Found your video recently. Wished I had looked it up sooner. Your explanation is spot on. Exactly what I wanted to hear. The small details that most videos ignore, you focus. Example being the profile interception, dual ap usage etc. Excellent work really ! Helped me develop a better understanding for my simulator. Keep up the good work !
1st time landing using vor today flying the fenix A320 while watching this video and it was successful with -233 on landing, so pleased! thank you for sharing your knowledge & keep up the great work!
im learning a lot from your vids, and i appreciate that sir! have you tried the ffA20? all the things you mentioned that weren't there on the toliss' MCDU and ND are implemented on the ffA320.
@@320SimPilot I find the FF A320 offers more info... I like the Toliss ones because if X-Plane craps out, you can restart X-Plane and resume where you left off. In the FF A320, you can't.
Yet another fascinating video, many thanks! I had a few questions from this tutorial, if you have the time to answer them... 1. Would it be fair to assume that Final App mode would be the first choice for a real-life VOR approach, with the Track FPA mode only used where Final App couldn't be used for some reason (ie loss of nav accuracy)? 2. Is there a height above the vertical path on a VOR approach where the pilot would consider that the deviation was too great to be corrected by varying the FPA and discontinue the approach? 3. I really like the view that you use to the side of the runway at touchdown. Is that a predefined one in X-Plane, or one you set up yourself? May I also put in a request for a tutorial about raw data VOR navigation to be added to your 'to do' list? :). I noticed the DME arc on the chart for Toulouse and was wondering how to actually fly one without using automation... Please keep these excellent videos coming.
Thanks for watching as always! Great questions. 1. Yes Final App reduces workload if its available and is more efficient as we can configure whilst descending on the final approach so uses less fuel! 2. This will depend on airline SOP and where on the approach path you are. A couple of hundred feet 10 miles from touchdown is quite fixable, but 3 miles it is not! I may do a video on this. 3. This view is the 'Runway' external view in X Plane and I move the camera to the side of the runway! Thanks for the request, I'll see what I can do!
Hy great video as usual but i have a newbee question 😬 is it possible to quickly change the arrival or the approach on the fms without using the secondary fp ? It seems that in the sim when you do that it s quite messy because there is a superposition of the point from the two arrivals ??? Thanks a lot
Great tutorial. I am trying to do this in MS FS2020 with the FlyByWire A32NX, (ie the VOR32R approach) however, the Nav display doesn't show "VOR/DME APP". Is this mode not supported by the FBW?
sorry but why if I arm the approach does not go down and fly high on the runway? or is there also a way to set the FPA and engage it and it goes down right? but i fail with the approach
@@hascar87 Thanks for watching and your kind words :) As I always say none of this is for real life use, your airline and training department will be the people to help you there! There are some things we can't simulate here or that different airlines do differently etc. Thanks again!

clouds look good what setting and is it standerd please .what an aircraft and great pilot
Thanks again for watching and your kind words! The weather is standard X Plane and I agree, it is very good cloud and weather effects as standard!

I do have the same problem VDEV and Cyan indicator is not appearing, i think its because of AIRAC and CDU database
In the rad nav do i need to tune only the vor 1 and 2 and the crs below? Because i saw there are more below

Do you get FINAL APP appear on the FMA?
@@tomstravels520 no I di not have FINAL APP

could u make a video about calculating descent profile ? appreciate

Nice intro 👍
Thanks 😁
Very good content.Maybe you should go Live.
Thank you for watching! I may do a live if it is what people are after, we shall see!
@@320SimPilot You should, there's actually a real cat doing live videos. You have a good content which I really respect and admire.Good work sir.
Do u have any addons on like Live traffic or is it stock
For this video and the other tutorials I have no traffic, for the full flights I use Vatsim. Thanks for watching!
