Can someone please help me. I want to get this car because i love everything about it, its perfect for me but what i read online they say this car you need to take it to the mechanic every two months because it takes much oil and some other stuff fail and what not. Can someone please confirm if this is true or false? Thanks
Them stories are false 😭I have a 2011 polo gti 1.4 drives smooth, never had problems with it. If you drive it like a nob everyday of course your going to get problems but for the price your getting a 1.4 at your and the horsepower on this car your not finding it anywhere else

hope you drive it properly warm before flooring it, these engines are extremely sensitive to wear/breakage so it needs all the help it can get, unless engine oil doesnt cost anything
@@alexandrgr Well i guess that's the downside of downsizing, you gotta blast small engines with a lot of fuel so they can be fast. But if you drove it economically i bet its not that bad, under 10l/100km. Also fuel consumption is never a problem, problem is when you don't have money for fuel lol
@@danielfl.9347 injectors were dirty and partly blocked. So there was always sprayed the incorrect amount of fuel in the engine. Pouring some injectorcleaner in the tank solved the issue for me. But should the car anyway due to multiple issues with the gearbox and the being affraid the engine would give up on me some day.

is the gearbox or the engine fragile at all? im planning on purchasing a polo 6r gti with the same engine and gearbox but ive heard that they are very problematic. does it burn oil or have a lot of misfires or even cracking pistons? and also is the gearbox not reliable?
if you can afford the repair bills, then you will enjoy it. i had one in 2013, it was only a year old, and it had nothing but problems it would misfire constantly. the gearbox was tempremental, it wouldnt even change out of first gear. VW were not that helpful, the knew it was shit, and just kept of changing spark plugs and coil packs.
Bought it at 50.000km. 2 pistons cracked at 62.000km. Before that it was drinking almost 1liter of oil every 600-700km. Got the whole engine rebuilt and now I have injection related issues. It is a cool engine specially because of the twin charge but its fragile as hell...
@@monkeking8956 mine was 9 years old with 80,000 km on the clock. Had it for a year and a half and had zero problems.Didnt consume any oil, never failed me in any way.. Whats is the fuel consumption on these polos?
when u are on manual mode do u need always shift down?
No it does it automaticly if you go to low in RPM and forget to shift down. But if you want to stay in high RPM downshifting by your self is better
