    55-60 mph is plenty fast enough for what I want these things for. If I wanted high top speeds, I'd just buy an ATV built specifically for that.

    When the road conditions improve, you should re-run this test. The 500 test was done when the road was very hard packed and it definitely hooked up and rolled easier. Or repeat the 500 test in the same conditions that you tested the 600 if it's meant as a comparison. Realistically though, they are quite comparable power and performance wise, the 600 just seems all around more refined.

    • @RealTalkPowersports
      @RealTalkPowersports  3 года назад +5

      Thanks man.. you should be fine in high for normal cruising around on the trails.. but below is what I normally tell people:
      The rule of thumb for any CVT driven ATV or SxS which is pretty much everything besides a Honda.. you need to be in low gear if your average speed is below 15 mph or anytime you are putting the machine under a load or in a bind, like going through a thick mud hole, boggy soft sand section, up a steep hill, rock crawling, crossing a ditch pulling something....
      Its all because of the way a CVT Belt driven machine operates.. it keeps from slipping the belt or breaking it. ... that goes for cfmoto, canam, polaris, kawasaki, Yamaha, and other CVT driven machines.

    That's a decent low gear top speed. I should do a drag race of my 450xc to see the difference in power, but that should be close, I put light roller on it cause I have 25" tire instead of stock 23" so I can't go faster than 85km/h (53 mph) because I hit rev limiter, but it has a pretty solid acceleration for a 443.

    Did you ever preload the secondary clutch? I’m assuming not because the belt sounds like it’s slipping. Take some primary weight out and it’ll be a lot faster too. Grab some 20g weights for it, that’ll help a ton. Stock spring is ok. 18g weights for 28”+ tires. Also for those curious CFMOTO has no electronic speed limiter in the US. It’s not required here. Typically 68mph is where most of the units gear-out and hit the rev limiter (26” tires with corrected speedo)

      the one thing keeping me from CFMOTO is the high revving motor and the low HP. I know these quads have came a long way but 600cc and 45 HP, or 500cc and 38hp. The Polaris and others have more HP which I like. I like the price of the CFMOTO but I want to find a way to "speed" up the motor and lower the RPMs.

    Should be doing the top speed runs in 2wd. Should never go that fast in 4wd. I’ve got an older Suzuki king quad 750; it tops out at 65 mph on stock tires. Grizzly 700 is basically equal. We have a cf moto dealer about 30 miles from us here in southern Illinois. It’s also a can am and Polaris dealer too. I’m still not 100% sold on long term reliability of the cf moto machines but quality does seem to be improving. Fit and finish looks good. Biggest issue with cf moto is when used they lose a lot more value than all others. Trading in or selling used, you end up practically giving them away.

    • @RealTalkPowersports
      @RealTalkPowersports  4 года назад

      I ran the top speed in 2wd.. but anytime you do dirt drag racing on a 4wd atv or sxs, you want ultimate traction to get off the line better and stay stable down the stretch. And I really had to on that gravel. That's why I did it for the 0-40mph test.

    • @RealTalkPowersports
      @RealTalkPowersports  4 года назад

      I agree on the value as well.. it does bottom out quicker than other manufacturers from what I've seen.
      The quality has definitely been improving. And time will tell how the durability is now for these newer models.

    • @gregrowe1168
      @gregrowe1168 4 года назад +1

      They really haven't been making atvs for long, maybe 10 years or so. No real long term reputation to speak of. Acceleration is more indicative of power than top speed anyway. I had a Grizzly 660 before and it would go 0-40 pretty quickly but on the top end it took forever to get to the 62-63 mph top speed. Once you got past 50, the numbers on the speedo took forever to change. It literally took longer to go from 50 to top speed than it took to go from 0-50. Single cylinder machines are like that. Strong bottom end but fall on their face on top end. The King Quad 750 isn't bad on top end though but I seldom push it too hard on top end. I hear all the time people buy the bigger 1000cc machines but never go fast on them. They want the power but never use it. But they paid a lot extra to get it. A lot the time they upgrade just because their buddies did, the old keeping up with the Jones adage. The machines in this class seem to make the most sense(500-700cc). Plenty of power for most to be fun to ride and haul and tow but not so expensive that only a few can afford them like the more powerful 800-1000cc machines. They can also handle slight increases in tire size and/or more aggressive tires without a noticeable loss in performance. Also usually no trouble handling a bit extra load on the battery like auxiliary lighting if you ride a lot at night.

      @@jeremeywright you would have to run skinnys all the way around if you do not want to have to trim or run wheel spacers on a 600..
      I recommend on a 600 to run 9 inch up front and 10 or 11 inch wide in the rear

    It is seen that they are very heavy and slow atv ... and in terms of weight they are above their competitors and in horsepower below their competitors ... what do we get? a slow and heavy mediocre atv well below its Japanese and American competitors
