The reason people like MVG and Price aren't perceived as massive 180 hitters is board management. If you had a section for 170+ scores like 171, 174 and 177 then they would absolutely be the top two. Their all round game is much better and when you look at a lot of De Sousas 180's for instance. He's left on a bogey or has to use an extra dart to check out.
@@Straightdarts MvG is the best switcher to treble 19s there ever was. He basically single handedly put that switch on the map as a perfectly normal way to go around the board. Before MvG there was no one who even came close to the amount of treble 19s MvG hits on a regular basis.
Great video. Only missed one player in the top 15 and that is Dimi Vandenbergh. When Dimi is playing his A-game, probably one of the best 180 hitters on the whole circuit. Probably the same goes for Joe Cullen. I remember his match in the World Championship last year against MVG, just incredible. I think he has hit 20+ 180's in that match.
I met Eric Bristow at the North American Open back in 1989. He was good-natured, friendly and quite down to earth. All around I thought he was a decent guy. Rest in peace old boy. 🎡
He was an absolute gentleman. I Was in a bar in liverpool 2 years before he died where he was performing. Stopped for everyone for photographs and autographs. Took him ages to go outside for just a cigarette. Darts biggest Legend.

Mvg is my fav player but better known for his heavy scoring and finishing not his 180's. People just see his records and assume he has them but it's far from the case. When he best gary anderson in 2017 gary got more 180's and if I remember correctly broke the record and still lost. Just shows u how good mvg is and its not all about hitting a 180.

Definitely plays a huge part in it. If it was including 177 ect Phil Taylor would be top on the shop in my opinion. :)

Taylor never broke a single 180 record. He was incredibly constant and by fair the best at hitting scores like 171 177 174 but not massive on 180s.
I would Stick Jockey in over Devon Peterson but otherwise a good list

My 180s have dropped incredibly..averaging 3-4 a day now Im lucky to get 10 in a week...
