I like the Chef Boyardee spaghetti going down, but then I taste "can" in my mouth the rest of the day. While childhood nostalgia is great, that is a taste I can do without.
Chef Boyardee got a bad rap when I was in school. Everyone I knew made fun of it, and my parents hated it. So I actually never tried it until I was 32 years old, mostly because I found some on sale and it was difficult to cook outside of a microwave (my wife and I were renting a room in a house at the time). And I discovered, while it wasn't my favorite food to eat, it wasn't terrible either. So I ate a can about twice a week for a couple of years, until we were able to move into a better situation. I honestly never noticed much difference in taste among the varieties. And haven't indulged in a while.

@Nel33147 Even canned food will go bad in just a couple of years though. Getting some now might last through the next presidency at most. If you want to prepare for Armageddon, Chef Boyardee is not the best food to stock. There are military rations in emergency barrels you can get that will last 25 years or more.
Yeah, we were too poor (lower middle class) to buy that type of stuff. The only time we would eat canned food was camping. And, it would be beef stew. But, I don't remember my friends parents buying that type of stuff either. Wish I would have known how easy it is to make a basic marinara from canned tomatoes when I was a kid. I would have done that instead and cook regular pasta.
Zoodles are not sold by Walmart in the US except by a third party vendor, by the case of 24, and at a cost of almost $6 per 13.5 oz. can. It is sold by Walmart in Canada.
I've found that Cajun Spice really wakes up the flavor of canned pasta. I like spicy food though. Also, Campbell's Chunky " Chili Mac" is one of my favorites.
I’m a Chef Boyardee spaghetti and meatballs fan but the problem with most if not all of these canned pastas is the astronomical amounts of sodium. It’s not a treat I often have.
😂 Dog food commercial following the video starts with, "No living being should ever eat processed food for every meal...". How appropriate and ironic for a video about canned, processed foods. 🤣
I've spent a few yers trying to duplicate that awesome sauce on Spaghetti-o's. I think it's supposed to be tomato soup with cheese, and considering it's from Campbell's, it's probably their own tomato soup.
Love Skyline Chili. I'm glad I can find it in my store's freezer. I visited Lebanon, Ohio for my boyfriend's h.s. reunion in '15. We ate at the Bob Evans restaurant and I wish it would replace Denny's in Ga.! Frisch's is not bad as it's related to Shoney's here. Forget White Castle-too much like that white trash Krystal here.. I wanted to go to Skyline as we were leaving Ohio. Why? Because my mother accidently created chili spaghetti at a Tybee Beach, Savannah cottage my family and I were staying at for a week in the '70s. She was a bit nearsighted, didn't have her glasses, and poured a can of heated chili on our noodles. Most of us loved it, except my dad. Our Manchester Chihuahua Tiny ate his small portion when he left the table. I even suggested it as a menu item to my college's chow hall-now the UNG dining hall-but I guess the mgr. didn't like the idea then. It is a tad salty though.
Seriously, nobody ever made a claim that these were the healthiest of meals, and the labels are very clear on this too. If you want all your meals to be raw vegan and tasteless yet healthy, that's your call, but let others have their indulgences.

Franco American Spaghettio's used to be one of my favorites but when Campbell's bought the company they changed the flavor of the sauce and now it taste terrible. Thanks for nothing Campbells.
I grew up on Heinz Zoodles and Heinz Alphaghetti. Too bad that Chef BOYARDEE Beefaroni wasn’t mentioned. I grew up on that too and still love it. Liked the Chef BOYARDEE ravioli until they changed it. I thought the beef was a bit spicy and the sauce bland
I can take or leave Chef Boyardee Spaghetti of any variation but I love their beef ravioli and only occasionally find a watery can which just seems to be a thinner sauce than normal. Spaghettios tastes much better in the spaghetti category of canned pastas. I generally keep a few cases of canned pasta on hand for emergency quick meals in case of problems or power outages since it can be eaten without cooking and while best hot is tasty enough cold and is fairly economical.
I love the ole SpaghettiOhs too, but I wish they would reformulate the inside of the cans. It always leaves a metallic aftertaste that ruins the nostalgic experience. (Not enough to push the bowl away, but I still dislike it enough to complain about!)
Why do so many American parents feed their children so much garbage foods, filled with sugar? Bragging about the low fat, while concurrently taxing their pancreas with the sugar is gross.

Your way requires you to open at least 3 packages (pasta, tomato, meat) pull out at least one pot (for pasta boiling), and pan (for meat and sauce cooking), and a lot more cleaning up afterwards. Not to mention likely putting away a bunch of leftovers because most of those packages are meant to serve more than one person. Also, the taste can come out different each time if you do it yourself. Conversely, you open just one can of pasta, dump it into a single dish, toss the can, heat, and eat. Then you are done with only one dish and fork to clean afterwards.
