    Sniping duo. The way it’s written, seems like on your turn you could miss, spotter takes a reaction to shoot which they can miss and then you on the same turn use your reaction to also take a shot.

    "Are any of these feat thematic for a swordmaster"
    Well yes, because Swordmaster is the title of those who protect the scrollmaster and spellmaster in the Pathfinder society. They are the swordman. This is why they have a lot of feat that help them protect their allies. I think it's honestly not that bad.

    I don't disagree that Golarion could benefit from leaning into a Final Fantasy type setting. I actually really like that comparison.
    I also don't mind the kitchen sink approach.
    It's something that bothers me from things like Star Wars. Every planet has just one thing going on, one is a desert, one is a forest, one is ice, one is water. Like... These are big ass planets and there's no reason why they couldn't hold multiple cultures, environments and technological levels. They just seem to meld once you look at it from an overview of "this is a game world".
    On Earth Cowboys lived at the same time as Samurai and even today while we're typing stuff on our smartphones there's people living technology free lifestyles in the middle of a forest/island with no connection to the outside world.

    Soulforger is A/S tier only if you min-max and just pick Planar Pain and Planar Bond. You don't really fight bosses more than once per day, maybe twice. So for one fight you have guarantee weakness or resistance bypass (fighting Golem, welp, whole damage is now Acid :D) or getting huge resistance to another one damage (Blue Dragon, welp, resistance to electricity). It's really nice boss melter as you can bypass resistances or go vs weakness. And lets be honest: Bosses are the difficult fights.

    I dont really understand the point at like 2:27:00. Dont all those cultures you mentioned exist in real life, on the same planet? EDIT: Nvm, should have kept watching, it seems like you're saying the world feels too small. They can exist on the same planet, but everything is too scrunched together.

    • @KnightsofLastCall
      @KnightsofLastCall  Год назад +1

      Yeah; just TOO close; different cultures on one planet is totally fine, but an entirely different way of life "just over the river" is a bit too extreme.... but I'm not anthropologist, maybe it's accurate :D

    I think I must have been pulled away from the VoD when I watched this, I missed the highly acclaimed Spell trickster review my first watch through! Maybe cuz I couldn't finish this in one sitting.

    1:07:10 I'm playing Abomination Vaults. *Spoiler* When I hit level 2 I plan on taking this archetype instead of Ghost Hunter. I want the Domain Initiate feat. And the Spiral Sworn looks REALLY strong.

    2:30:00 Flavor aside, Sterling Dynamo is mechanically kind of comparable to Mind Smith, but also Martial Artist? It's like Mind Smith in that it lets you choose what your weapon does, but it's actually much better than Mind Smith straight out of the gate in this regard, and offers superior flexibility... which isn't saying much, but it is something. But the dynamo is also an unarmed attack, and it's weird! Like other unarmed-focused dedications, you get a lethal unarmed attack, but this time you can either keep two free hands to do other things with, or you can have a "manual dynamo" that uses one hand to deal higher damage, and you get your choice of an agile and finesse unarmed strike or a higher damage shove attack. This isn't a bad dedication feat, honestly. The modular options at level 4 give you unarmed attack choices that normally you'd have to drop into a stance to do, but then the dedication just... doesn't really do anything with this! Piston Punch is good but situational, and the rest just comes on far too late to be enticing, or just scales poorly. Altogether, it feels like its interaction with unarmed fighting has potential, but also a lot of limits. Probably not a bad dip for Monk, though, or as a dip if you have a way to take advantage of unarmed fighting.

    It’s funny how you went on about the disparity between technological levels in Golarian when we have the same thing in our world. We have primitive tribes in the Amazon a short distance from major cities and islands all over the Pacific with indigenous people still living the same lifestyles they’ve been living for generations.

    • @KnightsofLastCall
      @KnightsofLastCall  Год назад

      I think something like a small isolated tribe is a touch different than entire cultures and nations....
      Also magic exists in this world; you can travel faster in Golarion than you can in modern day Earth!

    • @shoulung6203
      @shoulung6203 Год назад +4

      @@KnightsofLastCall Pap New Guinea is larger than California, filled with a bunch of primitive tribes.
      PF2E allows blind teleports? Otherwise I'm assuming you're referring to things like teleport circles or what not. I haven't played a lot of PF2E, but I would think travel for your average commoner or low-level adventurer wouldn't be much different, if not slower, than for us on average. I'm fairly certain I could get a ticket to halfway around the world easier and more consistently than a blacksmith is getting transported halfway around the world on Golarion. Never mind the fact that internet and wi-fi has made our world much smaller than what is going on with Golarion, and we still have cultures that maintain their traditional lifestyle, so I can understand cultures that do the same in Golarion. I think you'd have a stronger argument in the ecological possibility of the Mammoth Lords surviving in a small valley considering that large herbivores generally travel hundreds or thousands of miles in a year to support the amount of food they eat.

    45:45 I get you hate guns man, but damn, there's so much unrealistic magic stuff in the game. You can play a plant that's come to life, you can play someone who has an angry ghost bonded to your soul.
    But fun gun things are too far?
