I own a 2014 FX Cruiser SVHO it is absolutely a beast. Only thing I would love to have is the RIDE system but it is amazing the SVHO motor is incredible
I have this exact machine, I use it hard, acceleration is so strong, corners even harder, the only time its not at full throttle is during warm up. If you enjoy G forces in all directions this is the unit. Ive had mine out 13 times since getting it in May, 7 different lakes, never found any pwc faster although I know they exist and I never found another GP1800R SVHO
@@marshallbususu its not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. If your keeping it at full throttle all the time you can put through a fair amount of fuel, that usually takes smooth water and a lot of aggression, if the water is a bit rough and your only using full power half the time you can go all day or more on a tank full
@@marshallbususu two full seasons on mine now, the rush driving this thing doesn’t get old, just as much fun on the last day of the season as it is on the first, still haven’t seen another one, I see the odd fx but no GPs. I’ve managed to get thrown off once on a super hard corner. If your the only rider you’ll have to be in good shape if you plan aggressive riding, you will get sore arms. I switch off with other family members, you need the break.
Thanks for making this. Have you ridden the FX SVHO? I’m stuck between which to buy. I love speed, but this will be my first time on a SC ski. I guess I’m concerned the GP won’t be fun unless the water is flat - whereas the big FX can glide through nearly anything. Can you speak on the GP’s level of “fun” in normal lake conditions?
No mate gp is a race ski hull designed and best for flat. Kawasaki makes better hulls and you fucking cruise through chop easy. I smoke my mates gp1800 svho in the ocean! I've got 310r
I’m in the same position. Considering the FX SVHO vs GP1800R SVHO. I would mostly be riding it on the Columbia River (large river) and lakes. I THINK the FX would be the better pwc for me because I want to power cruise, but maybe I’d enjoy the ripping of the GP more???
Just got a 2023 GP HO (no supercharged available for the season). I’m also a viper guy (had a gen 1 since 2014 and just traded it for a 01 GTS. Looking forward to a nice spring/summer season. You still have the GP?
Excellent video! You should teach how to post a video on RUclips Perfect time length and very informative. A lot of other videos just ramble on and on about nothing important. Thank You
Wow! Small world 🌎, have your exact year make and model GP1800R even in blue. Was told it was one of 3 that were allocated for sale in entire state of Ohio. Next crazy thing took our Waverunner to Cumberland this year also..my 1st time back in 31yrs.. had a blast, but no one to race. Not busy on weekdays. Busted impeller circling by shore waiting for trailer to get backed in. Didn't realize damage until next trip out on Buckeye Lake.😢
I’ve ridden jet skis plenty of times. I don’t own one yet but I’m looking to get a gp1800r or the sea do equivalent. I don’t know if I need the svho but I love speed. Any thoughts considering the price of gas right now
Nice numbers. The 2014 VXR we have did 1/8th mile in 10.01 @ 61.8 MPH. Did 330' in 5.4 seconds as well. But top end certainly isn't there in comparison
Not sure what “smoother and better haul” means. However, when it comes to Japanese quality and reliability it’s unmatched in almost all aspects of motoring. That’s why I would pick this ski over a Sea-Doo

`give me your opinion. i have rode 3 other people on mine (not at one time) my dad my buddy and my ex girl friend and even with a girl on the back this ski is a 2 person max this ski is performance driven its not the best cruiser that light weight nano 2 hull is like sport cup tires you feel everything
To follow up on your example, I’d rather have 2 in my Porsche GT3RS with sport cup tires than a minivan. I’ve never had issues with 3 people on my machine, however I would gladly float around while 2 others got to rip the SVHO instead of 3 simultaneously on a cruiser. Just my .02
Appreciate the review. Be careful about throwing people off, or they try to cling ingot the back, the jet pump can destroy internal organs via… orifices…
I own a 21 gp I agreed then I don't agreed don't get me wrong it's a nice ski fun to ride.but to me the build quality is poor to me on the 21s seem to me that they rushed it talking about panels in the paint on hull is super thin in chip so easy my ski is in shop right now as I type for a warranty part failed
That’s a shame to hear that. Our machine seemed to be in top notch form, not paint defects or anything. Maybe yours was one of the first off the assembly line?
@@Real_vtec I have the gen 2 intake no ride plate debating on if I want to get it or not I don't think I need it due to I don't race but I do ride in ruff water is I'm back in forth with the plate
I have 2019 with stage 1plus and gen 2 ride plate and intake grate with pump seal 79/80 mph absolutely love it
Man that sounds like a monster. This off-season we will definitely be doing some mods

I 100% agree, best all around ski on the market. I did see only one other GP1800R on the water this year. It really does look sharp.

I have a 22 blue/yellow. I almost traded it in the following week. This thing is insane. Finally got used to it. You better hold on man!
I love my 21 gpr have about 2 grand worth of go fast parts on her . All day 82 mph very quickly from 10-82
That’s awesome. It’s a tremendous platform to mod

Great video, have a High Output unit. Just curious what do you use for your camera angle in this vid? A chest harness?
Good review, one of the bests out there

69 mph is the max speed?

Yamaha doesn't make a JetSki, only Kawasaki does as it's their trademark. Yamaha does make a Waverunner however, and a nice one at that. 👍
