Also, Demonetisation was a meant to curb black money and it was done with good intent but it kinda failed bcoz the corrupt bank employees fucked up the whole thing. People had so much black money that they were even ready to get half the amount of what they had. They took advantage of that situation and exchanged half or 3/4th of the amount and kept the rest with themselves. This thing ruined the very purpose of demonetisation and common people suffered bcoz of it. You can’t blame the government for it bcoz couldn’t really do anything to stop this mess
It's only after the 90's with the emergence of BJP that India became a true democracy. Before that we were a de facto single party authoritarian system where from Parliament to Panchayat, it was all Congress. And almost all of India's economic gains have come in this 30 odd years period. Alas, if only we had the Pro-Market Swatantra party as a strong political force in opposition to the Socialist Congess right after the Independence, we would have been a much better place.

I think it's the genius of BJP that they didn't have to throw SS and SAD out. Especially SAD (SS scored a self goal by joining INC). BJP always wanted to become independent of these two. Mostly because both are dynastic parties which doesn't come under BJP's agenda. As far as JDU is concerned, they've always had an on-off relationship. I think Nitish Kumar didn't want to indulge in Delhi because he didn't want to lose any ground in Bihar. JDU is not that a large party, and Bihar being a handful state.

It was decorated with national insignia, umbrella and a flag and free to roam around followed at a distance by small batch of troops. Any country that challenged the horse's free passage into their territory had to fight the country's troops. A country that did not restrict the horse automatically became a vassal state. In today's times, an aircraft carrier does the same job and if it's the chi nese they send "fishermen" into your territorial waters.

If you ask the Śrautas or the Pūrva-Mīmāṃsā schools, who only believe in performing Vedic Yajñas and not in any other way of worship, they'll tell you that the animal is indeed sacrificed. Not only a horse, a host of other animals are sacrificed along with it during the Aśvamedha Yajña. If you read the 5th Kanda(Book) of the Taittirīya saṃhitā of Kṛṣṇa Yajur Veda, you'll find all the details of the animals and also which part of the horse is offered to which deity. You have evidence of the animal being sacrificed even in the Critical Edition of the Vālmīkī Rāmāyana. Spilling blood was seen as an inauspicious act so the animal was suffocated outside the alter. Nambuthri Brahmans of Kerala are also Śrautas but they don't believe in this but the Śrautas in Coastal Andhra say that the yajña is incomplete without it. Arya Samaj claims that this is all symbolic and no real animal was killed.

I’m not quite sure if Mr. Shekhar Gupta is politically left leaning or right leaning.. But I’d like to believe that he is more centrist in his mind and maybe that’s what makes listening to him easy on the ears and mind. That is what I personally prefer in the news and journalism I read or watch, having as little of personal opinion by the presenter as possible. With so many years of experience behind him, Mr. Gupta nails this. Factual, to the point, little bit of opinion and no nonsense. I have stopped watching news ever since I’ve come across The Print, only turning on the TV on election result days or on events like Bhoomi pujan of Ram janmabhoomi by Modiji. You have created a gem in form of The Print, Mr. Gupta.
Repeatedly, there seems to be a song about Modi or Modi-Shah politics in theprint. For a channel who wants to support neutral journalism, this particular aspect is a bit of aberration. Usage of more neutral words would have suited it way better. Title could have been "BJP Coalition turning into BJP only government incrementally". In the an age, where quoting an irrelevant sloka is considered matured, the word "Ashwamedha Yagya" feels like giving heroic image or the fan boy moment. I have the following quibbles 1) I could not understand how the whole video is in national interest? It might indirectly affect India's interest. After all the analysis, it could have been apt if it connected this game of politics is good for the nation or not. 2) Video seems to serve political entertainment of the viewers who want to know how one topples the other and gain further mileage in their career 3) What could have been in National interest a) Is Modi-shah politics good for the nation? b) How should the voters think if we want to achieve certain goals c) What could be suggested to BJP to make the nation better

Indian economy mainly depends on unorganized sector which the so called GDP numbers don't take into account. If Small and medium scale industries weren't happy in the last 6 yr, they wouldn't have voted in large numbers in 2019 for the BJP.

In 1998, 22 years ago L.K.Adwani founded national democratic alliance (NDA). Why did he do that ? He did that because he found that BJP by itself could not come into power. In 1996 they set up a government that was defeated in 13 days, so he got other parties together. But today that is not the case and BJP can election by itself, so there is no need of NDA

You are an idiot. As a person from Andhra Pradesh, when our state got bifurcated we were promised by both BJP and INC to get Special Status which include no income tax and other industrial incentives because we were a new state with lots of loans. BJP initially promised that but in the later days did not give Special Status nor did it give the required funds for the so called national projects such as Polavaram Dam (will give water to whole state including electricity, drinking water and irrigation). This is why TDP left the NDA otherwise they were a huge part of BJP’s success early on. Even LK Advani in Tirupati said that Chandrababu was a big reason for BJP’s success and that he would never forget that.

What Guptaji is forgetting is most of the NDA members left on their own like Chandrababu or Uddhav. Even Shatru or Khadse in MH is not thrown out by BJP. NDA members always wanted weak BJP at core not a strong one. If you remember Modi had cautioned publicly to Chandrababu not to leave NDA. He told him, you will repent. Now Chandrababu has become irrelevant by his own choice. Same with Uddhav.

Also, Demonetisation was a meant to curb black money and it was done with good intent but it kinda failed bcoz the corrupt bank employees fucked up the whole thing. People had so much black money that they were even ready to get half the amount of what they had. They took advantage of that situation and exchanged half or 3/4th of the amount and kept the rest with themselves. This thing ruined the very purpose of demonetisation and common people suffered bcoz of it. You can’t blame the government for it bcoz couldn’t really do anything to stop this mess
It's only after the 90's with the emergence of BJP that India became a true democracy. Before that we were a de facto single party authoritarian system where from Parliament to Panchayat, it was all Congress. And almost all of India's economic gains have come in this 30 odd years period. Alas, if only we had the Pro-Market Swatantra party as a strong political force in opposition to the Socialist Congess right after the Independence, we would have been a much better place.

It was decorated with national insignia, umbrella and a flag and free to roam around followed at a distance by small batch of troops. Any country that challenged the horse's free passage into their territory had to fight the country's troops. A country that did not restrict the horse automatically became a vassal state. In today's times, an aircraft carrier does the same job and if it's the chi nese they send "fishermen" into your territorial waters.

If you ask the Śrautas or the Pūrva-Mīmāṃsā schools, who only believe in performing Vedic Yajñas and not in any other way of worship, they'll tell you that the animal is indeed sacrificed. Not only a horse, a host of other animals are sacrificed along with it during the Aśvamedha Yajña. If you read the 5th Kanda(Book) of the Taittirīya saṃhitā of Kṛṣṇa Yajur Veda, you'll find all the details of the animals and also which part of the horse is offered to which deity. You have evidence of the animal being sacrificed even in the Critical Edition of the Vālmīkī Rāmāyana. Spilling blood was seen as an inauspicious act so the animal was suffocated outside the alter. Nambuthri Brahmans of Kerala are also Śrautas but they don't believe in this but the Śrautas in Coastal Andhra say that the yajña is incomplete without it. Arya Samaj claims that this is all symbolic and no real animal was killed.

Repeatedly, there seems to be a song about Modi or Modi-Shah politics in theprint. For a channel who wants to support neutral journalism, this particular aspect is a bit of aberration. Usage of more neutral words would have suited it way better. Title could have been "BJP Coalition turning into BJP only government incrementally". In the an age, where quoting an irrelevant sloka is considered matured, the word "Ashwamedha Yagya" feels like giving heroic image or the fan boy moment. I have the following quibbles
1) I could not understand how the whole video is in national interest? It might indirectly affect India's interest. After all the analysis, it could have been apt if it connected this game of politics is good for the nation or not.
2) Video seems to serve political entertainment of the viewers who want to know how one topples the other and gain further mileage in their career
3) What could have been in National interest
a) Is Modi-shah politics good for the nation?
b) How should the voters think if we want to achieve certain goals
c) What could be suggested to BJP to make the nation better

In 1998, 22 years ago L.K.Adwani founded national democratic alliance (NDA). Why did he do that ? He did that because he found that BJP by itself could not come into power. In 1996 they set up a government that was defeated in 13 days, so he got other parties together. But today that is not the case and BJP can election by itself, so there is no need of NDA

As a person from Andhra Pradesh, when our state got bifurcated we were promised by both BJP and INC to get Special Status which include no income tax and other industrial incentives because we were a new state with lots of loans. BJP initially promised that but in the later days did not give Special Status nor did it give the required funds for the so called national projects such as Polavaram Dam (will give water to whole state including electricity, drinking water and irrigation). This is why TDP left the NDA otherwise they were a huge part of BJP’s success early on. Even LK Advani in Tirupati said that Chandrababu was a big reason for BJP’s success and that he would never forget that.

What Guptaji is forgetting is most of the NDA members left on their own like Chandrababu or Uddhav. Even Shatru or Khadse in MH is not thrown out by BJP.
NDA members always wanted weak BJP at core not a strong one. If you remember Modi had cautioned publicly to Chandrababu not to leave NDA. He told him, you will repent. Now Chandrababu has become irrelevant by his own choice. Same with Uddhav.
