    It's interesting that you commented "no mercy" after the Ghoul shot Roger in the head, because I actually thought that moment was him displaying HUGE mercy: he deliberately reminds Roger of happier times (and human food!), and then shoots right as Roger is lost in a lovely memory of his mother's apple pie. For someone on the verge of turning feral, that's pretty much the kindest ending Roger could've hoped for. :)

    Great reaction and analysis as always. This episode was the one where I realised that the show was awesome on it's own merit, not just because it was tweaking my nipples with fan service, (even though it had arguably more fan service than previous episodes). I was genuinely interested, excited even, to see what the makers were going to do with the story within the Fallout Universe, not just happy that we were in a faithful recreation of it.

    Not sure when you recorded this but Amazon picked up the show for season 2 just over a week after they dropped it, but it will be a couple of years before we see it. It's still their #1 show over a month after it debuted, so that seems like a hit.

    I think they ran low on food and like in Vault 111 the management horded it and people fought over what is left. I think they revolted and tied up the overseer and got the truth out of him about what is going on.
    The Fallout show is a massive hit and its boosted some of the older Fallout games to number of player highs they never attained before, Fallout 4 was back in the top 10 selling games, which is amazing for a 9 year old release. Stores ran out of physical copies of the games in some areas, so yeah safe to say the show has been a huge boost to the Fallout franchise.
    Just to say I also really want a fallout tee shirt that says "Ass Jerky don't make itself". lol

    Another golden rule. If there's anything that doesn't make sense then it's probably a "game thing" haha. I picked up a lot from the games but still missed quite a bit. There's so much packed in here but the trick is to integrate the references naturally into the show, which they do superbly. The Ghoul "vials" are actually something that they do need to clear up in future seasons because they are not part of any Fallout lore.

    • @blinkachu5275

      @@blinkachu5275 EXACTLY haha. Which is what SO many miss about Fallout lore. It's NOT an overarching narrative like you would find with, say.. Tolkien. What we learn is that the Mr House ending to Fallout New Vegas is probably now canon (maybe even the Yes Man ending). Toooo much head canon and people getting pissed because their head canon isn't real.

    • @Dark__Thoughts
      @Dark__Thoughts 19 дней назад

      I do like it though. Although I suspect the organ harvesting is part of the process of making them (unless the mentioned "next batch" meant another human, not another batch of vials). But I think there was a moment in F3 where you had some moral choice regarding ghouls, but I just could not make it because to me they sounded like a ticking bomb. As much as I can sympathize with non feral ghouls, it seemed like it was just a matter of time until they became feral, and with that a threat to their surroundings. If there's a way to ethically produce the vials, then that means that ghouls can also technically live safely within a society, in which case such moral decisions become much easier.

  • @Dark__Thoughts

    Fural?
    I don't see the vault experiments as a major spoiler, it's kinda common game world lore if you played the games, assuming you didn't just rush through the main story and then quit, which of course is not how you play Bethesda RPGs. The show does mention them briefly but as with most things, it does not outright explain it, so typically I explain that most vaults are social experiments at a certain episode, with a minor spoiler warning. The video in vault 32 would imply overpopulation, while Lucy doing cousin stuff and not being able to find another partner would imply underpopulation, which may be a hint to the experiment in their vaults - along with the fact that the three vaults are all connected, which is as we know also not the norm.
    Whether Lucy can stick to the golden rule remains to be seen though. Coop went through this for a couple centuries, which is a long long time, and arguably the time right after the apocalypse was probably one of the worst. But as we see, the wasteland does not just change Lucy, Lucy also changes the wasteland, like Coop, who now sits there, seeing his former self kinda talking to him, giving him 2 out 3 after someone showed him kindness. For me that was a really compelling interaction between the two.

  • @jenniferhanses
    @jenniferhanses 27 дней назад +1

    Why do you think there was no experiment in Vault 32?
    Yes, it looks good and healthy and safe. Clearly they didn't get locked up with a jaguar.
    But why are 31, 32, and 33 interconnected vaults? Because there aren't any other vaults like that in Fallout, and you know that as well as I do.
    And they have that symbol that almost looks like the pyramid on the American dollar bill.
