old, and it had nothing but problems it would misfire constantly. the gearbox was tempremental, it wouldnt even change out of first gear. VW were not that helpful, the knew it was shit, and just kept of changing spark plugs and coil packs.
Bought it at 50.000km. 2 pistons cracked at 62.000km. Before that it was drinking almost 1liter of oil every 600-700km. Got the whole engine rebuilt and now I have injection related issues. It is a cool engine specially because of the twin charge but its fragile as hell...
@@danielfl.9347 injectors were dirty and partly blocked. So there was always sprayed the incorrect amount of fuel in the engine. Pouring some injectorcleaner in the tank solved the issue for me. But should the car anyway due to multiple issues with the gearbox and the being affraid the engine would give up on me some day.
@@eliaze4709 what i mean is, not every GT model pre 2016 had that model, some had a slighte my bulkyer one in the center part. But all after 2016, have it for sure.

1.8 are worse then the 1.4 but 1.4 has chain issues and loves to drink oil

The facelift 1.8 Polo GTI is a lot better than a 1.4 6R model.

No it does it automaticly if you go to low in RPM and forget to shift down. But if you want to stay in high RPM downshifting by your self is better
