I press yes, it loads up my phone screen (maps,spotify etc) for about 2 seconds and then pops me back to the default screen saying android auto connection error? Any ideas what might be going wrong ? Maybe the cable I'm using or ?

I successfully used this method on my Smart when you posted this video. Hopefully you can answer this... If I factory reset my Smart Media System, will I need to go through this whole procedure again? EDIT: Had to factory reset in the end, thankfully I retained Android Auto!

I was wondering if you know why my Smart car 453 system would be stuck on the normal warning screen, (the one that says about using the system while driving). i am not able to select anything on the touch screen and nothing is responsive. i can hear the radio playing and it switch channels and volume by selecting the hard keys on the left of the screen. but the touch screen itself is just not responsive. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have to modify the pins on the OBD adapter? A different general question - how can you modify the media system home screen view? Mine is default to map, radio button and eco score but i'd like to change the eco score box for phone and radio button for bluetooth. I don't see any possibility how to do this (smart 453 fortwo, 2015 model)

Hi Tim, Thx for the great video. I just recently got a proper cable to update my early 2017 Smart. I followed the directions step by step but was not presented with the 4.6 navigation but was given option of 5.1 which gave me the option to change tp present for android auto. The update seemed to have worked but have not been able to get the head unit to recognize my new Galaxy S10+. When I plug it in nothing pops up on the screen but the phone does start charging. The usb-c cable works fine for data transfer when connected to laptop. There is a new update for the radio 11.344. I have the 11.343 loaded right now. Maybe the update has something for these new cell phones. I really would like to get the android auto working in this car. Have you seen any new developments? Thx Rick

Si Android Auto s'ouvre sur ton téléphone provient du fait que ton S9 s'est connecté au Bluetooth et reconnait qu'il s'agit une voiture (et pas à un casque par exemple) : rien à voir avec Android Auto. I did it today, and it was a success. I would say when you click on the 4.6 in navigation (top box beneath ECU name) it does take about 15 seconds for the next (Navigation) MFDv4.6 to appear. I did wonder whether mine had locked as it wasn't anywhere as near as fast as the one shown in this video.
@@Split10uk Thanks for your reply, it makes me wonder what went wrong. Mine completely disconnects when I click 4.6. Did you use version 1.5 of ddt4all (the newest) or version 1.3 as in the reddit post?

I don’t think that CarPlay will work on the TomTom System. CarPlay needs different chips inside the system…

No modification needed which is good. Unfortunately you can’t modify the home screen to that level.

Sounds like you’ve got a bad ELM device. I link to the correct one in the description. Buy that and it’ll work as long as your pc is setup correct.

For anyone having the same issue, it was the wireless adapter. I got a usb one and it worked.

I think so but from my research the OBD cable won’t work straight out the box with Renault. You need to re-wire it slightly.
