@Carlos Michelini, why is always when people hear someone who has incredible technique means that they have “less soul”, probably that’s what some people said about Charlie Parker when he came around with his fast lines and ideas out of that time. And also I’m sure that Baptiste is not a cyborg or a robot, he is a HUMAN who has deeply studied Jazz, and mastered his instrument. I had a lesson with him, and his knowledge about records, styles, and also his piano skills are incredible, besides that he is really open and says that technique is a thing wanting to play what you have in your head and heart, which is what this is about, speaking through your instrument and music. I invite you to hear his records and you’ll see that there is a lot of nice music there. Just don’t judge because of the technique, cause nowadays they are incredible jazz musicians with those skills, like Chris Potter who’s technique and music is amazing, and much others. Just enjoy listening and if you don’t like how he plays, just leave it like that, but don’t say that he has no soul.
