Been driving past that airport for the past 15 years for my job! -Very cool to see you out in my neck of the woods! I fly MSFS in VR with the 206 at that airport.... So cool to see the real thing!
@ That is correct, Williamsport. It’s pretty neat to see the real thing from a 206, after spending hundreds of hours in the same machine in a simulator. Love your channel, keep putting up this stuff!
Interesting this popped up in my recommendations, i did pretty much exactly this a few years back as the camera operator. in our configuration i sat up front tho, lucky me 😀 company ended up selling it as it was barely being used compared to fixed wing
Yeah I know the operators definitely wish they were sitting up front for the good views we get. But they need to have access to the computer in the back, so might as well give them that room
Very cool! What an awesome job. Make me realize how horrible I am at flying helo's in DCS. Damn OH-6 kicks like a mule the moment if lifts off the ground. That thing you're flying is like a kitty cat LOL. How did you start flying helo's?
Yeah simulators make it harder for sure. They take out the feedback you get from feeling the aircraft vs just looking at the screen and reacting to what it's doing. I just did all my training on the civilian side paying for lessons as I went
@@sinfulldoubt If you dont mind me asking how long did it take you and roughly how much did it cost? I would imagine the help in this video must have been very expensive to get rated on.
It's funny how Hollywood movies show people jumping in a chopper and within 30 seconds of starting the thing there're taking off. Hear we see the actual time it takes from start to lift. Nice helicopter, I like the new ones that don't have a tail rotor.
Thanks! It's a hodge podge of parts. I believe mostly Ram though. I have their dual suction cup mount,a medium arm and then the x naut cooling tray for the iPad. Then the phone is mounted to the medium arm using the add a ball mount, a double adjustable arm and then an x grip for the phone.
Thanks! The 407 is still my favorite aircraft I've flown. It's a great ship with lots of power and it's pretty fast and still maneuverable. But the 206 works pretty perfectly for this type of work. It feels a bit like a go kart compared to the 407 being a sports car. Everything happens a bit slower in the 206 but I really enjoy flying both of them.
UK PPL(H) student here. Do you need permission to fly less than 500ft over a congested aera? I dont think we would be allowed in the UK with single engine? And how do you feel been low and slow all day? Can a 206 auto ok from 30kt, 300ft? Love your vids, such an insite to the all the diffrent jobs.
Thanks! I'm trying to fill a gap in RUclips with all these videos explaining the job. We don't need any special permission to fly low over a congested area. We're only required to notify certain places like prisons, power stations, refineries etc that request notification before we fly near them. It definitely comes with some risk flying low and slow like this though. I've never had to try an auto that low and slow but it does have some pretty good inertia in the blades which helps.
Thanks! Yeah I've had a few too many jobs over the years lol. But it put me in a good position to make some videos showing the different jobs in the industry in a way most people don't get to see
Yeah we're definitely at risk with the low airspeed, especially if I get slow around the turns. But as long as I stay above etl or don't sink, I'll be good. Yeah I stopped doing blade though
i love helicopters but they're expensive to buy, fly, and maintain. i would be worried about remotely piloted or autonomous drones taking over the line inspection business at some point.
Airbus sucks ass and the taliban fly Sikorsky. Bell is the only way to go. Lockeed Martin whom owns Sikorsky teamed up with Boeing and got canned by Bell. Bell 280 valor won over the largest development groups in the world. Bell, the way forward
Such incredible panoramic view from the cockpit, like you are seating in aquarium. I really had a enjoyed watching this awesome video. My sub for fun
Thank you!

I’ve watched many of your vlogs, you are a damn good pilot 🧑✈️ 🚁 hats off to you sir kind regards and take care Mark from the U.K. 🇬🇧
Thank you! There's always room for improvement but I'm doing my best at each job I perform.

More excellent content, thanks for sharing this and for the text info as we watched. A good format.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it
Wow. Very cool. Interesting work. Thanks for showing this. Such precise flying.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome video from a very good camera angle! And of course the JetRanger...one of my favourite helicopter! 😊Greetings from Hungary!

Glad I could make your day lol. Working on another one as well

Yeah they definitely over simplify things. If I'm in a hurry, I could get it in the air in about two minutes though.
Superb image quality...and piloting !!! Very interesting. Thanks for posting these nice videos ! From Montreal, Quebec,Canada
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.

Makes me proud bud!
Appreciate it man! Good hearing from you
So cool. Nice job! What model scanner were you guys using?
I'll be honest, I don't really know. It's all built in house and I'm not sure what components they use or if I'm even allowed to disclose anything 😂
Thanks for the ride. Looks like a great way to spend the day. Thank you.
No problem, glad you enjoyed it
Awesome video pilot
Thank you!
How do you like the 206 compared to the bell 407, and what are some major differences in handling/performance. love your videos

Was just checking a week or so ago if there was any new videos. Must have been a premonition.
It's like you knew I was working on it again now that work is slowing down

in xplane this is settling with power territory idk how realistic is that..? nice and smooth flying. btw you quit blade helicopters?

Ayyyy!
I respect the professional mic but I want to hear the blades a bit more. Great video
The next video will just be raw sounds. I may pick up one more GoPro and try to mix both cockpit audio and outside noises
@@sinfulldoubtnice thanks fly safe out there
LOVE the 206 😍😍😍😍😍😍
It is a pretty great aircraft
currently training fixed wing but highly considering rotor, which controls are you using to use the right screen?
I'm not sure I'm following you.
Hello , Caméra is ? gopro ? Hero ?
Best movie
Thanks! This one was all on my GoPro
are you not flying in the NYC area anymore?
No, I left back at the end of May

I'm not too worried about that happening any time soon
