I like the idea but is this another white guy saves the ghetto movie because they are part of the problem of white supremacy Edit by they I mean these movies
Jungle Ninja have you seen the movie? There is no redemption, no one is saved, both leads never resolve their issues.. that’s sorta the point. In fact, the whole idea of a white inner city crack addict sorta flips a stereotype on its head (not to say its not a backwards stereotype either - LOTS of down and out white druggies). In fact, the girl’s mother might be the most disciplined, well-intentioned character (albeit a minor one) in the whole film. It’s a film about being pulled in different directions and never really finding out which is stronger (kinda like the subject Gosling teaches about in every classroom scene).
Nah, It's anything but that. It's about a teacher (Gosling) who cares deeply about his students (majority black), but is also a man who struggles with drug addictions and other issues. The Anthony Mackie character tries to recruit the student that Gosling's character cares for the most ('Dre) as a drug peddler. It's more of a commentary on the struggles of everyone in a suburban environment and their psyche. It's a slice of life film. People who just care about other human beings and trying to do what is right, despite their own faults. Gosling cares about 'Dre and doesn't want her to wind down a drug fueled path like him, in whatever capacity.
Fantastic scene. Those two actors have major chemistry. I’ve known men exactly like these characters.
So awesome. Thanks for posting.
the almost-crazy look in his eyes at 1:36 sold me on his character - great acting on both of them, I believe it right away
Damn, when he says, “No, I know [,]” he is perfect!
I love this scene. They are both just perfectly on point!
Once upon a time Ryan Gosling could really act.
“What the fuck is this, the fucking Romper Room?”
Brilliant use of dialectic.
I come to this point that what's white is right is true
2020-2023 Explained perfectly in this clip.. It's all about racism lol 😹
but he WAS right...
Who told the cameraman to use tele lens without stabilization? Got headaches to watch a clip.
Sourav Dey Really. You’re so missing the message...

White supremacy LOL
I hate those movies too. This is not one of them. Not even close.
You haven’t seen the movie. It’s exactly what you think it isn’t.
