- Down at one of my favourite places this time - on St Brides Bay , Pembrokeshire , Wales, UK. This area has some really interesting wild life apart from some of the most biodiverse rock pools in the world ( it is the meeting point of the cold water species of the North and the warm water species of the South. We even have a bright blue sea weed -Rainbow Wrack that is very evident here in Spring. Offshore we have 3 species of dolphins, basking sharks , ocean sunfish , blue fin tuna are making a comeback along with other species, of cetecean, seals and my favourite , the Leatherback Turtle , and is the largest turtle ever found ,the world record of which was found around 70 miles away at Harlech ( it died by being trapped in fishing lines and was over 100 years of age and its body has been preserved for display in the National Museum of Wales in Cardiff ) well worth a visit , it is 3 meters (9 feet) in length and weighs 914 Kilos (2016 ponds), enjoy, This was expertly filmed and edited by Jon Borg of Digital Tiger.

"Well done limpets." -Craig Evans
Well they have been evolving for many millions of years lol, regards Craig
I’m allergic to shellfish, but I love the way you educate us as you forge. You also show respect by only taking what you need and leaving the rest.
Respect for the environment is paramount Mincy poo, regards Craig
National Geographic should produce a show with you, it would be absolutely awesome.
Now there's a thought Colleen, kind regards Craig
Yes! Definitely would be a hit! Its food but more important its knowledge being shared!
I kinda disagree, with being in youtube he has a lot more control with how the show goes, and with other things that goes in it.
Craig, your videos never disappoint! Not just your knowledge, but the love and pride for your country and it's natural resources shines through.
Is it that obvious Jon, kind regards Craig
Yep. The Welsh Tourist Board should have you on speed dial!
Underrated channel. Needs more views.
I tend to agree ,lol, regards Craig

Another spectacular video again Craig. As always. Everytime I watch these, I'm starving. It's not pay day until tomorrow, so I'm indulging in some mushy peas on toast. Wish I was having what you're having. Looking forward to the next one Craig. 👍👍👍

Your vast knowledge of sea-life is remarkable to say the least.
Nice of you to say so James, regards Craig
Great video thank you. I watched it with my 6 yr old daughter who loves rock pooling in Angelsey, especially when it leads to eating the muscles and crabs!
I love how you share your knowledge of the wildlife, how you always return the ones you won’t eat back to their homes, and especially enjoy watching you pluck seaweeds from rocks and eating them with a description of how they taste!
Thank you for a great comment Haruko, regards Craig
Another educational day Craig.. thank you for sharing.... Bless you.
You are very welcome Lala, regards Craig

It's my pleasure to do this Big Z ,regards Craig
The production value is fabulous! Well done to all involved and thanks for the beautiful and informative video again, Craig!
Hey Craig,
I hope all is well. I was wondering how you do all your research on species in your area? What’s the best way you’ve found to identify a new species you’ve discovered with certainty? Using the internet can be hard to get an exact match. I love your videos. You’re very entertaining and clearly very knowledgeable!
Thanks for everything.
Hi Owen , I''ve spent many happy years exploring every nook and cranny of the coast of West Wales from Pembrey in Carmarthenshire to St Davids in Pembrokeshire and all points in between . I don't think that there is book on the subject I havn't read. I used to keep a large salt water aquarium to study the fish and invertibrates that live on our coast. My tip on identification is to obtain at least 3 books and compare the photographs. There is also Marlin , an online guide to the creature on our coast. I hope this helps, regards Craig
@@coastalforagingwithcraigev8447 Thank you for your expertise!

Glad you like them and they make you happy Jam A, regards Craig
I especially love this channel since I traced my family to Wales before they went to the US.
Now knowing this, and it’s maybe 4-5 generations back that came over - even if that’s quite some time ago I’m still happy because I knew nothing and figured it out and want to know where my folks came from.
Hi Ray, croeso i'r sianel (welcome to the channel) my videos are filmed all around the coast West Wales, mainly the counties of Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, regards/ hwyl , Craig
Ray Llosgi, did you know that the word " llosgi" is Welsh for "burn" and also " burnt"
Terence Wyn Roberts I do now, back when I made my user name I was looking for “bear” and I think the internet broke on me because it’s arth I think? But I’m not mad because I still like it and it works for me lol but as time goes on the more I learn.
Coastal Foraging With Craig Evans awesome! I’m gonna be diving back into my family tree and trying to figure out more of where they lived- I suspect they did some type of work that had them moving around a bit, I’m not sure, like they were following the jobs around. It’s hard though, there’s a lot of John Jones’s and I’ve no other family to get information from.
@@rayindahay yes Welsh for bear is "arth" the "a" is pronounced the same as the "a" in apple ,the "r" as in run and the "th" as the "th" in thunder.👍
Great video as always Craig! The prawns are still around here in South Wales and I've had a good few cook-ups. I've also been successfully tracking otters the past few weeks with wildlife cameras, regards Oscar.
I absolutely love your channel! I think it's so relaxing watching you guys catch stuff and hangout by the ocean. It's nice learning new stuff too! I love learning about ocean species!

I've been shrimping since I can remember self taught. And me and my eldest daughter used to take our catch home and cook them with pasta... I was wondering could you come to aberavon beach. Show me things I may be missing
There is not much to forage on Aberavon beach, if you visit my website www.coastalforaging.co.uk , there are details of my courses there, regards Craig
Hey Craig, just wondering if you'll ever consider making a youtube series guide for foraging? For example, One series could be about showcasing the poisonous vegetation, fruits etc. How to differentiate between them etc. Another series could be about foraging in general. Either way I pretty much like your videos, they are very great! Keep up the work :)
Many thanks M Lue, this is on my list, regards Craig
