  • Don't know if it's my old-ass GPU or the new leaders' animations aren't as smooth but the framerate seemed choppy on my end. Sorry!

      Tokugawa was a warlord in Japan during the Warring States period, 100 years of nonstop civil war in Japan, and he is one of the most influential people responsible for ending the Warring States period and bringing about the most peaceful era in Japanese history, so yeah it makes sense he would be like that. They really do an incredible job with theses!

    • @Real_British
      @Real_British Год назад +4

      Oh he's friendly alright, bcoz he's the one who ended the sengoku jidai which was lasted for almost 50 years (1545-1600) and led to peaceful japan for almost 200 years through his line.
      Yet he knows about warfare since he's battle hardened war from early day when allied with oda clan, to the battle of sekigahara which ended the warring states period.

      家康公は生涯で、70回近くの戦争を経験しておりますが、負けたのは、1回か2回程度です。
      正に"常勝"を体現した人物ですが、戦いに負けた時には、負けて惨めな自身の姿を画家に描かせて、決して油断しないように、戒めていました。

    I'm glad the denounce animations so far for the commanders arent either a recycled animation or weird screaming. Also, the defeat line for Tokugawa being a haiku is a nice detail.

    I think it’s a really nice touch that when you declare war on Ieyasu, he says he’ll be waiting for your guard to drop. If you know anything about Ieyasu as a person, he was known for his patience and strategic thinking, unlike the hotheaded and tyrannical Nobunaga or the cheerful and diplomatic Hideyoshi. Particularly, he loyally served both Nobunaga and Hideyoshi. Despite the fact that Tokugawa could have seized power for himself, he instead waited in the wings, and only made a move once Hideyoshi was dead and hostilities in Japan resumed.

    • @pablor.sepulveda9929
      @pablor.sepulveda9929 Год назад +5

      That's because of proportional space. The space in black is used by the model of the leader. If all the space was just the background, many parts would be blocked by the leader itself.

    • @Gojoseon
      @Gojoseon Год назад

      @@pablor.sepulveda9929 It still looks stupid, especially given that in at least one animation the leader is covering the left side rather than the right side. In Civ VI they definitely cut costs on leader backgrounds.

    • @DeadHandtheSurvivor
      @DeadHandtheSurvivor Год назад +4

      @@Gojoseon And I'm glad they did cut costs on the backgrounds since it allows the models to have as much room as possible to animate, sure the backgrounds in Civ 5 were nice, but I'd have extremely expressive animations over backgrounds that limits the leader's personality.

    To a certain extent, it is good to have both Tokugawa Ieyasu's military fans and swords. "No" and sadness is defeat, declaration of surrender should not be reconsidered as "OK".?🤔

  • @sethguest781
    @sethguest781 5 месяцев назад

    Excellent they chose Tokugawa Ieyasu for the leader of Japan, although they could also have picked Toyotomi Hideyoshi as he was runner up to Tokugawa for unifier of the country. He failed in doing so but he was quite close since most of the clans had already been crushed by the then late Oda Nobunaga.

      @@JhonPittsburg I do get that plasticy vibe from it. I think the issue is the strange lighting is making his armour more reflective, the bright grey shirt doesn't help either. Also I've tried using his static form and it looks awful, very washed out.
