@jonathanarias5609 I took videos. Ironically I actually did think they were gone until my mom said they come around this time. Yet I'm only one person in one spot.
This bird is so calming to listen to. It can be mistaken for an owl. It reminds me of my morning walk to school or biking around the neighborhood during the summer when I was a kid. Growing up in River Grove Illinois these birds can be heard all day. These memories shouldn’t be sad, rather positive to look back and see how far we’ve come.
I know how it can sound like an owl the first Time I heard it was when I was waiting for the school bus I called back to it it felt like I was one of them we went back and fourth cooing
Mourning dove is so important, you're maybe living a period of depression and stress but when you ear the mourming dove, the indifferent chant of the trees and nature, you will find a great sense of peace
When I was five in a hot summer day playing with chalk and playing hot wheels I hear crickets chirping and the mourning dove makes that noise that I will not ever forget ❤
So, my great grandfather fought in WW1 and nearing the days before he was killed in action from a shrapnel wound, he wrote in his diary that he had seen one of these doves perched on a tree from one of the trenches in the leafless, cold, gray trees of the November weather. I believe it was November of 1916. I still own a lot of stuff from him including his diary, so seeing this made me very happy. Not just the nostalgia of the 2000's but it reminds me of how even the smallest things can make you happy, even in the saddest times of conflict and the modern age.
I remember when I was younger whenever I would hear that bird when I was alone and outside, I would respond back to it. It genuinely felt like we were haveing a conversation
Fuck bro I been watching mourning dove videos because I just completely forgot about the bird and finally figured out what it was and this made me cry bro it brought back many memories
@@Caleb-fv5fpthe sound of waking up back then when you didn’t have to worry so much, when everything was calm and you were just discovering new things that seemed impossible to you, and finding out about all the other delights.

Hi guys, not sure if this is about extinction or the difference between now and 2010 with the mourning dove. I’ve seen a few comments saying “ They aren’t extinct!! “ yes, that is true, mourning doves population continues to increase, the population is about 475 million of these beautiful doves. Their extinction status is at least concern for the IUCN red list right now, although it is legal to poach these birds, their population is massive. these beautiful birds are migrators, and they migrate between august to november. These birds stay on their wintering grounds ‘til about march.
It’s just that due to climate change and urban expansion, they are losing their homes, causing them to move a little up north, farther from the east and midwest areas of the US. Thus, people wanting this bird back because it’s a childhood memory.
It was so great back then, back when the ps3 first came out, and people were still playing Xbox 360, there won’t be days like that again, but hopefully they’re be even better ones…
I live in NY, and for some reason, right when I learned about mourning doves and started loving them over the internet, they were everywhere. Even in NJ when I traveled there, I don't know, either I just started noticing their existence, or it was a gift from nature or a being above.
I used to hear these exact birds in the morning when I was eight. Haven't herd them since, until a day ago. I woke up for school a bit early and I finaly herd it again. It felt good
Back when there were no responsibilities, I could play outside all day, my friends were always around, if I saved my money I could do whatever I wanted with it, and my depression didn't kick in yet. I'm always reminiscing over the good times because now that I am an adult and thirty years old it sucks.
I think it's because as you get older, you start to pay less attention to small things like these. People in general don't go outside as much as they used to.
Its because they are going extinct and plus, We are growing up and almost not giving a damn today because of phones, Wait when you grow older, You wont hear them anymore.

Now we go there every weekend which is a good thing but this was the sound of a nice warm and quiet nostalgic summer morning at my grandmas when I had no worries and no stress. That feeling is felt by everyone at some point. But I feel mine is different and special. I miss 2010-2020😔
