Ive watched a lot of your videos but this one has changed my accuracy 10 fold. No more rogue darts flying high. The little pause is a pure game changer for me.
Patience Daniel is key ;-), this is what I am trying / struggling from our 1st coaching session in middle of July and still miles away ;-), but keep going because when it's correctly done, that's simple amazing feeling from the throw
ive been throwing with darts matt on his streams and i tried to explain my visual process the other day that i see everything in my eye line from shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand are all parallel to the target before i pull back and release but im coming back from serious throw issues and videos like this have helped me come back quicker then expected so cheers
We have similar setups for when I play online.... Camera mounted on the corner of my desk, but the camera at me is a little more straight on. Thanks for the vids! Keep em coming!
Very interesting what you say about grip. I’m convinced I need to change mine to improve my accuracy. It’s difficult because it feels so unnatural. Good luck with your changes.
At 5:20 did you say, "aim at the treble and accept the big number?" Because after it sounds like you said, "don't aim for the treble." Just wanna confirm because your lessons have had a huge impact for me.
I mean, look at the treble, but make sure of the line. Don't try to hard for the height of the darts. Aim at the treble but make sure your straight, especially on the first dart. :)
Really appreciate the fast reply. I recently got a throw analysis and haven't improved as fast with anything else. Still tons do work but improvements I could not have got without you. Cheers.
That's awesome pal good to see you playing like that even with a new style all about self belief and you'll do well nice scoring and doubles great too keep it up would love to come down sometime and help each other dude would be good
I am more of a rhythm than deliberate rake a while to aim player. Key for me is setting the foot right to begin with, and then the looking back at the board is the cue for transferring the first dart into my right hand and starting the throw. I have recently found that i throw better with a shorter back throw, so incorporating that is awkward rhyhm wise atm
@Straightdarts and working on trying to set the mind on the wrist for the throw focusing the mind on use the wrist ,I've also got into setting my forearm more vertical ,this brings the dart alot closer to face then short draw back accelerate through. Eye line over the dart
i'd be very happy if i got your "more 134s tho"😅...when you've got your rhythm later, i really hope you would reach/pass the 100 average. all the best guvnor!
Great vid. I’ve tried to use the Steve Beaton grip like yourself but it just nose dives or spins off right and left. Did you have this issue when starting to learn that grip? Thanks
Its alot to do with timing, controlling the seed and order that's that's happens during the throw, whilst accelerating. It would be hard to make a video at short on that, but I'll see what I can do. :)
Im getting inspired to implement all your inputs and teaching in my practice, and its working :) TY Out of curiosity what darts and weigh are you using on this practice?
My alignment was off a touch, my chest was to side on. Always remember the center of your chest needs to be pointing in the same direction, eatch time. Everyone concentrates on the feet but the chest is fair more important. :)
When you pull your arm up to swing, and your hand/dart comes through the target in your vision, does it go above or does it stay under the target? or do you not even pass through it on the swing? hope that makes sense.
i see when your throw the darts, you dont line up and the dart isn't under your eye line like seen you teach before, is this because your throw is very smooth Michael smith style
When i through my darts i hold them so its covering my eye i can hit a 48 to 50 average do you think this is affecting me negatively? Ive tried to hold my dart just below my eye but i cant get good scores.
@Straightdarts im 5'4, do you think it's worth trying to practice throwing with the dart below my eye? I've also tried holding the darts at the side of my face but that doesn't go well either.
@Straightdarts thank you I'll give that a go see how I make out, great videos by the way I love seeing that you've posted a new video very helpful! Keep em coming!
@@Straightdarts I’ve watched the last 2 videos over a few times now because I want to get that hand print thing right as I’m a close grip hopefully can put things right in our session also
Didnt mean to upset you, it's your choice to practice fast. It's easy to hit when you keep ruining to the board, but idlr dosnt work in a game. Don't practice that way and you get better.
@LeeMortimer1994 Try mastering a pre shot routine, have a big exhale when you get to the oche and if you feel like your going to bottle a dart, try holding your breath until youv thrown it. :)

21 180s in an hour jesus daniel top notch
You put that across very well. Thanks for sharing your pains and your gains with us. Tim (Florida)
My pleasure, thank you! :)

Great vid, really enjoyed this one! I’m not one for dropping comments, but I felt that video really deserved one.
I appreciate that! Thanks mate! :)
That's really interesting, less power is more power 👌excellent tutorial as always, champ 👍👌Thx a lot 🙏🙏
Love these Daniel, Excellent work
Quality Daniel.
As a dartscoach i totally agree first dart is most important. Especially for rythm players.
Very interesting what you say about grip. I’m convinced I need to change mine to improve my accuracy. It’s difficult because it feels so unnatural. Good luck with your changes.
Well done Dan!! Wish I was at that level!🙏🏻💚
I'll change my as a rhythm player nowadays,so you helped me a lot. Awesome video mate 😎

@H4L That's amazing, Thank you for your feedback, buddy! :)
Your very good at this. Good stuff 👍
Arthritis, new grip, new throw and still killing it! Different standards in UK. You’d destroy us here in NYC. Keep it up
You definitely have the best pizza, though. What a city. :)
@@Straightdarts LMAO! Now we know why Daniel came to New York.. plan on going down there next time the PDC comes here

Love the change of style. Very Aidy Lewis.
Absolutely :)
Top vid as always brother
Really good video and good advice.
Great darts 👏🏻
5:31 gorgeous 👍👊😅
Hi Dan,
Can you show what your new drip looks like, I’d be keen to see 👍🏻
Sure thing! I'm going to make another run of Straight to the point darts originals and then maybe a run of these but slightly longer.
@@Straightdarts fantastic. Looking forward to seeing that 👍🏻
I'm trying the slower draw back with micro pause before acceleration and follow through
Good work :)
@Straightdarts and working on trying to set the mind on the wrist for the throw focusing the mind on use the wrist ,I've also got into setting my forearm more vertical ,this brings the dart alot closer to face then short draw back accelerate through.
Eye line over the dart
Thanks for the tips
Thanks Daniel!
you are so helpful
I can only admire every time I throw it goes to a different part of the dartboard 😢
I did that for a long time. Keep going.

I didn't, but it's always different for everyone. :)
what do you mean with pause at the end and gradually getting slower? can you make a video on the drawback?

Out of curiosity what darts and weigh are you using on this practice?
22g, it's a custom set but similar to Wade darts. :)
That's me I can practice in the house it 180 for fun when it's a game on my stance is all different and my rhythm is all over the place
What do you mean by 'not getting my chest to the board enough'?
Cheers

Always just under. :)
Still working on that pause, its the hardest thing to work into my shot still.
TWENTY 180s in a HOUR!! 🏆

I can always see over the dart, the dart is always under the line of sight.
What do you mean by allignment
Love the fact you can throw off them fast players by slowing the game down a little bit
what weight dart do you throw?
22g darts :)
What weight of darts are you using?
Still using 22g :)
When i through my darts i hold them so its covering my eye i can hit a 48 to 50 average do you think this is affecting me negatively? Ive tried to hold my dart just below my eye but i cant get good scores.
It depends on how tall you are and how long your arms are. If your short like martin schindler, he aims down the side of the flight. :)
@Straightdarts im 5'4, do you think it's worth trying to practice throwing with the dart below my eye? I've also tried holding the darts at the side of my face but that doesn't go well either.
Very impressive with the changes Dan. Hopefully this will give you the opportunity to play for longer without the pain. Fantastic video 👏🏻🎯
@@sublimetwinmc9890 I'd try elevating the point up when aiming sp that your can see over the dart with the elbow a bit heighter. :)
