Adam Rupp is the best beat-boxer in the world. I have seen them live 3 times so far... once in New Hampshire and now 2 times here in Belgium and I can tell you that if you haven't heard them in person you have to. I can't describe how many times the concrete vibrating from Tim's low notes has totally run through me and gives me chills. Each of them are talented in their own ways and as the group Home Free they are totally unstoppable. Keep going with them, they are fun and amazing.
You will never convince me there isn't magic in the world. Home Free makes magic every time they perform. This is absolutely gorgeous. I liked the original, but Home Free took it to another level. Their voices are almost supernatural and Adam's beat boxing/vocal percussion is perfect. Their musicianship is unparalleled. What a beautiful cover. They were put on this earth as a gift from the universe to spread joy and positivity through their extraordinary music and wonderful genuine personalities. Thank you for your great reaction. Glad you enjoyed the guys, again.
"A classic song made better by a group of guys wanting to give love to the world" Excellent and accurate statement, Matt! Thank you for your heartfelt reaction.
I say it every time - this is the best version of this song I have ever heard! It's in my top 5 favorite Home Free covers. It's just perfectly done. A few suggestions; "When a Man Loves a Woman", "End of the Road", "In the Blood", "Can't Stop the Feeling", and "Listen to the Music". Thanks Matts! 🖤🍟
Quick rundown of the group as it relates to this video: First soloist-Tim Foust, bass, 5 octave range Second soloist-Rob Lundquist, tenor Third soloist-Adam Chance, baritone (and covers bass when Tim is on lead) Those high runs and ad libs-Austin Brown, high tenor And of course Adam Rupp beatboxing and (not sure if he does in this one or not) some tenor harmonies. Home Fries post loads of videos from live shows, so if you want to check yourself on getting names with faces, search Home Free intros. Anything 2015 or earlier will be Chris, 2017 or later will be Chance. And they're always hilarious, to boot, and it gives a great sense of their personalities.
I grew up listening to John Denver's songs. But I feel Home Free took this one to another level for me. It is one of my favorite covers of this song. I love everything about it. It is a masterpiece. Home Free is my favorite a cappella group hands down.
Great reaction! These gentlemen never cease to create perfection. Could you please check out “When a Man Loves a Woman “ and “Listen to the Music “ both are phenomenal!
You definitely need to watch Home Frees remake of the Doobie Brothers Listen To The Music. I t is absolutely amazing. Thank you for sharing your love of music.
I love when a reactor gets it. Some listen and even appreciate their skill, but you can tell they aren’t connecting to it on a personal level. Because of what you said about getting in the car & listening I suggest “My Church”. Being alone in the car with Home Free on the radio on a nice drive can be a spiritual experience.
Great reaction!!! You are absolutely right about every thing. One of the most beautiful songs by John Denver, who also sang it wonderfully. I have heard many performances by different artists. But the one from Home Free is the best for me. It touches me deep in my soul and that is mainly because of Rob's great beautiful voice with so much emotion and soul
You should do Helplessly Hoping and Brother in Arms in that order to see how their harmonies have gotten better over time. It's amazing in Helplessly Hoping but stunning in Brothers in Arms.
Every time they do a new one I say, "Ooh, that's my favorite!".....and then they do it again. I just saw them in July in IN, and they do such a great job of relating to their fans. It's like Tim always says, "This isn't a concert; it's a party!". They respect their fans and always give them their all. God willing, I'll see them again at least once before my time is through. Enjoy your Home Free journey.
I wanna know what that note was that Austin hit?!? It made the hair on my arm stand up! All of these boys shine bright. BTW I’m a baby boomer who well remembers John’s original from 1971. I loved this song so much I recorded it on my Dads reel to reel (don’t laugh- that’s all we had in ‘71). I think John is proud of them.
Love this so much! Back in the day, JD's music literally saved my life a number of times. I ran to music and his in particular to keep me from killing myself. I think John, might be looking down and smiling hearing this. YOU are valued and loved as well! Sending my love. ❤
I do believe that it took 5 years for them to come up with the perfect arrangement in order to honor John Denver and this awesome song. Home Free has such adds a great quality to all their covers as well as their originals. Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole!
I so love your reactions and you explained it perfectly! To me....this is absolute perfection! For another great John Denver song....check out their video for Thank God I'm A Country Boy....you will enjoy it!
This is just beautiful. The Home Fries will be loading you up with suggestions but here are a few of my favourites which show what a range of styles they cover. Catch Me If You Can has a great lead from Rob Lundquist (beard and glasses). When A Man Loves A Woman puts the spotlight on Austin Brown (high tenor). Helplessly Hoping features all of them but particularly Adam Chance. Tim Foust (the bass) takes the lead on their recent cover of Forever and Ever Amen - classic old school country. And you really need to check out Adam Rupps beatboxing and "drum solos" because he is unbelievable. Enjoy the rabbit hole!
My dad was born and raised in West Virginia & he loved this song. When I was little he had me convinced this was the second National Anthem. Lol. It’s the first song I remember knowing by heart. Dad passed in 2016 and I still tear up when I hear it.
Mine too, and passed in '19. Good reason for the convincing -- he felt it!!! It is the unofficial anthem of WV though. Anyone who lives or comes to school here definitely knows the song. The greater population of WV are very proud of it. Not born here (believe it or not, I wasn't given the choice! LOL) but been here since 4yrs old... This is HOME and where I belong; not another place like it anywhere. Be Safe
Try “Listen to the music”; “ Bless the Broken Road”; “Meet in the middle”; “Good ole boy good time”; &. “Hillbilly bone”!! They produce a lot of great feel good music!! Nice reaction!
Great reaction! This is my favorite of their covers and that's saying a lot because I love everything they do, lol. Austin Brown does the high part that you talked about, you should check out their cover of When A Man Loves A Woman to hear more of Austin. I think you've reacted to enough now that you're ready for MayDay...it will blow your mind and showcases Tim's incredible range. Other favorites are Woman/Female, Everybody Walking This Land, Undivided, Sea Shanty Medley (so fun!), How Great Thou Art, and for the holidays Do You Hear What I Hear. Looking forward to your next reaction!
I grew up listening to John Denver. His version was perfect for the time it was released. Denver was a breath of fresh air. Simple and lovely. This version is perfect for now, and also a breath of fresh air. Not simple at all (just the opposite), but definitely beautifully done. They do as an ensemble what Denver couldn’t do as a solo performer, and they do it brilliantly, and reverently, as they always do. I enjoyed your reaction. You obviously appreciate both the original and the cover (us Home Fries call them “upgrades”). Would love to see you react to their cover of Brothers in Arms, In the Blood, and a fun one might be their cover of Forever and Ever Amen. And you definitely need to see The Butts Remix.
In my opinion this is one of the 5 or 6 songs that they have ever done. They did John Denver’s song justice. Great reaction and keep exploring Home Free. You have a blessed day.
Glad to see someone enjoying this as much as I do!! 😘 Home Free held back on this for years, working on the arrangement, wanting it to be perfect. I think they did it!
Love your reaction. I felt the same way when I heard it because its been one of my favorites since I was young and they made me enjoy it even more. You should also check out "How Great Thou Art" , "Auld Lange Syne" and "Brothers in Arms", along with about 100 other songs.
They did John proud on this. Love your reactions No need to hope you like some thing Home Free does, just what degree you like it. Like, good, great, absolutely love it. Wait till you get to some of their patriotic songs several written by them. Walkn this land Only in America
The overtones created by their pure harmonies resonate in your soul. Glad to see you appreciate them. They will touch you every time. They don't just do country. You will enjoy anything they perform 🙂
I have to say I like it better than the original….I just do. Home Free made it into a ballad and its so good it’s perfection. Home Free said they took years to get the arrangement right of this iconic song. Boy did they ever get it right. Everyone took verses. All their voices sounded so good and Adam (beatboxer) was perfect. Loved it. Great reaction Matts and I subscribed. 🥰
I feel like I'm repeating myself, but I appreciate how enthusiastic you are about the music. John Denver was part of my generation, so I've heard him many, many times. I think that somewhere he's smiling on the boys. Hope you have a great weekend full of great music.
BTW All the guys sometimes watch and comment on reaction videos i´ve seen them send a video message that´s why we know they NEVER blocks a video [ and they all say that they are grateful to reactors for spreading their music ] so if you get blocked it´s SME or the original artist
No song is just a song to Home Free. All songs have a story and an emotion. They are truly amazing at their harmonies, ther beat boxing is phenomenal and their love for what they do is untouched by any group I have ever had the pleasure to watch. Great men doing what they love, allowing us to enjoy their gifts. Having seen them in person, I know that what we are watching is very real! They are my favorite!!!!
I live on the Ohio River; when you crossover any bridge into my state, WV, there are signs that say, "Almost Heaven, West Virginia" . Some say, "Take Me Home". Yeah. We are that state.
Since you like Tim Foust and have watched Geoff Castallucci's cover of Misty Mountains I'd recommend watching the version of Misty Mountains by Peter Hollens and Tim Foust. It is absolutely amazing, and Hollens has done a few songs with Home Free and a number of songs with just Tim Foust that are just excellent.
Peter & Tim's version of Misty Mountains is my favorite cover. Not a fan of Geoff. Sadly he has become obsessed with hitting low notes in everything he does.
This is a great HF cover, it is very well done by the guys, giving it their own special touches. Now if you'd like to hear one of their newer covers, may I suggest 'Listen To The Music'. They took this Doobie Brothers classic and turned it into a classic of their own. Adam Rupp, the beatboxer, is absolutely fabulous in this one.
Just discovered you... and boy I just adore you! So glad you found Home Free... they are my obsession.. and now my husbands too .. New Sub here.. If you liked Kenny Rogers.. watch them with him singing Children Go Where I Send Thee..its a toe tapper! My Husband was hooked by My Church.. the list is endless. I agree with Kristin below.. you havent even scratched the surface yet.. they are incredible.. not a bad song Ive ever heard! Stay Safe!
Yes, and the Sing Off videos done by duckbear something has some of the prep and has the judges comments which I always find interesting and entertaining! ❤
Matt, my friend, you have just scratched the surface of this rabbit hole... it's a fantastic journey. Check out How Great Thou Art and In The Blood. Of course another video for fun is Hillbilly Bone, a cover of Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins, and Rob Lundquist takes lead on a cover of Keith Urban's Blue Ain't Your Color. I believe I've read that four of them have music degrees, and Adam Rupp even learned to play drums so that his movements would match his drum solos and he's an absolute beast... actually the very best vocal percussionist ever! I've been doing really well lately. It's taken me most of a year not to recommend 15-20 pieces per comment... I'm definitely getting better.🙃🙃
I grew up with John Denver and I always considered this an absolute beautiful song. But Home Free has taken it to a new high, I would have never thought they could make this song bring tears to my eyes. It is now on my list of greatest songs ever. Just so much emotion !!!!
You can lay your bottom dollar every co I ntry boy or girl from 8 to 80 that hears this song feels it and cannot help but sing with all the heart that Home Free added.
I love their version. I am actually from the state of West Virginia. Born and raised. A beautiful state with so much to offer. I also like the state of Virginia. Love Home Free.
Home Free's music just touches our hearts and souls! They are each so talented in their own rights but when you put them all together they are capable of giving you goosebumps and leaving you teary eyed. It is nice to see that others appreciate how good and special they are! Great reaction, can't wait for you to check more HF! End of the Road is a must for you to check out, you haven't seen and heard anything yet! lol
John Denver's version is obviously the classic. Chance's version with Peter Hollens is lovely and has a modern feel. But Home Free's version is still my family's favorite--hands down! Besides the unbelievable harmonies, getting to hear Adam Rupp's sweet tenor actually singing is such a great treat ❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
This song is everything to me being a West Virginia girl born and raised. I may leave here but I always come back. Now, I would have to say as a fellow Home Fry may I suggest End of the road by Home Free.
You're right -- this cover is exceptional. 🙂 So far, you've been lucky, and keep finding really great songs. Now, though, I'm almost curious how you are going to react to a song that just isn't your thing. I mean, we can't like everything, right?
It’s too bad you didn’t discover them sooner! They were here in Alberta in May. Now you will have to wait two years for their next Alberta appearance. Their videos are amazing but their live performances are OUT OF THIS WORLD!
Keep watching the stuff on the HF channel. :) Adam Rupp has a solo YT channel, but there's not much on it. The best examples of him doing live solo beatboxing are on the group channel. You also liked one of Austin Brown's high-pitch hits in this vid. He has a solo channel too, but in my opinion the best essential "solo" he's ever done is on the group channel. Namely, "When a Man Loves a Woman." It's in the same class with the Percy Sledge original and the Michael Bolton cover.
I love home free and Pentatonix but another group I would like you to check out is Voctave. They are an 11 member a cappella group with amazing harmonies. One of the members arranges all their music and he is amazing. You will not be disappointed. Check out their Disney princess medley. It is amazing!!!!!!!!
You haven't even scratched the surface of their talent yet. They just get better and better. They can cover literally any genre and do it justice.
Wanna blow your mind "When a Man Loves A Woman"....Austin is ICONIC!!!
Adam Rupp is the best beat-boxer in the world. I have seen them live 3 times so far... once in New Hampshire and now 2 times here in Belgium and I can tell you that if you haven't heard them in person you have to. Have you reacted to "Brothers In Arms "? It's truly amazing
Thank you for introducing me to Home Free's version of this song. It brought me to tears in a good way.
It is also in my top 5.
💯💯❤️
Totally agree Denise 💯
Everything Denise said!💯%♥️😀🍟 New sub!
Don’t forget Woman amen Female! That also is a great cover!!!!!
Quick rundown of the group as it relates to this video:

13 Albums and over 120 videos............... buckle up.........your in for a sweet ride!
Sublime, YES! I love Home Free and I love your reactions ❤️
I think John would have been very proud of this version
I recommend My Church, In The Blood, End Of The Road, they have done so many great songs. And Adam Rupp’s drum solo.
Every time they do a new one I say, "Ooh, that's my favorite!".....and then they do it again. I just saw them in July in IN, and they do such a great job of relating to their fans. Walkn this land

The overtones created by their pure harmonies resonate in your soul. Glad to see you appreciate them. They will touch you every time. They don't just do country. You will enjoy anything they perform 🙂

Recommend their When A Man Loves A Woman.
RIP JOHN DENVER, he would be proud
I must confess that I prefer this version to the original personally! LOVE me some Home Free! And Chance definitely has an amazing voice!❤❤❤
If you want to hear a great 5-part song with no beatboxing, check out Helplessly Hoping. One of my all-time favorites!!! Thank you!
You'll also get to hear Adam Rupp sing a beautiful tenor part!! Love his voice. ❤

Peter & Tim's version of Misty Mountains is my favorite cover. Not a fan of Geoff. Sadly he has become obsessed with hitting low notes in everything he does.
Remember … there are only voices … no instruments in their music. 😊👏👏👏👏. Thank you

I agree with Kristin below.. you havent even scratched the surface yet.. they are incredible.. not a bad song Ive ever heard! Stay Safe!
You really need to check out their beginning! The sing off shows! It's amazing how much they have grown!!
If you do, watch these with judges comments. And, this song is about West Virginia. Lol.
@@toodamtired276 I was going to comment the same thing about the judges 😁👍🏠🍟
I love this version and Geoff's equally, just different artistic interpretations.
Yes, and the Sing Off videos done by duckbear something has some of the prep and has the judges comments which I always find interesting and entertaining! ❤
I get goosebumps every time I listen to this.
Wasn't that freaking amazing? I challenge anyone to top this version LOL I don't think it can be done. Great reaction ❤️❤️❤️
Matt, please react to Home Free’s Hillbilly Bone. Thank you and I enjoyed your reaction.
Thanks for your reaction!
Their covers of How Great Thou Art and Go Rest High On That Mountain will bring you to tears
I grew up with John Denver and I always considered this an absolute beautiful song. But Home Free has taken it to a new high, I would have never thought they could make this song bring tears to my eyes. It is now on my list of greatest songs ever. Just so much emotion !!!!
😲😲😲😲Wonderful singers, coming straight from space to us, are going to drive us crazy! It's been a while since I heard so many😲😲😲😲
Home Free are the best! They did John Denver proud for sure! Loved your reaction!
It's getting hard to watch so many talents together! And so much beauty! Wow!
All with exciting talents🤩🤩✨✨✨✨🙏🙏🙏🙏
From a huge John Denver fan, this just thrilled me!!
Great reaction. Next stop Folsom Prison Blues.
This is a beautiful song and the guys do a amazng job with it. You might want to try...Good Ol Boy Good Time...really good and some fun also. Thanks.
Austin Brown (curly brown hair at the back, cute as hell) sang the high part. Check out When a Man Loves a Woman to see more of him:)
John Denver was always the family road trip music.
Home Free's music just touches our hearts and souls! They are each so talented in their own rights but when you put them all together they are capable of giving you goosebumps and leaving you teary eyed. It is nice to see that others appreciate how good and special they are! Great reaction, can't wait for you to check more HF! End of the Road is a must for you to check out, you haven't seen and heard anything yet! lol
I still say that they are Angels.
Home Free’s Seven Bridges Road is a must!
Consistent excellence. These guys never fail to deliver their best, and their best is better than any other group imo.
I loved John Denver - I think he'd be thrilled with their rendition of his classic.
This song is everything to me being a West Virginia girl born and raised. I may leave here but I always come back. Now, I would have to say as a fellow Home Fry may I suggest End of the road by Home Free.
You're right -- this cover is exceptional. 🙂
So far, you've been lucky, and keep finding really great songs. Now, though, I'm almost curious how you are going to react to a song that just isn't your thing. I mean, we can't like everything, right?
Our state song!! I have lived here almost my entire life
It’s too bad you didn’t discover them sooner! They were here in Alberta in May. Now you will have to wait two years for their next Alberta appearance. Their videos are amazing but their live performances are OUT OF THIS WORLD!
You know John Denver is smiling at this one.
Great reaction
"God Bless America" -featuring Lee Greenwood and the USAF Singing Sargent's. It will rip your patriotic heart out.
This is my favorite version of this song!! I think you might enjoy End of the Road. Rob kills it!
React to Home Free - End of the Road (Boyz II Men cover)
This song brings back so many good times of my youth. Truly enjoyed watching your reaction to this song.
Keep watching the stuff on the HF channel. :)
Adam Rupp has a solo YT channel, but there's not much on it.
I love this song. When I'm feeling gloomy it gets my blood flowing!
Hey BTW do you have a patrion?
I do not as of yet, I am fairly new to youtube so im not even sure what that is! haha
Looking forward to your trip down the Home Free Rabbit hole!!
They did an amazing job on "Seven Bridges Road
I believe John Denver would have thought this was “FAR OUT!” For a real driving song try MY CHURCH next.
Austin Brown is the high tenor
I love home free and Pentatonix but another group I would like you to check out is Voctave. They are an 11 member a cappella group with amazing harmonies. One of the members arranges all their music and he is amazing. You will not be disappointed. Check out their Disney princess medley. It is amazing!!!!!!!!
I love Home Free also I have one for you called End of the road by boys to men covered by Home Free really good.
Adam Rupp's arrangement. Took him several years to get it "just right". Thank you for your great reaction!
I am from West Virginia and it has been make out State song being sung at all ball games
