When I got into mountain biking 20 years ago, I learned that beauty comes with sweat, pain, persistence and a positive attitude. I am 49 now and still loving it and I carry a bottle of Advil with me on the ride. 😁. Ryan, you should start selling your no flatties, no crashies and bo whammies trademark merchandise such as sweatband or t-shirt. I’ll buy it to support your channel and spread your channel to my fellow mountain bikers .
When you got emotional at the end, I knew exactly how you felt. Anybody who's ever done a hard tour has had their share of tears and moments of great relief. And its exactly as you said: its an experience of growth and a memory that will never be forgotten.
I have to take a quote from the late Chris McCandless here - "The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun." This gruelling 11 day challenge was a true testament to the spirit of what he was trying to get across. It's an adventure you will cherish and carry with you for a lifetime. Such a truely astounding accomplishment! Hold your head up high, Duzer!
As a fellow long distance bike rider, but on roads. And, a one time rider of RAGBRAI, I want you to think about this. Think about all the food you eat while on RAGBRAI, then think about all the food you didn't eat on this ride. Yeah, food is fuel for the mind and body. So maybe a small set of rear panniers to carry more food would not be a bad thing. Any ways, glad you made it and now you can rest, winter is almost on us.
Congratulations! As a Mom of 3 sons in their 30's, your struggles pulled at my heartstrings at times, but I knew you would power through! I'm 66 & gonna bike forever! You are inspirational.
I'm only two years younger, with two very old bikes. Can't afford to get newer ones so I just keep on pedaling and hope that they don't completely collapse mechanically lol. Keep on biking!
If a 'Dork' is a real person who freely expresses their self while exhibiting no glaring compensatory facades, then yes, you are a Dork Ryan. I have really enjoyed this entire series. Your heart is in it in many ways! Thank you.
Hardest trail 🙏🏼💪🙏🏼 The best footage! The ending was 🔥 and it shows how not only your passion isn't just in the adventure/life.. That passion is also Art.. in the way you present it to us. Thank you 🙏🏼
Thank you so much Ryan. You are doing this for all of us who cannot just take off and go on adventure. We find serenity and hope in watching your videos. Your struggles are our struggles, your pain our pain. We watch your trip from a distance but are with you in spirit, always. Keep on trekking.
I can really appreciate your honesty, the way you show yourself struggling. It would be easy to make this video seem like you pushed through the last part easily, but you show it real. You’re the man, love your videos!
Well done 👏 to you I bet it wasn’t easy, it always feels really hard at the time, but when you finish it off, you look back you always say to yourself that was really good I enjoyed that. I’ve just finished the Scottish version of the Badger Divide, man that was hard going going over old military roads and over Scottish Glens❤️🙏
After watching the full Colorado Trail series, I am now conditioned to feel completely relaxed by just seeing your top tube bag at the bottom of the screen - I am calling it the Duzer reflex.
Never ever ever EVER change Ryan! You are the epitome of joy and positivity in the world. A beacon for us all to follow and search for in times of trouble. So very happy to have stumbled upon your channel a few years ago.
Again, a shining highlight in the YT community, so inspirational and heartwarming, full of passion and love, what its all about. You are showing inside out the best what man can have to make this world a better place for all of us, fauna and flora...what else to say but thank You, and keep on dorking, Duzer
Ryan. I'm so proud of you to have the guts, stamina and mental fortitude to complete this incredible journey. You have inspired all of your viewers and supporters like me to get out there and give it our best effort to make this world a better place. Thank you for sharing your travels in such a professional and entertaining way! Your videos are both fun to watch and very inspiring. Namaste....
Rob!! Thank you so much for your kind words. It means a lot to me that you enjoy my videos. I hope you’re doing well, and hope that it’s not too cold up there…yet
@@duzer Thanks for the reply. I really enjoyed your CT adventure! We're having an awesome October here in MN. I'll send you a link to the ride that Kevin and I did last month at the MN River Bottoms.
Fantastic series!! Really enjoyed the montage at the end. This was a treacherous journey but you conquered it. You are a beast my friend. Inspiring for sure. I gotta tell you, everytime you were hauling ass down the trail, Marybeth was gripping the arms of her chair at the edge of her seat. Then when you were at the bottom, she'd give out a big sigh of relief. :) Nice job. Thanks for taking us along.
Your dedication to filming while riding is awesome! Sometimes when your body is spent and you mind is fatigued it can be tough to set up a shot. I appreciate you and your videos so much, this channel is the reason I got a bike!
Dude, it’s great to get emotional and show it. That is amazing adventure you having...meeting all the people, family, enjoying the nature. Sharing with us your personal adventure and feelings. You are an awesome man. And that you are great full for every part of it and every piece of land you have been on. That is why you finding these people with positive feelings and energy. Thank you, again.
Simply amazing. Just beautiful Ryan. I always feel a bit meloncholy while watching your videos. I don't know that it's a sadness rather a loneliness from being in the places you go and the desolation they provide. I appreciate what you do, who you are, and what you give us all in your videos. When you get choked up so do we....it's real and it's shared amongst your community of followers. Always keep posting and documenting your adventures. THANK YOU!
Been loving your channel Ryan. Your zest for life, adventure, and connection to people is contagious. It’s channels like this that give me hope for humanity! 👏🙏💪
My bad, I got out there before I watched your video😉 64 miles of twisty Scottish roads, 4 hours of pure fun👌 Then I watch your amazing video and realise how easy my ride was, what a brilliant series this was, breathtaking scenery and breathless Ryan 😉👍 You should be really proud of completing such an arduous trip, amazing effort Ryan!👌
The emotional ending before the montage ... just awesome, Ryan. Every video you produce, all the cameras, the different subjects (flowers, animals, sunrise/sunset, weather elements), and just your awesome personality make your videos absolutely beautiful. Plus, you are a dork.
I remember watching the race on the Colorado trail and the one guy was hallucinating that he saw an Amish woman sitting in a tree!! And she spoke to him. Fatigue and low oxygen. You are amazing!!
Extremely motivating and wonderful series. From the “ 5 miles to Kennebec” sign to Kennebec Pass is one of the most beautiful stretches I’ve ever ridden and without doubt from there to Durango is much harder and deceiving than the elevation profile might suggest. The finish brought a tear to my eye, this trail has a way of changing peoples lives. Congratulations
Ryan you are a true and decent man. Love watching your videos over the last few years and this series was really good. Its nice to see the hard days and the emotions running true. I feel your pain in those times, as always thank you for bringing us all along. Maybe more for the people that you inspire!
Ryan, I have watched and re-watched all you video series. You do such an awesome job of story telling, music overlay, interviews, photography, all of it; and your attitude of authenticity, and respect; right down to how you "thank" the earth for where you stay each night! Its deeply spiritual. Your videos truly show the depth of who you are and how you treat the rest of the world (animal, earth, and human). Thank you again for what you do.
What a remarkable journey. It was a true endeavor full of courage and mental fortitude. The physical limitations, were only extended, to tap into your true potential. Often described in your words, of breaking through the , "pain cave." The human connection, only enriched the journey and always warms my heart. Your sense of gratitude and grace, are what is missing in today's world. Being thankful for a patch of grass or a furry friend, only exemplifies the already rich journey. Good luck on your next endeavor.
It's all about the human connection and gratitude. Thanks so much for your kind comment, you put it all into very eloquent words. Sending you a big high five from Boulder!
So awesome riding along with you and sharing this adventure, Beans! So many aspects of your travels are inspirational....your attitude, the sights, the sounds, the food, the people. All of it are reasons to get out there. Breaking oneself the way these trips often do allow us to dig deeper within and I tend to think it makes us better people. Thanks for sharing your adventure and I definitely look forward to the next! Until then, no flatties, no crashies and NO WHAMMY'S!
As I sit here with a torn meniscus, I live vicariously through you until I can get back out there! I am making some big plans for next summer, and most I can attribute to your amazing videos and your amazing vitality! May you be well! Thank you Ryan for inspiring through your actions!
You appear to be a great human being, thanks for taking us with in those amazing journeys to incredible places, and not so easy to go there, stay safe and never stop rolling.
Have really enjoyed your journey along the Colorado Trail from the UK 🇬🇧 My son lives over in Seattle and rode the trail in 2019 and told me it was the hardest thing he’d ever done. Don’t think I appreciated how hard it was until now - what a route!!!! Thanks for filming and sharing your experience.👍
So good Ryan. I'm on team Duzer, and I got to say it's been money well spent. This series has more than once brought a tear to my eye, and has motivated a few rides of my own. Your state is beautiful, and I really appreciate the flowers especially the Columbine.
My wife and I are watching all your videos. We changed your name, we don't say "Van Duzer" anymore, we say "Pan Dulce" 😂 we really enjoyed to watch all your adventures with John and Mira in Oaxaca. We just subscribed to your Patreon. The world would be a much better place with more nice people like you! We love you man! Keep doing what you are doing! My wife, Rose, is from Tecate, MX. I am from the French side of Switzerland.
Been on a couple epic bikepacking adventures, and nothing quite captures the sense of wonderment, exhilaration, and melancholy they contain like your videos do. I appreciate that you take the time and effort to show the world the beauty of what you do. It helped spark my interest, and it keeps me going in the interludes between adventures. Peace, brother.

Hi! I Am from the Philippines and started watching your great divide trail, baja trail and now just finishing you colorado trail videos. I do not follow anything or anyone at RUclips, but your videos and adventures really inspired me and made me wanting to get out there more. 😁😁 Thank you very much for this. GOD bless and protect you with what you do. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thanks. We are all viewing a hardworking man in action and that makes me happy and I hope it is the same with the others who watched this. You are an inspiration.
OMG Ryan every time I watch your videos I feel I should go and buy a thesaurus to accurately describe your awesome adventures! The creator gave you a great day to summit and to realize your greatest potential. You slayed it Ryan!! I am crippled and live a active life vicariously through your heart stopping adventures!! Your mother must just shake her head when she watches lol. You went into that pain cave a small cub and came out a full grown Bear!!! Rest, plan and take us on another one Ryan!!! Loved it!!!!!
You are amazing. Here in Germany are no spots to ride like this and you made it pure fun to see it. Thanks and I hope you will get back on your bike sooner as you thought.
Ryan, I watched a bunch of your videos earlier this year helping me get motivated to get off my butt. So I got back in the saddle, lost some weight and completed the Sante Fe Century yesterday, 106 miles probably 15 of those in cold rain and sleet, 25 mile an hour headwinds, etc. I actually thought of some of your videos, how you keep a positive attitude in the face of such adversity. It's all worth it, because of the training I had to do got me back in shape and I feel I'm a better person for it. $5 in your tip jar.
I have really enjoyed this over your summer! Thank you, Matt Morgan, Frisco, Colorado. Been road biking up Loveland Pass, Fremont, Hoosier, Vail many times, and some Mtn Biking up the front of The Peaks Range, you have been very inspirational to me... Thank you, Matt
I watch all your vids. but i have to say I really appreciate these Colorado trails one the most. Things aren't always easy, but pushing forward and accomplishing your goal is worth it. Very inspiring, thanks for sharing your journey with us.
You deserve to release some emotions, that was an amazing experience and effort. I hope to one day take my bike on such an adventure myself in the future, but for now I will just sit back and enjoy yours.....Thanks for taking all of us along.
Oh, and because of you I've been biking to work two hours per day (which is a good thing). Even went through a severe rain storm the other day, which was actually kinda interesting. I might not be able to do it through winter, but I appreciate the motivation you provide!
Coming back with a second comment. Your montage at the end makes me speechless. I don’t know if I want to go cry for joy or scream out what a beautiful world and the people in it we have.
Congrats on completing the trail. Really enjoyed the beauty of Colorado. Would love to hike the trail one day and after watching your video certainly not bike the trail. Way too much hike a bike. You certainly preserved with all your positivity. Well done.
Been cycling few years now and slowly getting back into shape. Watching your videos have been good at keeping inspired to keep pushing my comfort level for longer rides. This year I have been out riding further on every ride and even did a 22 mile ride out from my house to the back country roads and back home. Along with hitting some local single track trails to build up my skills for my next goal of riding the Mickelson trail in South Dakota and possibly the Cowboy trail too. I have been watching since you road across the US on the three speed bike and hopefully one day will get to ride RAGBRAI. Love the scenery too! Get some rest and keep rolling!
i havent done many hard, big, adventurous rides....but when i have...the end is always very emotional....you are very inspirational....well done....really really well done, that looked tough....rule 5 and then some...
Just broke with my girl, the video made me smile. Thank you Ryan

Thank you for your good vibes, positivity and inspiration.
Wow, That was a tough, rough and amazing ride. Love you bro!

You're the man, Duzer!
One of my favorite things to say is people can do amazing things. Ryan, you are definitely one of those people.
Hilarious opening and fantastic job on the montage. Thanks for taking us along for the ride and encouraging us to get out there.
Glad you enjoyed it, watching that montage makes me happy!
You are amazing. Here in Germany are no spots to ride like this and you made it pure fun to see it. Thanks and I hope you will get back on your bike sooner as you thought.
I don't usually say this to other guys but you inspire me and I have love in my heart for you brother, please keep making these videos 👍🚴♥️
You had a very hard trip but.....you did it ....you did it..... you did it....Yeah!!!!

I think I'll do something easier next time :)
Another excellent series! thank you Ryan for being such an inspiration!
I appreciate that!
Congratulations! Your unrelenting positivity is inspiring...found myself channeling you while in the pain cave this past Saturday! Happy trails 🤩
It really looks so serine and beautiful. Pushing your loaded bike up there is totally worth it!
Right on!!! I love hearing stories like this, way to persevere my man!! Congrats on the big ride, and thanks for the support. Happy trails
Right on Matt!! Happy trails

I hope that you get out there someday my friend!
Oh, and because of you I've been biking to work two hours per day (which is a good thing). Even went through a severe rain storm the other day, which was actually kinda interesting. I might not be able to do it through winter, but I appreciate the motivation you provide!
Congrats and thank you Ryan for this adventure. Highly motivating.
Thanks!
Wow! Congratulations! This was a tough one but you did it. You did it. Thanks for showing us what can be done and done right. Good one Ryan.
Congratulations Ryan, great effort and life experience. You and your bike copped a battering and survived!
Speechless - What A Raw Series - Go Team Duzer
Cheers
Coming back with a second comment. Your montage at the end makes me speechless. I don’t know if I want to go cry for joy or scream out what a beautiful world and the people in it we have.
Congrats on completing the trail. Really enjoyed the beauty of Colorado. Would love to hike the trail one day and after watching your video certainly not bike the trail. Way too much hike a bike. You certainly preserved with all your positivity. Well done.
Thanks, Tim!
Thank you Ryan for all the great video's, lots of love and greets from the Netherlands.
Thank you for sharing this trail with us! You are the man!!!!!
i havent done many hard, big, adventurous rides....but when i have...the end is always very emotional....you are very inspirational....well done....really really well done, that looked tough....rule 5 and then some...

You are amazing and I'm so grateful to have found your videos. Thank you.
