I am just getting back into the hobby after quite a few years and have been binge watching you guys. Thanks for all of the great info and insight. BTW, it was great seeing the horse race, we used to play with those games as kids.
Man, i wish when i offered this guy 70 percent it went that friendly. Lol. Guy wanted 120 percent. He did say in the ad, "I know what I have." Even after he agreed to the comps, he wanted more than market value. But that's people for you.
Glad everything rolled so smooth, in real life I waited 30 minutes to be directed to Ryan's office which had 3 people in it that just looked at me for a cpl minutes before I asked if I could sit down and show him the cards. I've never felt so unwelcome. I had nice autos and mem numbered to 15 Tatum to 99 pg3, auto rc gunner etc. He didn't even look at them. I had to point out" hey there's a LeBron winner stays pink refractor #ed to 25..." he replied ill do $10 on that. I said not even 20?(I wouldn't have done 20 but had to ask) he said no 10 would be my max. I guess it goes a Lil diff when the dude buying your cards is ur buddy
I just recently visited Cards HQ in the middle of June. I brought roughly 30 slabs (mix of sports and Pokemon), and roughly 30 raw ungraded cards. The staff was very quick at comping, and i had a nice discussion with Ryan about an obscure set that i own. All in all my trade was valued around $1,200. i used 400 in trade for some cards from the shop and left with $800 cash. it was even easier in person than this video made it appear.
If the shop is buying the cards at full market value which is what the valuations are based on. Where does the store make money? There seems to be a catch for the average person in the average store and the store needs to make profit.
I would want that grant hill he was one of my favorites growing up other than MJ. Remember having one of those big pistons jackets their colors were awesome
Some card shops are that easy, as long as they comp each card and tell you a percentage they do up front. Too often they simply guesstimate in their head and give you some wacky thing.
This is one of my favorite videos that you’ve done so far! Really enjoyed the horse race nice touch if I lived in the Georgia area I think I would definitely sell some cards to cards
There is a store in Sebastian Florida that only way you can sell them anything is if they are pretty much stealing it from you be lucky to get 50 percent value
70% what! Where I'm from it's usually 50% of comps. Though it usually ranges from 40% to 75%. 75% here is rare to see a local card store or show dealer offer that.
T Pot thanks for the videos. Quick question, how often does Market Movers update their amount of cards in their database? Either sports, tcg, etc. Thanks!
Hey there, We are adding new cards every day! We add cards to enable charts and other features, and we do that based on the most popular sets and players - new and old. Our data updates every day from 11 marketplaces, and you can search for sales comps for ANY card in that tool.
Yeah this isn’t how it happens where i live in Texas 😂 you’ll get offered 50% value for your cards and they will price their cards in shop for 1.5-2X over comps 😂😂😂
If you mean when trading with others, you should value your cards at the same rate as anyone else. With shops or dealers, yes they will typically do 80%.
Too bad for you bro. US prices are different from PHP prices. When you sell cards here in the PH, they are 30-40% lower than the actual value. And when you buy cards, its around 90-100% value. Thats why i dont sell here. Babaratin ka ng mga pinoy pre haha
I'm just curious as to why none of your cards were graded. I understand that it wouldn't make sense to pay $15 to get a 20 dollar card graded, but a few of the cards could have gone through the grading process.
$6.67 is a high price? We try to keep it as affordable as possible while ensuring we can keep our development team staffed and support the infrastructure costs.
Come on folks, do you really think these were his cards. This whole video and everything Card HQ does is to promote their shop or Market Movers. I ain’t knocking em for this but all these comments about how genuine Tyler is and the simping for JW, getting nauseated.
@@zacharyrobinson8427yea the key is getting the cash or credit instantly. Selling yourself can insure max returns but could be months before the money is in hand
There are no margins for them to make any money if they paid 80%. 70% is legit high considering most card shops are paying 60% or less. Considering these weren’t high dollar cards them paying 70% on that alone is amazing. On the extremely valuable cards that people sell yeah there’s already built-in margin if you pay 70% but on a five dollar card or a $10 card doesn’t cover a lot of stores expenses.
70% is a fair offer because they technically would be willing to buy anything that has a market at that price its not a one card deal its an efficiency thing if you need or want the money asap without any trouble that’s the easiest way to sell super fast if you prefer eBay and think its better you can do it and typically you will get 80% and will take work and maybe waiting for 2-4 weeks depending on how fair your pricing is.
I didnt call Billups a role player. I said role players have been selling for a lot and then after Olakawandi just pointed out the Billups. I see why that was confusing, but Im as big of a Billups fan as there is! I will never love a team more than the 04 Pistons. Thanks for watching!
Don't use any kind of tape PERIOD - use rubber bands to seal your top-loaders before you ship.. Or you can do what I do and put the card in a team set bag. I understand team set bags are a little expensive and a bit overkill but rubber bands are great, they don't damage the top loader so it stays pristine and obviously rubber bands come off very easily... I mean the idea is to just ensure the card doesn't slide out of the top loader - that's it... Not only that but rubber bands are way cheaper than painters tape as well. I'm sorry, but I cant stand tape and I'm absolutely shocked, as far as I know I'm the only dealer that uses rubber bands... I mean they're super cheap as well - you can get a big bag of them at any dollar store or any office supply store - they're probably more expensive at office supply stores but it cant be by much.... But like I said - team set bags serve the same purpose and add even more protection to the card. That and it keeps moisture and all of that jazz from affecting the card as well.. Just my .02 cents as a dealer that ships (and receives) a lot of cards... I mean I'm sick of tape being absolutely everyhere, sticking every-which-way - tape can make mail-days incredibly frustrating depending on the amount of packages I get that day, lol.
Disliked the video because it’s Fake. Card shops in Cali including places like Burbank Sportscards. You know them. Only offer 50%. FACTS. So this fake video is of no help. But kudos to CardsHQ if they really offer what the video says they do.
I’ve returned to the hobby after 33 years. Your videos are very helpful. Thanks!
Same here... welcome back.
I am just getting back into the hobby after quite a few years and have been binge watching you guys. Thanks for all of the great info and insight. BTW, it was great seeing the horse race, we used to play with those games as kids.
Made it look simple enough in bulk. I feel like its always a hassle with shops wanting to pay so little because they wanna profit themselves.
I love your videos, T-Pott. Your genuine approach shines through and the content is really helpful. Thank you!
Thank you!

This is a typical experience when trying to sell to a shop or dealer at a show..especially in bulk like this deal, expect max 50% value
Thats what I was thinking .
its only an easy negotiation because its for the video. its never that easy for a random person. the store will always try to rip you off

@etherealuniverse19 They pay at 70% of value in cash or 80% store credit. There is room to make a little money.
Reality TV
I've met more sorry ass people who have card shops than used car salesman. I mean just trying to go the extra mile to be more of a pos card dealer.
My LCS Shep's Cards & Collectibles in Hendersonville, TN is like this. He is very easy to deal with.

Awesome video!!! Great to have a place like that providing the liquidity.
It has been really nice :)
Love seeing T POTT In action
You know your in the right crowd when Van Noost is there
What is a kobe bryant out of prestige jersey numbered out of 249 raw
where the fucc can i get most of these cards shown for the price they are being bought for ?
Card HQ must be different bc every card show and card shop I’ve been to, they’re either not buying, not buying raw, or offering

Most people online/Facebook/Discord/Instagram will offer anywhere between 70-90%, usually 80-85%, Local card shops usually wont so try sell online
I saw the Luffy bounty poster in the background… is Ryan a one piece fan???
Loved this!
Very helpful video - keep being great!!!!TY

Always enjoy your topics! Thanks again! I want to know if it’s easy to switch all my cards over from Beckett? I love the running total for Beckett.
Great video! At trade nights does the 80% comp come up? For example if a card is selling for about $100 should I expect to get that on trade value?
If you mean when trading with others, you should value your cards at the same rate as anyone else. With shops or dealers, yes they will typically do 80%.
Was this a commercial for your pricing app?
The channel is called Market Movers...it's great to see the app in action before I decide to pay for it
Thanks for sharing
a 33 minute ad for their app
This is the Market Movers channel. We will use our app in every video. Thank you for watching!

Selling an appreciable asset to buy a depreciating one.
I thought the same thing.
Did you or the backyard take the horses? I saw this in their stream last week. Who’s stealing what from who?
Not too many shops would want all the cards you are selling .
Me as a Michigan fan was hurt in this video😭😂
Sorry 😅😅 Someone has to root for them! And congrats on the National Title!
@@t-pott4504 thanks😂

Sorry not my thing. I don't follow it at all. But we have the cards in Market Movers!
Informative video
Thank you!
One of you needs to be wearing a flat-billed hat and basketball jersey in that role play to display the real experience.

Lmao Tyler won and then still got Ryan's price
$100 a year doesnt equal $6.67 a month. More like $8.33

70% seem kinda low for cash being u can sell on eBay at 13%. 80% cash and 85%-90 store credit seems more in line
for stores i think 70 is actually more than i usually see. better percentage at shows or ebay fs tho
