The one I used to have must've been pre-owned or something because it didn't have the head strap or the little stand. So, aside from my face buried in the table & the thing plugged into a wall socket, 3:01 is pretty much what I did.
I wonder if they didn't have full color because the lenses would lead to chromatic aberration, and they wanted to make the thing as cheap as possible, so they didn't want to have to invest time and effort into developing a more complex optical system to offset the effects of chromatic aberration. Or they were just insane.
Wow, you really are going through these blazingly fast; I can barely keep up! If at any point you get burned out on AVGN, a recommendation I would have is for James Rolfe's other series'; "Board James" and "You Know What's Bull$#!&" Anyway, keep up the good work; your videos are fun to watch!
Thank you for this information, I noticed the higher quality versions are a little different sometimes, the music or sounds, and some extra content has been added, I wanted to stick to his original work. Without the improvements, it's just not the same, 😁
Never owned the Virtual Boy, but have played an emulator of it and it was still messing with my eyes badly. Like I feel like Nintendo forgot what the term portable meant when coming up with the thing lol
I remember coming across a specific video that highlighted SEGAs 3 biggest mistakes, apparently SEGA was approached after Nintendo backed out of the deal with SONY. SEGA of Japan squashed the chance of a collaboration, however that was voted as number 2, number 1 is rushing the Saturn. it was $100 more expensive than the first Playstation
Aaron Page Not only that. But Sega banked on the next gen being 2D focused, and when they found out everyone was going 3D, they made a last minute revision to the Saturn so it could do 3D. So, not only did they rush it out the door, but they changed the hardware, meaning people developing for the system would have to readjust to the new hardware, while also being rushed by Sega just throwing the console out onto the market with NO warning.
Back in the 90s I believe it was when Blockbuster was such a big thing I happened to walk in there and I seen the Virtual Boy thing sitting on display and I happen to try it out, and I must say I was not very impressed myself
15:14 Well, after this nerd episode, years went, and someones started to care about virtual reality. That's why we have now VR-devices, like Oculus Rift, Playstation VR, etc.
I know this is old in all, but I’m surprised that you actually remember the thing ( considering that you said you were eight years old on the original Xbox came out, correct me if I’m wrong on that ) because in 96 when I just turned seven I used to play it constantly at my local mall.
I have played virtual boy games with the use of an emulator. And I liked some of them like Mario clash, panic bomber, and wario land. I play them in black and white.
ive trained my eyes for a long time, id like to put my eyes on a challenge, this would be fun, but its rare and my parents are broke, theyd kick me out of the house again.

Trivia: Sega originally planned a VR system using the same tech but after hearing about risk of seizures they passed so Nintendo used it instead.
This was my first Angry Video Game Nerd episode I watched as a 13 year old.
Damn, Nostalgia always seems to catch up, doesn't it, 😖
there is a bonus video that include Jack Brothers
thank you, i will make sure to check it out,
@@MynameisCharlie Jack Bros.

Great suggestion, I will make sure to go through those once all the AVGN reviews are done. =)
There's actually a higher quality version of this episode, which is updated, to include Jack Bros.

Waterworld with red water:
Blood World
Waterworld with black water:
Oil World
Wario Land looks like fun. It'd be awesome if they re-released it on 3DS or Switch but with actual color.
Yeah, It can be salvaged, 🤔
Not a bad idea, actually.
You wanted to take that to school, I wouldn't even bring that piece of shit in my house lol.
Lol, 😂

@@SakuraAvalon yeah it's almost like the higher ups wanted their company to fail

15:14 Well, after this nerd episode, years went, and someones started to care about virtual reality. That's why we have now VR-devices, like Oculus Rift, Playstation VR, etc.
And now more affordable VR like the Oculus Quest 2 (I refuse to call it meta quest 2, it’s a garbage name. It’ll always be Oculus to me)

To this day Nintendo still doesn't have a headstrap for their VR system lmao...

Good Ears, Yeah, I fucked up, I was supposed to say episode 42. 😉

You actually PLAYED this piece o' shit when you was younger? I envy you.
I don't feel blessed, It was severe physical and mental suffering... 😂
