Missed this video when it came out. Very good video showing the issues with planting. The technology has moved on since the 70’s. That piece of paper would have not been picked up then and the whole row would be missing. Super video.
I'm one of those who drops whatever they're doing to watch your videos as soon as they come up in my notifications. I agree with the usefulness of vice grips to fix broken stuff. Many years ago the distributor hold down bolt in my car broke late on a Friday night when I was up in the mountains going to a ski area for the weekend. This was before mobile phones and I didn't fancy walking 5 miles or so through ice and snow to the nearest ski lodge. I had vice grips in my toolkit and thought that they'd hold the distributor in place. Good thing that I also had a timing light. I was on my way in 10 minutes. I didn't get around to replacing the bolt for a few weeks, but the brilliant vice grips didn't falter.
This was a great video! Love watching you two work together…obvious love, ❤️ lots of laughter, precious time together.🤗 I have to say, my heart jumps several beats when I see my darling Granddaughter crawling around that monster machine with the “I can kill you in so many ways” implement on back….I know you are alone, and at the mercy of trusting your tractor to stay still while you weave through those blades! Yikes! It’s too much for me! I’m just so relieved every time your mission is accomplished. I love ❤️ you! Grammy
That 8335 R with oversize tires, side tanks, and planter attached is an amazing and complex piece of equipment and it speaks well of you that you keep it well maintained and running.
Thank you. As a new subscriber I went back far enough to see your honeymoon, but not far enough to see your wedding. Miracle of miracle a video popped up for me showing your wedding. A video by Jessie Young I think. Very beautiful wedding and a very beautiful bride. ❤🙏
Love that video it's like I'm out there with you. You guys work so well together. Such a great couple. You need to eat you get up early no breakfast no lunch not healthy. You look beautiful without makeup. ❤
Nothing easy about farm work and the inside of the tractor like the cockpit of a jet. Feeding America one big field at a time, thanks for posting, oh and killer eyes on Laura helps..
God Bless you 2 , you are the shinning example of what every American should strive to be. your work ethic, your companionship, your caring for your neighbor, your family, and most of all your sharing of your life's work with so many folks around the world you truly are the definition of AMERICA the BEAUTIFUL. :}
You guys have so much equiptment to work properly in order to plant your fields and you and Greg work with a smile on is amazing, thanks for sharing and stay safe 👍
Laura and Grant, your videos are the absolute tops in the RUclips farm world. The definition of your IPhones is just superb and your camera shots are awesome. Best in the business. Oh, and Happy upcoming Birthday Laura. Be sure and check your Po Box. Stay safe and keep on planting.
Hello from South Point Ohio. Where is South Point you ask? Let just say I'm 5 minutes from West Virginia, 5 minutes from Kentucky. 100 yards from the Ohio River. Great videos. You and Grant's work ethic is what my parents taught me also . It's a very rewarding way to live out our lives.
Laura, you always look stunning to us with or without makeup because you have the natural beauty that we see every day you post videos so relax your good
Laura and Grant, I love watching you two work together, and the banter between the two of you. Laura, you look beautiful enough without doing your eyes while driving the tractor. I worry if you hit a bump in the field and damage one of your eyes. Love from Mike. ❤
Looking at the amount of seed you lost when you had to clear that paper jam, you should carry a small tarp to put under a head if you need to open it in the field. Then, would be easy to put that seed back into the main tank. And, yes, pulling a tread to open a bag is very satisfying.
Don't worry about looking presentable, you're absolutely drop dead beautiful with or without make up. I am sure Grant will agree with me. Love you both and your videos.
Ill CALL your piece of paper and Raise- 1 of my wife's earrings was found inside the row unit! ;) Have a great day and thanks for feeding America! Farmers are under paid and over worked! Jeff from MN
Laura, you have one of the best family-oriented channels on RUclips. However, I'll just give you some examples of what something that tiny can do. something that tiny can stop a multimillion-dollar aircraft in the United States Air Force it's called F.O. . for foreign object if you lost something like a screw you have to stop everything until you find it if it results in damage or causes the crash of the Jet it's called F.O.D for foreign object damage in short something that small especially if it gets in something vital can be expensive in repair costs or completely destroy the equipment as well as cost a lot of Money and waisted time repairing or replacing whatever was damaged, be it farm equipment or any other piece of equipment . It makes me proud that you realized you had a problem before it got too big, and you were able troubleshoot and repair the problem yourself and get back to planting. This kind of self-reliance is what more of what American people need to develop for themselves so excellent job on fixing the planter. I'm sorry that's just the old Avionics Technician in me. once again great job.
Hope you got some rain last night, but not too much! I was up in Broken Bow before driving through your area on the way back to Kansas. Had quite a storm there. Thanks for the great vids, I really enjoy them!
Laura, go back and check the video beginning at 14:14 and you will have the answer to your question about how the little strip of paper that came from the seed bag got into the seed travel system and plugged it up. It appears that the best way to keep that from happening is to fully open the bags. Of course you could just try to hang onto that tiny strip of paper when you partially open the bag, which is the safest way to not spill a bag while handing off a seed bag. But that is a tiny piece of paper to keep track of.
The SPECIALNESS(word alert)of you two growing, farming, having a family etc. Together....is simply immeasurable. It gives not only me but many of your viewers hope. In 40 years, thinking of you viewing these videos with your children and grandchildren makes a grown man tear up with soft smile. God bless🤙😎🤙
What a beautiful site with the white clouds rolling by as you 2 work as a team filling the tractor up for planting. You 2 know the importance in what y'all are doing when most of our country has forgotten what it takes to earn a living and continue what our ancestors did before us..Enjoy watching your videos of everyday life on the farm..
You are beautiful with or without make-up. Looks catch the eye but personality captures the heart. I am one of the millions whose heart has been captured.
Amazing how accurate and seamlessly the rows line up from one pass across the field to the next. Thanks for showing things I have wondered about for years.
What always gets me while I'm watching these videos is: 1) How much technology is involved in modern farming 2) How much both you and Grant have to know about every single piece of advanced mechanics at your job, on various machines, that change regularly; and how much you have to grasp enough about them in order to diagnose the issue 3) How wrong people are when they regard farmers as not being intelligent people. And no, I don't think this. But I've lived in a city most of my life, and there are far too many people in the city who think of themselves as being more intelligent than folks on a farm, but who can't get their coffee maker to work when it breaks down Love learning about what you do. As always, I'm impressed by your stamina, physical fitness, and analytical mind.
Great video! Amazing to see the planter putting in just two rows. Those bags open the same way they always have. You guys always look great. Love to see you guys working together and appreciate how you treat each other.
Laura, you have a natural beauty that is flawless as is. Being a dad of two daughters I know how important it is for them to do make-up, it makes them feel better about themselves and that is what is important to them. Grant is a very lucky man and I feel Laura does it for him as much as she does it for us. As always, your videos are awesome and the shots of the equipment in action are great. Have a beautiful day and God Bless you.
It has been said many times, but you are such a cute couple xoxo. Love the way you two interact, it’s one of the reasons your channel is so popular. And trust in one other thing Laura, you are very presentable even without makeup.
I can only echo many of the comments. The way the two of you work together and share with us your daily life is incredible. I'm not a farmer although I married a farmers daughter. So I have an appreciation for you folks. What my wife's father instilled in her gave us the stability for our marriage along with having Jesus the center of it all. Thank you for these videos.
Thank you Laura and Grant, true American heroes! Thank you for the food in my belly and the fuel in my tanks. Thank you for the wonderful videos and the look into the American way. Thank you both for everything!
3:00 what a serene, calming clip watching the tractor march across the field doing it's thing with some guitar resonating along in the background. feels like a moment to remember
Some folks are starting to make fuel pellets from corn stalks, you ought to see if anyone in your area is doing this, a pellet stove with automatic feed would be great, definitely look at a HVLS fan( high volume low speed) to move warm are down in winter and do some cooling in the summer. I have installed many of these in big warehouses and they are great

In another industry have cut maybe 100,000 sacks & found the best way to open them is to cut down the middle of the bag & open them like an egg in to the hopper. Paper in the Seed Hopper. LOL, that was a "no-no" 50 years ago, using a JD Max-Emerge six row. My Dad and Uncle preached about taking care of the bag tops before dumping the seed. Kudos to Laura and Grant for being quick learners, and yeah... We didn't have technology telling us when we stopped planting a row, or having the chance to get it planted. You have got to be INCREDIBLY proud.

Lol, putting on make-up going across the field! A true farm princess! I love watching you two working together😊.
" I think it was too much... " That look Laura gives Grant was PRICELESS!!!
I once heard someone say this: "I first fell in love with her looks, but not that one!"
word of divorce 😝
13:35 That look that says: Oh my goodness! You're sleeping on the couch tonight, mister funny man.
You are a very good troubleshooter. One little piece of paper. Good find. And you are very presentable.
Every farmers dream.....a nice gentle rain after you finish seeding.

Good luck with the planting, we are busy planting rice here in Louisiana.
It’s nice to see that despite the long hours, hard work, and stresses of farming that you love what you do.
The makeup being done while planting is definitely something new - fun stuff
I’m impressed she never breaks a nail and she’s never afraid to get her hands dirty, she’s a very hands on woman
WOW 😳 beautiful country. What a fantastic life. God bless you always 🙏👌

10 more years of climate legislation and they won't own that land sadly. It's coming.
Without a doubt you Laura are the most beautiful famer there is and doing make-up while planting, outstanding.
I have to say, clearly the eyeliner and lashes are what makes taking buckets form one bin, to another bin, to even it out. Well done!
3:00 this is the kind of content that I could watch HOURS of! Just tractors out working in the fields. I love that stuff!
