I got to see The Moody Blues on the 78 tour. My eyes were fixed on The Moody Blues, Graeme Edge, Ray Thomas, John Lodge and Justin Hayward. The #1 person I was watching was Ray Thomas. If you would've asked me about Patrick Moraz, I would have said, "Who?".
That's too bad. Patrick Moraz was member of YES for one of their best albums (Relayer) and tours. He also has many great solo albums. The Moody Blues were very luck to have had him. I've met Patrick a few times and he was very friendly and entertaining.
None of that matters. He was contracted on a year by year basis. None of the other members were part of the group according to that kind of arrangement. He was hired help.
@dw8840 that's pretty much what it comes down to. In this legal case, Moraz says he was told when he joined them that he was a full blown member and could not be sacked, but he had no proof of this and none of the other members backed this up.
A friend of mine played in the Detroit Symphony when the Moody Blues started doing their live performances of "Days of Future Passed". A smaller orchestra was drawn from the symphony, one of whom was a bassoon player, to back the band in their performance. The bassonist asked the band for their autographs as a keepsake from the event. They politely, but firmly, told him to piss off. When he related this story to my friend, she laughed and said "Hon, welcome to the 'Big Leagues'." It was readily apparent that the Moody Blues strictly controlled access to every aspect of the business they were in and made money from. Formidable men, to say the least.
He's got the Edge here. it was very difficult to go to a moody blues concert for me while Patrick Moraz was in the band. Each and every move he screamed arseshole.
I really like Graeme he kept this interesting. He has a sense of humor had the judge laughing a few times. I wouldn't want to ever get on the wrong side of Graeme though he doesn't take nonsense
What a horrible example of the legal profession, this so-called lawyer cross-examining Graeme Edge. Sleazy. Crude. Not even paying attention in that Graeme wasn't laughing or smiling. The crowd was. What a dolt. Moraz ended up with 60K after the ambulance chaser got done with his cut. Good.
Moraz was only ever going to be a session musician; end of argument. This poor lawyer is struggling to persuade the jury that despite no evidence what so ever Moraz was a full member of the band
Utterly ridiculous questions from this lawyer that have no relevance to Moraz’s claim. I’m not surprised he only got 70k instead of 3 million. Edge later called Moraz a “sideman” which I thought was kinda insulting considering he was the guy that brought him in as a full member. And he treated this court case as a joke by the sound of it, also insulting to Moraz.

Love you Graeme, RIP
And Ray Thomas, Denny Lane and Mike Pender.
@@debbie4503 I think you mean Denny Laine and Mike Pinder. But don't let a little thing like spelling their names correctly get in the way.

Same as I just did.
The four Moody Blues are outstanding in their field.

It says on Wiki, Moraz was brought in as a member, he had his pics on the album covers and publicity photos.
Wiki can be written by anyone,

Pics on albums and publicity photos can show non members of the band if the record company feels it will help with album sales.

Most “ Big” names stopped giving autographs because it leaves them open to counterfeit type fraud.
Wow didn't see that coming. They always seemed polite
Lol he pissed off Neville Johnson at 1:47 😂😂😂😂😂
He's got the Edge here.

The lawyer was insulting and like the justice system...a joke
Moraz' lawyer was downright hostile to Mr. Edge.

Graeme didn't like lawyers! Cool guy, but I wouldn't want to get him mad!
Moraz was only ever going to be a session musician; end of argument.

Graeme was the ONLY person who came out well in this.
Shame sound is so crummy
The drummer running rings around this brusque and unlikable lawyer

The band are what’s important here. If you’re not fully legally a member then you’re just a session musician.
Graeme Edge looked absolutely nothing like he did pre 1970. Not even a slightly noticeable resemblance.
I am sure you don't look the same either after 20 or more years. I guess you haven't seen him in awhile.
@@patriciaelg1464NOBODY DOES AFTER YEAR'S OF HEAVY ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION....
Graeme Edge reminds me of a salty old sailor... taunting the prosecutor...not a very approachable guy. 😩😩💩💩
Graeme was GREAT !
I thought he was confident and honest. A couple of times, he made the judge laugh. He made this whole thing more interesting.
Doesn't suffer fools or insulting snide lawyers
