I love A Lovely Summer by SJP. It is such a beautiful musk perfume that I will definitely pick up a second bottle (her website shows it's a limited release so I'll get a second one before it's completely gone in the UK). I've worn this a couple of times and for me, it can be worn all year round but it'll be best in warm weather; I don't think it can cut through the cold in winter/fall. I also wish that SJP would come up with an exciting new perfume line & not flankers of Lovely.
We cannot find A Lovely Summer easily in the US at all. SJP sells it (for $68!) on her website only. I absolutely love her fragrances, and find them to be affordable luxury. My brother-in-law live in London and I’m hoping my husband will ask him to pick me up a bottle before the next time he visits.
@@skinscentsforfusspots it is very odd! I understand when getting a Soki London’s fragrance might be extra work, but SJP is American, and we just aren’t seeing it anywhere. Oh well!
I’ve always wanted to try Lalique but changed my mind because people say it has bay leaf 😅 I was hoping for vanilla and Tonka to be pronounced 😊is the bay leaf obvious?
Oh yes, it smells very strong of bay leaf. I was so disappointed. It wasn’t vanilla at all. I sent it to my sister in law who is in her 60s and said she likes all kinds of perfumes . I sure do hope she got some use out of it. I actually sent her a dozen blind buys that had very good reviews but just didn’t work out for me.
@HerFragrantGarden I think the bay leaf is obvious but I also find the vanilla and tonka to be strong too (albeit the perfume is light - my newer bottle anyway!). I actually think of Lalique Le Parfum as a Vanilla and Heliotrope perfume, but if you're worried then it's not a wise blind buy. I hope you get a chance to smell it without having to buy a full bottle!

I’ll definitely be testing it out in winter so I’ll report back on how it does!

I hope you manage to get it! It's odd how limited her releases are outside of the UK.
