Sooo cool!!! Can you tell us how long your strips are and how many strips you use?? I don't know how thickbto make the ring... also, I'm wondering if resin would make this ring stronger... I would like to make a green lantern for one of my sons and a super girl for my daughter. A light up ring would be super cool as well... there's just not enough time in the day, is there? Thank you for your videos... I love them. New subscriber!!!
Wolverine 😍 no contest... anything related to Hugh Jackman I'm sold😂 Also I think I can actually hear comic book geeks the world over crying right now, tbf if it was one of my G-fan magazines being sacrificed I'd be crying too 😂 ❤️ my Godzilla. Awesome end result 👍🏻
just the way u made this ring try using two part epoxy resin glue the semi liquid one its super strong and u can probably lathe it to perfection. i dont have a lathe even then its looks awesome.
You just gave me a great idea! Like you said I’m going to find a character with big eyes and cut the eyes out completely so you could see through all the layers and see your finger underneath... might not work as planned but worth a try for sure. Thank you for the idea!
Andrea Saxton cool - basically I apply a thick finish to the whole ring. Before polishing I sanded the edges down flat and reapplied the finish on edges of the ring. I hope that makes sense?? By loading up the edges with CA glue you stabilise the paper so you can sand it nice and flat
Do you really need to use comic strips for the inner paper? Couldn't you just use white or black paper for the inner sheets so that the color won't bleed through to the outside and inside of the ring?
Yes I am curious too as I'm really not sure tbh. I've seen rings like this advertised by other companies and it is a change of medium but I'm no lawyer so I wouldn't know.
I do currently have comic book rings listed in my Etsy shop. I am unsure about the lagalities so I would remove them if requested. I’ve seen other vendors selling similar products. I will look into it further though.
I know I'm really late to the ballgame but, you should be in the clear. You're not selling spiderman / superman rings. You're selling a service to turn a comic book into a ring that just so happens to have spidy on it. Atleast that's what you can tell the lawyers =P
Depending on the clear nail polish, it may yellow. I tried an expensive clear nail polish on a brooch project using old comic books and it yellowed after about a month. It'll also chip if you're a sweaty hands person like myself, lol.
@@ZebranoWoodCraft i did a ring from newspaper using ca glue only and you are right its not flimsy or anything its actually very strong i just coloured it black and its looks nice . thanks for this technique.
YES FINALLY!!! Awesome man, I love it. How is the strength of the ring? I know the CA will add quite a bit for strength, but curious how the paper holds up with just the modge podge..
Someone from Inuyasha or Dragonball Z :p Might be a bit hard to find something good though due to size. I have several boxes full of comic books in protective sleeves. I would never cut any of them up though. :D - Heidi
Sorry for the late reply! I use a medium CA - Locktite is a good place to start. I don't really know the difference between the Modge and normal PVA but I think it would work either way!
@@ZebranoWoodCraft hey ,uh i tried ure tutorial and it was coming out good (btw i used pva) but its not stiff and doesnt feel like a ring ,it feels like a round thick paper and it bends ,even after applying superglue..............do u know why?
Rings really my number one.
I love your creations, and your tutorials are excellent. You look a lot like John Belushi.
Thank you! 😊
Banana man would be coOol hahaha great skills Zebrano such a Good sense of humour keep up the great work fella
Applied super glue, ring went white but sanded it down to remove glue and used mom's nail lacquer to shine it. Turned out great
Mine sldo went whitish, lost the shine. Do I use higher than 1200 grit
This is awesome!! Once I've got the wood down, I'm makin me a Deadpool ring boiiii!!
Dude those are awesome. I’m making a trip to the comic book shop.
the one above all needs to become a ring. i’d like to see how that’d come out xD

I like that you make a Deadpool ring please 🥺🥺🥺🥺
Great job and cool ring!
Thank you dude!
Wow, nice !
How many layers of the CA glue did you use before you started polishing the ring?
Between 8-10 but sometimes it could be more/less
Awesome video my dude! Keep up the great work and thank you for the inspiration! You are the man
Awesomeness!!!
its awesome can you do batman ring like this
A Lobo ring would be amazing.
Oh that is awesome. I really want to try this. I just love the idea and execution
Nice one, if you give it a try let me know!
Hi! Amazing work! I want to give a ring as a gift but I'm afraid it won't fit :c
I’m gonna have to try this.
Venom ring! Now I must have one. May have to do a Green Lantern one too.
Man I have tons of fun with your videos, keep that awesome work!
Thanks dude that means a lot!
Can you make Batman please
Make one of joker
which mod podge do you use? i see a bunch of different versions with same label on amazon. CS11303 for example.
Sorry for the late reply on this one - I think that’s the right one yeah
Hey sir I want to ask if I made a black ring with your tutorial can I use superglue on paper instead of modge podge
Use Mod Podge to glue up and Superglue as a finish.
G
You can make his eyes holo
You just gave me a great idea! Like you said I’m going to find a character with big eyes and cut the eyes out completely so you could see through all the layers and see your finger underneath... might not work as planned but worth a try for sure. Thank you for the idea!
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!💍👀👍
Harley Quinn and joker
Cool idea can I copy one to make it for my nephew, please? Cheers Sean
Go for it man, that's why I made the video! Thank you for watching, what character/s will you be using?
Zebrano Wood Craft I have some really old Thor with old enemies in it, I think they would be perfect! Thanks, Sean
Love the Ring looks Awesome I was curious though about the CA glue does it make the paper water proof and strong to last a long time how durable is it
Love the tutorial! You are so funny
Love this! I'm attempting to make my own ring, any tips for making the edges so even? Mine looks a little off. Thank you for sharing.

It does, thank you for the advice! Should be getting my acti-spray in tomorrow, can't wait to try it out.
Do you really need to use comic strips for the inner paper? Couldn't you just use white or black paper for the inner sheets so that the color won't bleed through to the outside and inside of the ring?
Yes. Not only for the bleed through but also so you can save the art work for more projects.
How about batman ring
Vah
Am curious about the copyright issues with this I'm guessing it's fine for personal use, but can't sell right?
Yes I am curious too as I'm really not sure tbh. I've seen rings like this advertised by other companies and it is a change of medium but I'm no lawyer so I wouldn't know.
Zebrano Wood Craft so are you going to sell the ring?
I do currently have comic book rings listed in my Etsy shop. I am unsure about the lagalities so I would remove them if requested. I’ve seen other vendors selling similar products. I will look into it further though.

what if i use modge odge gloss type intead matte type, do i still need to coat it again with CA glue?
👌👌
Could you use a clear nail polish...lools nice thanks for the video....cool for anyone into a comic...
Why not! Give it a try :)
Depending on the clear nail polish, it may yellow. I tried an expensive clear nail polish on a brooch project using old comic books and it yellowed after about a month. It'll also chip if you're a sweaty hands person like myself, lol.
Why would you cut up comic books?! It would be a cool ring, but why not print a color picture of the pic u want?
D
How do you get the sides so flat without messing up the ring? I'm struggling.
how is this ring holding up???
Looks like new as I’ve been careful wearing it!

Thank you for watching man. The ring is really strong, the Mod Podge was just to act as a barrier so the CA glue didn't make the page translucent.
Been waiting since you posted it on IG! So is it purely made of the page paper? No base of bentwood or anything?
Batman would be awesome....
How do you get the ring off? Mine is stuck to the masking tape

Haha yes I was reluctant to cut into this comic book too! I have a few issues that have awesome artwork but I just can't bring myself to do it!
Do you have a scanner? I have a printer with a scanner. Just scan then print it and use that...? It's a thought anyway :D
Yeah that could probably work ... is it heating though? hahaha
I would think if you had a good color printer, you could print off a picture from whatever episode you liked. Just a thought. :)
Why would you use old comics?? They’re very valuable!
Only a few are actually worth much. He bought that one for less than a dollar

Awesome video Dan, ring looks great. Can I ask what CA glue you use? Also is mod podge just a kind of PVA or is it completely different?
Cheers -Ant

Try EBay man, that’s whereI got mine!
wow
amaging
That's really cool. what kind of gloves do you have that CA doesn't stick to, i've gotten all different kinds and still had issues with it.
Haha unfortunately all gloves seem to stick mate! I use nitrile or latex usually.
Just gonna go find a comic!!
Iron man
WOW Love it much really .. you are awesome
Nice one thank you! What hero would you choose dude?
I think deadpool would be a great choice :D
He's my favourite dude!
